I was referred to this company. I needed a shuttle to EWR and the driver got me there long before my flight. My return flight arrived later in the evening and I wasn't certain where pickup was, as I'm not familiar with the airport, but the driver and dispatch made sure I was safe and waited until I got to the driver, because I was traveling alone, he had flashlight for safety, made sure I didn't leave anything behind on the shit I would use them again. read more

I literally sat at JFK in tears because of this company. Summary: I took this one way from JFK to my home in Northern CT. The shuttle was far later (1.5 hours) than promised, and the driver spent the entire drive on his phone, either taking personal calls or using his phone in his hand (which, is illegal in both CT and NY). I tried to address this with the company, and received limited responses despite 4 attempt to reach them. The response I did receive was full of excuses - sure, traffic can happen, but they knew my flight schedule ahead, and should plan accordingly (else, why ask?). I landed in JFK at 230p, and arrived home at 10:15p; this trip should have only been 4 hours, at most. Details: I landed at JFK at 2:30p, called at 3:09p and was given a time of 4:45p, which was fine because this was in the promised 2 hour window. At 4:46p, I was called by Wisla and notified that the driver was running late, and would not arrive until 5:30p. This was outside of the window, and being both exhausted and at the airport for 3 hours by that point, I was not happy. At 5:30p, I went to passenger pickup B at T4 as instructed and waited. At 5:45p, there was still no shuttle. I called, and the person I spoke with informed me to look for the shuttle by description; when I indicated if definitely was not there, they would contact the driver. At 5:55p, I still had no update, and called again. Someone answered, and when I started to explain what I was looking for, they hung up the call and did not answer my immediate return calls. I called again at 6:05p for another update. I was finally told that the driver was at other terminals, and would be there shortly. The driver arrived at 6:30p. an hour and 45 minutes after the initial promised time, and an hour and 20 minutes outside the promised window. After travelling from a 6a international flight, I was extremely unhappy with the service at this point. During the drive home, the driver spent most of his time on the phone, either scrolling through messages or taking personal calls. While I do not mind if a driver does not engage with passengers, I do not condone unsafe driving. Moreover, the use of a handheld device while driving in Connecticut is illegal. If the driver is expected to use the phone for a GPS feature, I would expect that is is mounted on a dashboard, not in the driver's lap or hands at any point. I did not address this directly with the driver because I did not trust the driver, needed to get home, and did not want to be left with an even worse or incomplete trip home. In summary, my problems were: 1. The shuttle was not within the 2 hour promised window. 2. The shuttle was later than the time promised. 3. I had to seek updates several times. 4. The driving with not safe. I contacted the company via email on 07 Jan 2020, detailing the above, requesting a refund of the service, and received no response. I contacted the company again on 09 Jan 2020 asking for a written response on confirmation of my first message. The company replied on 10 Jan 2020, confirming the timeline I indicated was correct, and cited traffic and other passengers as the reason the shuttle was late. Instead of accepting my request for refund, they offered a future complimentary service. The use of the handheld device while driving was not addressed. I responded on 13 Jan 2020 reiterating my initial request for a refund, citing that the handheld device use made me too uncomfortable to ever use the service again. I additionally indicated the poor service and the frequency which I fly to and from JFK also meant this was not a viable solution, which is why I had requested the refund. On 16 Jan 2020, I still had not received a response from the company, and asked for a response to my previous message. read more

Well we made it to our hotel so that counts for something. It took more than four hours (usually takes less than 3). The driver was not familiar with his route and made needless mistakes and had to turn around twice. He drove the entire time with one hand on the wheel and seemed to be shifting the transmission gear shift even though it is an automatic. He would drive along at 55 and then speed up to 75 with the engine roaring just in time to take a curve marked at 45 mph when he would then down shift to slow down. The van has a bad shock or poorly balance tires so was vibrating which added to the sense of reckless abandoned that got us here. After our holiday we are scheduled to return home with this same service. Already paid. I pray that it is better. read more

Looks like they might be out of business now. I had used them before and didn't have any of the issues mentioned by other people, but I should have been a little weary this time I guess when I called the toll free number and got a "# not in service message", but when I called the local (860) number I got through. I bought a round trip from Shelton, CT to JFK and back. I am out in California now on that trip and tried to call them to make another booking, but now the toll-free number goes to a totally different business and the (860) number goes to a personal phone. Website is still up, but shows some errors before it comes up. I am guessing this means they are not in business anymore and I guess that means my return ticket from JFK home isn't worth anything now : ( read more

We used the Wisla Tour Package to Washington DC on August 12th and 13th 2017. Bus - 4 stars - The driver was good and the bus was comfortable. The breaks were fine as well. Hotel - 4.5 stars - The hotel was Hyatt Place in Sterling, VA and it was a good one. The rooms were large and comfortable for two persons. The breakfast was good too. Tour guide - 2 stars - It was clear in the Itenary that the guide will be English speaking. But for the whole journey she never spoke in English. There were some people from Polland and I definitely respect them. But that doesn't mean she should not help the others in the bus. Apart from them there were around 10 Indians and none of them understood what she was talking the whole journey. She was also informed about this and I felt she never bothered much to change herself. So, if you do not mind having a NON ENGLISH speaking guide you can choose their service. Though I liked the other services, I am not planning to book Wisla for my Niagara trip. read more

We scheduled Wisla round-trip service between Hartford and JFK this past month. For our trip to the airport, the service arrived over 30 minutes late. Unfortunately, this was the GOOD half of our trip. We scheduled a pickup at 7:00am to return us to Hartford, and this time, the shuttle arrived at 8:00am. After driving around the block several times, we picked up another couple at 8:30. We spent the next hour either driving around the block or sitting and waiting for another person who never showed up. We could have already been back to CT before we even LEFT JFK. Wisla has a policy where they wait for customers for up to 2 hours. The problem with this policy is that it is in effect whether or not all scheduled pickups are at the same time. Here is a quick example of this terrible business plan: When it works: If 6 people are all scheduled to be picked up at 7:00, but a flight is delayed by 30 minutes, everyone still leaves by 7:30. When it doesn't work (how they actually make the schedule): According to the Wisla driver, they usually schedule pickups for various times. For our example, Couple A arrived at 6:30. Couple B arrived at 7:30. Couple C was supposed to arrive at 7:30. With their "2-hour Waiting Policy" they will wait until 9:30 for the last couple. This means that Couple A ended up waiting for 3 hours. So much for the "up to 2 hours" waiting, right? This shows that their business model is ineffective with how they schedule. Even worse, they don't realize that it is a problem. I called Wisla to discuss this policy, and - after being put on hold - I was told that they believe in their policy and that there was nothing they would do. In other words, they don't care about the satisfaction of their customers, and they are unwilling to fix a deeply flawed plan. If time and comfort don't matter to you, Wisla is the best option. It is for people who focus solely on getting a cheap deal. However, you get very little for your money, so it is anything but a value. read more

Avoid at all costs!! This company charged our card and then left a message on a cell phone number (they were asked not to use because of poor service where we were staying) instead of using the land line number as requested saying they were picking up 3 hours earlier than planned . When we were finally able to retrieve the voicemail message we called them back to let them know that 3 hours early would not be doable for us. They then argued that it was necessary to be at the airport 4.5 hours early for a domestic flight out of Newark. I think not. After a long drawn out fight, we compromised on them arriving at 1pm instead of the paid for 2pm pick up. The car arrived at 12pm, laid on the horn numerous times in a 1 minute time period. When we came outside to explain that the passenger was in the shower, the driver yelled feverishly and then took off. Our card was still charged suspeciously under the name Wisla Express. Save yourself the headache and find another company! read more

I would recommend against using Wisla if you have another mode of transportation to the airport. At a glance, it seems like a very reasonably priced way to get to/from JFK - at $75 each way, this is cheaper than parking a week at or near JFK and paying for gas. However, you do get what you pay for. I took the Wisla Express to and from JFK in mid/late April. My ride to JFK was great - Our driver, Al was fantastic. He texted me when he was close, he was a very safe driver, and he was courteous the entire time. He opened the door for us and loaded/unloaded our bags. Al clearly cared about providing each customer the best customer service. He offered us drinks, rest stops, and made sure everyone was comfortable. We picked up a full van of passengers all throughout CT, but everyone was on time and we made it to JFK with more than enough time to spare. Al is the only reason this is not a one-star review. My ride back, however, was the opposite. I was picked up from JFK very late at night. The driver that I had was clearly not interested in pleasantries. It was only me and two other passengers. I did not feel welcomed. The driver was in a rush and did many offensive/unsafe things throughout the drive. From changing music on his phone while driving, to pretending to drag race a fast car and laughing about it with another passenger, I was extremely afraid at times. He was speeding and failed at many times to stay within the lines of the road. He was honked at by another car on the road. Generally, he was an aggressive driver. As a single woman traveling alone late at night, I felt very unsafe and unwelcome by his services. Providing good customer service was clearly not at the forefront for this driver. I wish I knew his name, but he did not tell me once. I think part of the reason why my second ride was so bad is because it was a stark contrast from my first ride - neither pleasant nor safe. Overall, I would not take another Wisla Express ride and I would recommend against my friends using this service. Al was fantastic - which is why it's such a shame that my ride back was so sour. If you have no other option but to take Wisla, I'd strongly suggest only taking it to/from JFK during daylight hours only. read more

I used their taxi ride to and from JFK 4 times now and never had any issues, they always picked me up on time, last ride driver Andy was super sweet, helpful with the luggage and just made ride fast and easy for me. Used Wisla for round trip transportation to JFK. Thought it was great for the price and they would pick me up at my house. I was wrong. The original request was to be picked up at 2:00 then it got changed to 12:00 or 4:00, no refunds. The driver arrived at my house at 11:30 in Cromwell CT. I got to the Delta terminal at JFK at 5:50. They wouldn't leave CT until the van was full, 2:30. 3 hours in the van until we finally left. We were supposed to be picked up at JFK at 6:30. We called them at 6:00 to check the status and were told the van would be leaving CT soon. We were picked up at 8:30. Not good. Do not recommend them and will not use them again. read more

We bought a tour to Niagara Falls with Wisla Express and we cannot recommend this company. It wasn't well organised at all. Totally not worth it considering the price.: 1. You get no confirmation e-mail or anything that would leave a trace that you had a reservation. If something went wrong they could just tell you to kiss their a**. 2. Couch bus was old (from like 1990s) and dirty. The guide said that toilet at the back is emptied before every tour, but it's not true. Lady that sat near the end said that it stinks. Company probably cuts the costs and cleans it every second tour. The guide said that toilet is present, but we should rather use restrooms during our stops (so that there is s**t overflowing at the end of second day.. - not his exact words, but you get what I mean). Like come on, really? TV screens are present but those are also from 1990s - small and bulky CRT screens (remember those old TVs?). Two of them were not working. There are no power outlets to connect laptop or other device. At least there were USB ports to charge your phone. 3. Website states that tour starts at 6.00-6.30 AM, but bus driver was over 30 minutes late and we left after 7 AM. 4. You get only the general idea what you will see, there is no time schedule on their website. 5. You have to ASK for hotel address, just in case someting happens and you get lost before the bus leaves. 6. Now the hotel - it looks OK, but only because it was renovated/refreshed. It's the first time EVER that we have seen shower to be repainted from the inside!! And the paint was peeling off the shower wall in some spots!! At least beds were decent. 7. Continental breakfast? Seriously? I haven't seen such limited choice in any place before. Not mentioning the quality of food. 8. Now the Niagara itself - I don't know what tickets they had, but come on.. If you want to go to Aquarium or Discovery Center, then you have to buy the tickets yourself. Go and find Discover Pass, it's what Wisla offers and even more for just 46$!! Wisla, you cheapskates... Shame on you. 9. There was no tour guide flag or wristbands... Whatever to keep it easier for the whole group to stick together/find each other. So my advise to you is to remember faces of your tourmates, so that you won't get lost. On the positive side - the guide and driver were ok and funny, did the job well (except for being late!!). So.. next time I would plan my trip on my own and much cheaper (buy Discovery Pass and find hotel online). The only positive thing was that we had a ride directly to Niagara Falls. Except for that - tour with Wisla Express wasn't worth it. read more

Do not use it if you are getting picked off or dropped from Hartford or New Britain or any where in Central Connecticut. You will get picked up first and dropped off last after it goes all over Connecticut. A 2 hour trip will end up taking four or five hours or even more. They'll lie and not reveal the exact drop-off time to you. Making matters worse it is terrible especially in their cramped and badly maintained van without proper AC or heating. You are far better off using Uber or Lyft or even CT Limo!!! read more

I was very pleased with Wisla, Our driver Omar was professional and courteous.He told us if we wanted to stop for coffee or a pit stop to just ask him. We used the service to take us from the cruise terminal in NYC to Hartford. The price was very reasonable. It was a day that started with ice so he left early and sat for almost two hours waiting for us to get off the ship. He called us and told us exactly where to go and to call him and he would be there within minutes and he was. When we arrived in Hartford he said he would wait till our ride arrived to pick us up as it was chilly. After assuring him that we would be fine he left with a nice greeting and a Merry Christmas goodbye. He was also an extremely safe driver. Use them without any doubts, I find some people are just expecting too much and will post negatives for spite. read more

Yoy get what you pay for. This is not a taxi, so do not expect that kind of service. I would recommend it for those who travel with heavy luggae or those who live in places which are not well connected to the airport. I had to wait for 4 hours in the airport before I could fly back home and I had to wait for the driver to pick up 4 passengers, but at least I did not have to take three buses, a subway and a train to get to the airport. Absolutely worst airport shuttle experience I've ever had. Our flight was cancelled and we were in another country. We knew twenty four hours in advance that we would miss our arranged pick up with Wisla as a result of flight cancellation. We tried to get their main number but it would not work from where we were. We managed to get a hold of one of Wisla's drivers who we told our situation to, our new flight times and numbers and asked him to relay it to the dispatcher. We were told upon our arrival we would have to wait seven hours for a shuttle to get to JFK. We had a older woman with us who was ill and Wisla left us high and dry even after explaining this. They refused to refund half our money when we told them seven hours was too long for our elderly companion to wait and in any case we had alerted an agent of the company to our situation and why wasn't A van there for us? The fact is Wisla wouldn't route a van down to JFK unless it was full. This company put my companion In danger and had none of us known anything about NYC we would have been stuck. Luckily I did and for a hundred and fifty more dollars got my group home. Don't ever use Wisla. They are the epitome example of a company who can say they care about their customers but only care about one single thing: Money: pick another company if you don't went to risk your vacation being ruined. read more

They don't deserve even 1 star, horrible experience!!!!!!!! I waited outside at JFK for over 30 minutes didn't see the Wisla van at all, so I decided to call them to see where they are. Called 5 times and every time got a voicemail saying that the mailbox is full. After another 30 minutes someone called me from the agency stating that she will try to get in touch with the driver to let me know what is going on. Calling me back saying that the driver will be there at 10 p.m ...10 p.m??!!! My plane landed at 8:15 p.m !!! Basically it would be a 5 to 6 hr production since they have to drive around the whole airport to collect more people that land at later times then you do. After a very long travel that's the last thing you want to do is wait 2 to 3 hrs to get picked up and drive around the airport in a circle for another 2!!! What's worse with this whole experience is that the people at the Wisla agency don't seem to see that this is a BIG problem and treat you like they are doing you a BIG favor. There attitude is awful the whole customer service is awful, I am surprised that they are still in business!!! Would not recommend this agency to anyone not just for the transport from or to an airport but overall attitudes that they have at the agency. Very excellent service. I had to wait about 1.5 hrs for the pickup end of my trip at JFK on a Thursday, but mainly due to my plane coming in early. I was in no rush. Patrick was a good driver and got us to our sites with care. On the pickup from CT end of the trip to drive to JFK, our driver Dan was most polite and professional. We had 6 clients in the van, and a few of us got locked into a friendly conversation about technology and cell phones. We all joked that of all us clients in the van, there was about 5 languages spoken: Italian, Portugese, Polish, Spanish and Hindu. Quite a melting pot as many of us said aloud, very United Nations-like! We chuckled. I was promised to be picked up at my CT home by 11:00am, and they were right on time. A well run organization. Made it to JFK with plenty time to spare. I would recommend this service to anyone, hands down. I learned of this service through Yelp, so it steered me in the right direction! read more
