As if no other place existed to get drinks, Moloney's it is! This place just doesn't have what I look for in a bar. I'm not a bar snob, hell, I'm not even a big bar goer, I'm just a guy who seems to like a different kind of atmosphere. I suppose this place is just a matter of taste on how you prefer bars. I love pubs, Irish pubs at that because of what they carry. Irish whiskey and dark stouts are what make my life complete. And their drink selection is impressive, but for those who don't love standing in long lines or fighting through tons of people to a speedwell, it just doesn't mean much. And call me old, but I've spent more time on my feet on Moloney's then I have at any other bar in Kaiserslautern. Unless you're ready to get there early, or seriously fight for some table space, it's not worth it. I don't drink to get drunk, and I don't like to get rowdy when I drink. Moloney's caters to both. Like a previous reviewer said, you can actually do shots with the owner and staff. For some people that's a great way to have fun and meet people, I have no problems with that. For me, I see that as a huge red flag for industry unprofessionalism. I think Moloney's knows their target audience, and I'm not that person. I can't hardly fault a place for trying to be something to everyone, because it's obviously doing well. My two-cents? This place is awful.

They have an extensive drink selection and their prices are reasonable (but are still in Euros so the tab tends to add up by the end of the night). But be warned, nearly every time we've gone here it is crowded, takes a long time to get a drink, is super rowdy, and someone always ends up getting into a fight/gets kicked out/makes a scene/has base police or polizi called on them. So be prepared for some nonsense and annoyance. Overall, I'd say this place is good for young people in group outings but I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for a relaxed night out with a date.

We went to the other side of the restaurant, to get away from any prejudice from the other night. We ordered a simple pork knuckle, but instead of mashed potatoes we wanted roasted. the order came, a pork "Shank" and mashed potatoes, 10 minutes later when we were able to flag down our waitress I asked her to look at our plate and tell me what's wrong? She immediately saw that the potatoes were wrong and took off to correct it. another 10 minutes later we got enough roasted potatoes for 6 people, served in a 2 quart bowl. My wife and I ate maybe 10 pieces, before we laid down our forks. The pork "Shank" was disappointing, anyone who has had a pork "Knuckle" will know what I mean. After dinner we ordered a Expresso Martini for her and a "Adios Mo-Fo", a play on a "Long Island Ice Tea" in 10 minutes the wife got hers, and by the time she finished it my AMF, still had not arrived. When we were finally able to flag down our waitress and asked for the check I informed her to make sure the AMF was NOT on the bill. She tried to make excuses but I shut her down and asked for the check, again. When it came I told her I wanted a receipt, got it and pocketed it, and we walked back to the hotel. In our room I looked at the receipt and threw it down and raised my hands in a "Field Goal", the wife was like, "WTF!" so I showed her the bill, the AMF was not listed but they charged us 5.50 euro's for the additional roasted potatoes. the 5.50 euros is going to be the payment for the next yelp they get from me. I hope the owner sees this and understands this is NOT a way to run a business, if you can't run it properly with the staff you have then hire more, or train the ones you have, better! Read review #1 on kitchen sanitation madness. Gordon R would have fired the whole crew and shut the place down for sanitation and cross contamination issues.

It's great if you haven't switched over to euros yet or if you want to save money. You can pay in either dollars or euros when paying in cash. If paying with card, you pay with euros. They have a large indoor area and a patio as well. If you go in the hot summer months, be aware that, like most places in Germany, you won't have AC but fans instead. All of the staff are super friendly and helpful. They have an expansive menu that hosts a lot of great options. Everything I've ever tried from there has been really good. On my most recent visit I had their summer salad with shrimp and it is excellent. They also have a great drink selection. I enjoyed the dry Rosé.
