24.09.2026, too many on here said I needed to give them a second chance, first meal was 22.09.2026…read more(**), so we did...DUMB! We went to the other side of the restaurant, to get away from any prejudice from the other night. We ordered a simple pork knuckle, but instead of mashed potatoes we wanted roasted. the order came, a pork "Shank" and mashed potatoes, 10 minutes later when we were able to flag down our waitress I asked her to look at our plate and tell me what's wrong? She immediately saw that the potatoes were wrong and took off to correct it. another 10 minutes later we got enough roasted potatoes for 6 people, served in a 2 quart bowl. My wife and I ate maybe 10 pieces, before we laid down our forks. The pork "Shank" was disappointing, anyone who has had a pork "Knuckle" will know what I mean. After dinner we ordered a Expresso Martini for her and a "Adios Mo-Fo", a play on a "Long Island Ice Tea" in 10 minutes the wife got hers, and by the time she finished it my AMF, still had not arrived. When we were finally able to flag down our waitress and asked for the check I informed her to make sure the AMF was NOT on the bill. She tried to make excuses but I shut her down and asked for the check, again. When it came I told her I wanted a receipt, got it and pocketed it, and we walked back to the hotel. In our room I looked at the receipt and threw it down and raised my hands in a "Field Goal", the wife was like, "WTF!" so I showed her the bill, the AMF was not listed but they charged us 5.50 euro's for the additional roasted potatoes. the 5.50 euros is going to be the payment for the next yelp they get from me. I hope the owner sees this and understands this is NOT a way to run a business, if you can't run it properly with the staff you have then hire more, or train the ones you have, better! Read review #1 on kitchen sanitation madness. Gordon R would have fired the whole crew and shut the place down for sanitation and cross contamination issues.

Called last minute for dinner, spoke to the owner Harry. He said we could come in, but…read moretraditionally he asks customers to make reservations. The reason was fantastic, which is that he grills the steaks slow and low, some for five hours. He had some steaks in the works, so we could come in. Our group was five, including a child. We had three steaks. 1. Australian rump. 2. Australian rib eye. 3. Irish rib eye. Harry came over to the table about four times during our two hours there. He first introduced himself, then explained how he ended up in this business and where the steaks come from. He came over to check on how the meal was going. Just the absolute best steak dinner we / I have ever had. It cost a pretty penny, but I'm thrilled we did it. All three steaks prepared medium rare I would say. We had some starters, and only one side, which was sweet potato fries.

Chacarero Steakhouse delivers the kind of meal that makes you stop mid‑bite and say, "Okay... this…read moreis really good." From the moment you walk in, the warm lighting and relaxed atmosphere set the tone for a great night out, and the staff keeps that energy going with attentive, genuinely friendly service. The star of the show is absolutely the steak. Perfectly seasoned, beautifully grilled, and served exactly at the temperature requested; it's the kind of quality you usually only find at high‑end steakhouses. The sides are just as impressive: fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The chimichurri deserves its own shout‑out; it's bright, bold, and elevates everything it touches. Drinks are well‑crafted, portions are generous without being over the top, and the pacing of the meal feels thoughtful rather than rushed. It's the kind of place that works equally well for a date night, a celebration, or just treating yourself to a seriously good dinner. If you're anywhere near Kaiserslautern and craving a great steakhouse experience, Chacarero is absolutely worth the visit. I'd come back in a heartbeat.

I've been here thrice now and all experiences have been positive!!…read more First and foremost, this restaurant is a great place for American travelers because they actually accept USD! It's great if you haven't switched over to euros yet or if you want to save money. You can pay in either dollars or euros when paying in cash. If paying with card, you pay with euros. They have a large indoor area and a patio as well. If you go in the hot summer months, be aware that, like most places in Germany, you won't have AC but fans instead. All of the staff are super friendly and helpful. They have an expansive menu that hosts a lot of great options. Everything I've ever tried from there has been really good. On my most recent visit I had their summer salad with shrimp and it is excellent. They also have a great drink selection. I enjoyed the dry Rosé. O Overall, this is an excellent Mexican restaurant and you should definitely try it out!

Garden sitting, super cute and family friendly Large space, the inside of the restaurant has a lot of space, many rooms it is a pretty large restaurant. Nice specials with 2 for 1 drinks many days of the week. Service is slow - very slow, they get easily overwhelmed with large tables. Not enough menus, there is a common practice of giving 1 menu per 3 ppl, and not giving enough time for people to look trough the menus, as there is very little amounts to go around. ... Took 20 min to order my drink - the service is pretty slow, I am not sure if it is the waiters themselves or if they are under staffed The waitress was very overwhelmed with the orders, the runner was not loud when bringing food out so he was giving the food to the wrong people and people were eating each others food because of that. ENCHILADA APPETISER - i got mine with ground beef, the sauce tasted pretty nice and the appetiser was fulfilling. Nothing different than a regular plain enchilada here, i did appreciate that they had it with ground beef MOLE ENCHILADA- this is my go to when at a Mexican place. I got it with cheese and onion In the end of the day the order taking and the food took so long that we were basically full of chips by the time we got any food. OVERALL THEIR FOOD IS GOOD, but only come here with plenty of time to wait around for the service
