Dessert Cider 19%

Dessert cider was delicious, never knew this even was a thing. Only one person working so service was delayed with relatively and empty place. Atmosphere was fun and inviting with inside and outside areas to enjoy and relax. Ideal place to meet up with friends or date Night.

Stopped here for lunch and started with two cider flights. Tried three of the dry ciders and three of the semi-sweet ciders. We only liked a couple of the ciders, the Pomme Pomme and the Royal Red. The Pommeau was pretty good, but even for a dessert cider it was super sweet. The ones on top were mainly drys, which we do not lean towards. Did brisket tacos and a smashed burger with fries for lunch. Tacos had nice cuts of brisket with really flavorful barbecue sauce, which wasn't too thick, along with corn, onions and poblanos. Fries were really good. They were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside with a nice seasoning. Smashed burger was one of the best I've ever had and moist without being greasy. The bun was soft the lettuce and the pickles were fresh and the sauce was really flavorful. There were seats at the bar and all around the rest, along with a few games to play. Outdoor seating was plentiful, but it was rainy and cold, so we sat inside. The bartender was very sweet and friendly.

Great spot to enjoy with friends. I had a cider flight including the cherry and rose. Lots of seating options including some comfy couches and chairs in the corner and patio. Thoroughly enjoyed it!

Ciders are refreshing, taste great, and the selection is diverse. They have a great indoor and outdoor seating area with a nearby food truck as well. I would argue the volume you get is pretty small compared to the price. Trivia on Sundays is always fun

I scoped out the businesses in the Distillery District to see if I wanted to check any of e before the show I was attending at The Burl (across the street). Of the several breweries and distillery, this cidery piqued my interest. A historic rickhouse (place you age bourbon), the space has an airy, industrial feel. You order at the bar and can either sit there or take your drinks to a nearby table or outside space. Traveling solo, I sat at the bar and chatted with the bartenders who were very friendly and knowledgeable about their offerings. They were out of mulled cider which was a let down for so early (7:30 pm) on a cold, rainy night. So I went with the Somethin' Sweet flight for $12. I enjoyed trying out the four offerings and liked all but the seasonal sangria. The cran-apple-ness wasn't my thing. Plenty of parking (except on a sold out site night at a The Burl) and close access to several other places to eat and drink. I'll definitely return to check out a few of their neighbors and have some more of their delicious product!

Since my wife and I are avid "Birders" we had to check this place out with a name like Wise Bird. Located in the Pepper Distillery District, a small family run business that believes apples make great ciders. My wife is gluten free and cider is what she generally drinks. She had the Pomme Pomme Sangria that had notes of baked apple and vanilla. Nothing great but still refreshing. I am not a cider lover I ordered a beer. I was surprised how reluctant the server was and kept pushing me to try "their " cider which is unlike any other. I did and still wanted a beer. She finally handed me a can of Ol Buddy Lager not even asking if I wanted a glass. You pay at the bar and sit wherever you like. There is no music or any kind of atmosphere inside that made us want to stay. There are many other places in the area that I wish I would have chosen over Wise Bird.

Good place for cider. They use Buffalo Trace Distillery barrels to age some of their ciders. The aged Rose is tasty and 10%! That's some strong cider. The server Ryan was very helpful and friendly. The atmosphere is very relaxed and inviting.

Love the atmosphere of this cute cidery. Also as someone that is gluten free, it's nice to have a cidery that I can go to that's local! Definitely recommend.

Looking for a relaxed, chill vibey spot for drinks and made a light nosh? This is probably your groove! We ordered a couple of cider sampler trays, a charcuterie board and my wife got to play "pyro" for a spell as we sat outside enjoying the crisp air, a warm fire and some good eats and drinks. Fun place and we hope to return on a future Lexington trip!

Main takeaways: -Tasty. -Dry. -Great service. Let me expound: My favorite way to spend a day is a long hike, followed by refueling with greasy food while day drinking. I also love trying new things and new places. So after a few hours at Raven Run, and a brief stop in at a winery, we were ready for some hard cider. There are a couple cider breweries in Lexington, and I had yet to visit Wise Bird. Also, I recognized the area where the address was and I knew there were some food options in the Distillery common sort of area. After a stop to get some food, we made our way across the parking lot to Wise Bird. Currently, Wise Bird seems to be the only business in the strip of storefronts it inhabits, so it wasn't nearly as busy as the rest of the spots in the area. That shouldn't stop you from going in! I opted for a flight of what appears to be their flagship offerings. There was confusion here because there were some options that were out of stock, and the menu listed a different price on the laminated paper than what appeared on the chalkboard menu, and both were different than what the actual price was when I asked and was ultimately charged. If you are concerned...pay attention, notice, and ask before you order. That said, I got to try 3 ciders. Theirs run on the dry side, which is not my usual preference. But I love trying new things! Our server was great! Friendly, happy to explain the difference between the ciders, and full of information on upcoming offerings and soon-to-open restaurants in the area. $9 for a flight of three seems a bit price-y, and full glasses are a little on the higher priced side. But the samples in the flight are amply sized, not just tiny little sips. We enjoyed our visit here, despite the price confusion. And I am keen to visit again, having heard of their upcoming collaborations with the nearby distilleries and breweries. Particularly if you like dry ciders, this is the spot for you. If you prefer sweeter ones, or more variety...Pivot is a nearby option. But this is a decent option, and a great addition to the selection of things in the general area where it is located.

So accommodating and nice! We enjoyed our time here for a date night. They have warm drinks, cocktails and a food truck. The seating is indoors or outdoors, fair prices as well.

I've been to Wise Bird a few times but the most recent visit was my first during Covid. They are offering table service and have a small sign that you flip if you need anything, which I thought was a great idea. My friend and I ordered the hot mulled cider and it was delicious. It was the perfect winter drink! They currently have a heated tent for anyone interested although I'm not sure how long they will have it. I've tried a flight of ciders on a previous visit and hope to do this again on my next visit.

After my previous bad experience at Thirsty Fox (reviewed separately), I was looking for a vibe…read moreshift. Ona provided it! A foosball table, a backgammon set, deep wood colors and an art deco vibe. This dark, moody little bar had a friendly bartender and unusual drinks. I had the "I Go Where I'm Led," made with kimchi infused vodka, gin, dolin dry, and celery salt. It did indeed taste like kimchi and was certainly weird. I also had the "Need 3," made with prosciutto basil infused gin sotol, amaro obscuro, bitters, and soda. Also a savory, bizarre drink that I'm glad I tried, but wouldn't get again. They have more conventional cocktails as well, like the Paper Plane, Naked and Famous, Corpse Reviver #2. They have IPAs and plain Miller Lites. They have basic red, white, and sparkling wine. Prices range from 8-13 dollars.

They served others who entered the bar after us, doing shots with them. The bartenders were very rude, online it says they close at 2, one of the bartenders yelled, "It's time to get the fuck out" at 1:10, right after they had finally served us. All the workers were clearly intoxicated/on drugs, and were dancing to static playing on the speakers. I was hoping for a better experience, instead I felt uncomfortable and unwelcome.

It has a very modern lounge look with a great view of the street and people walking by. It was a beautiful day so the windows were open. You almost forgot you were in Lexington. Georgie's only opened a couple of years ago and every friend I heard from that has gone raved about it. While bourbon is a longtime Kentucky treasure, the cocktail scene in downtown Lexington has only recently grown from a handful of weekend spots to a thriving business. On this particular occasion, my wife was at a banquet in the downtown Hyatt, so I took myself out for dinner and drinks at some new places. This was stop #3, and it was by far my favorite. I found a seat right at the bar and started looking over the extensive cocktail list. As I took in the atmosphere, I noticed several couches, a long bar, and some open area by the front. The bartender working while I was there was Jordan, who runs the bar as well as one of my favorite Lexington late night spots, Centro (another 5). And when I say he "runs" the bar, I mean it. He managed to make cocktails and keep the line moving mostly by himself while I was there. He recommended the Quiet Beatle, which I thoroughly enjoyed for a perfectly reasonable price. I got one more vodka soda when things calmed down a bit, and went on my way. There are little bites available, as well as an extensive cocktail and bourbon list. This is definitely a place you can meet a group of friends for happy hour or late night drinks, or have a nice date. I can't wait to come back!
