This was an incredible experience for my granddaughter. Having had my wisdom teeth removed as a young adult. I recall the experience being pretty uneventful. However, a lot of people have had issues and when we stumbled on the wisdom teeth guys, we could not believe the pricing! When we went in, we were all prepared to have all four wisdom teeth removed however, looking at the x-rays, they did not think that her top wisdom teeth which were not impacted or misaligned needed to necessarily come out. This significantly reduced the price that we had to pay. The procedure went on in about 30 minutes and she came out with some great instructions, a prescription, and a kit. within about five days, she was perfectly fine. read more

The process was so easy--they removed my 4 molar teeth and a tooth that had cavity within an hour and sent me home. They did conduct the procedure with sedation and it was a painless process as well. I am looking into opening a malpractice lawsuit as well as reporting the surgeon here to the Texas Medical Board, whatever avenue is open for their horrible conduct. My Fiance was getting her teeth done here, they told us she would be properly anesthetized and it would be 1-2 hours. Upon arrival they said it would actually be 15 minutes. When they administered anesthesia, she didn't have a good reaction to it, something they stated they knew could happen. She was crying and hyperventilating during the effects of the sedation even following when she left. They proceeded anyway and cut out one tooth before being forced to stop. Why they proceeded I will never understand or know. This minute clinic just wants a quick buck and I'm going to make sure the whole world knows it. read more

Genuinely one of the worst experiences I've had. This is at the Austin Location that unfortunately does not have its own review page. From the other reviews, it sounds like if you have a routine procedure with no complications, these guys are efficient. If you don't? Prepare for the absolute worst time, which is the last thing you need when you have complications post-surgery. This has induced so much pain, anxiety, and has been some of the worst experiences I've ever had with medical professionals. I went in for the removal of four impacted wisdom teeth. It was quite a process to get the appointment in the first place due to forms and scheduling, so I thought that they would be just as thorough otherwise. They had me in and out to the point where my memory returns in the car on the way home. The first few days hurt, but nothing that I didn't expect. Then, about four to five days in, I started to have extreme pain. However, their offices were closed for the weekend, and I wasn't sure if what I was feeling was a qualified "Emergency", so I held off on calling the emergency line. Afterall, it stated that that was if you had bleeding problems or something akin to that, while I was largely concerned over the possibility of an infection. Come Monday, I call and get an extremely condescending woman on the phone who essentially implies that I'm just not handling the pain well. "Well, it is just going to hurt", she says, like I did not realize that. She gives me some advice on flushing and adding tylenol, and says to call back. I try several times later that day, and don't get a response until the next when I try again, with a new woman. She tells me to get an over-the-counter toothache oil to help with pain but that there is no doctor available to see until Thursday as they are closed for the week until then, three days later. I'm in tears over this pain, losing sleep, at this point it is difficult to find relief at all. I beg this woman to help, and she says she can make the appointment. I have to wait three days in agony for an office appointment, which was today. The dentist that saw me, a different surgeon than the one who did the original surgery, was the worst medical professional I have met in a long time. He had terrible bedside manner and was incredibly rough with me and my mouth despite my repeated claims of pain. At one point, instead of asking me to turn my head or gently tilting it, he yanks me by the cheek he is pinching. When I cry out, and my mother protests, he says that everything hurts right now from the inflammation, and it doesn't matter what he does. He bruised my cheek. He doesn't say whether or not I have dry socket, both saying that I'm healing fine and also the socket is empty and I'm inflammed, but does end up giving me some cotton inserts and socket gel to use. Which, for the record again, he manhandles my mouth aggressively while applying. He saw me in-between several surgery appointments and it was like he forgot I was conscious and unnumbed and could feel everything he did. When he realizes that I am CRYING and starting to have a panic attack, he roughly pats my shoulder and finally offers a sorry that it hurts as bad as it does, and that it should just heal in another week. The nurse ends the appointment with telling us that she hopes to never see us again, but don't worry, in a good way. She's right, I will never go back to them again even if I have further complications from this, and I certainly won't recommend anyone ever comes to see them in the first place. For people who literally brand themselves around this procedure, you should be able to handle post-surgery complications competently. Absolutely ridiculous. read more

Absolutely amazing staff & I highly recommend! This was my first time being sedated, so my anxiety was through the roof. However, Ms. Lindsey and Ms. Melissa were absolutely PHENOMENAL! One time I left a voicemail but I wasn't near my phone when they called back. I called within a minute immediately and nobody answered and on hold again several times. I was so nervous about getting my wisdom teeth removed but the staff made the process so smooth & easy. I didn't get my wisdom teeth until about 3 years ago without much pain until this past month. My dentist office quoted me an extremely high amount so I called around & finally came across The Wisdom Teeth Guys who had a quote for me $1200 less than my regular office. I immediately scheduled an appointment for today (5/31) because I was determined to eat over Memorial weekend lol. I arrived around 12:30pm but my appointment wasn't until 1pm. However, I was able to fill out some paperwork & get my X-rays done in the mean time. Once 1pm hit they were ready to take me back & went over post-op instructions. Next, came in the anesthesiologist who was amazing! My veins have always been bad but he was able to get mine with ease. He explained what was going to happen & even explained to me what the machine showed -- I'm just a curious person in general. Next, came in the doctor who explained a few things, I got comfortable in the seat closed my eyes & boom next thing I know it's time to get in the wheelchair. I was worried about hearing the cracking & drilling noise but I don't remember anything. The process probably took about 40mins which was nice. With all that being said, I highly recommend that anyone looking to get their wisdom removed The Wisdom Teeth Guys are the place to go. If I could leave 0 stars, I would. This was the absolute worst decision I've ever made in my life. This place is beyond garbage. Not only did they over charge me and never answer my phone calls, or refund what they over charged me. $1000 over charged and beyond repair in pain. This is so bizarre...I had my wisdom tooth removed and then I asked them to provide me an invoice. They delayed it for one week and afterwards sent me an incomplete invoice (no mention of procedure) with only 200$ while I paid 320$. I tried to call them (at least 20 times) but no one picks up the phone. Horrible service -- be careful! read more

My husband told me he could hear me crying out during surgery while he was waiting in the waiting room. While I was under, I bit my lip so hard that it was bleeding, bruised, and tender. As soon as I woke up, I started asking for additional pain meds. The left side was extremely uncomfortable. The pain was so bad on our way home, it was unbearable. It got to the point where I was no longer able to speak. Blood poured out of my mouth for hours. We went through several rolls of gauze trying to get it to clot, but the bleeding never let up. Due to the severe pain and uncontrollable bleeding, we ended up going to ER. ER staff spent several hours trying to get the bleeding to stop. It took them about 5 hours to finally to get my pain and bleeding under control. The nurse practitioner stated "I've never seen a wisdom teeth operation go so wrong. This is not normal." My white blood cell count spiked to nearly 30,000, and they ended up admitting me overnight. My husband finally got ahold of the dentist this morning, and he was completely dismissive of my pain and bleeding. He told my him that I simply "had a a low pain tolerance." He didn't offer to give me a high quality pain control medication. He just told me to "ride it out." I've had teeth extracted before (all 4 of my K9s at once when I was a teenager) and I never EVER experienced anything like I experienced yesterday. It was the worst pain of my life. The lack of compassion from the oral surgeon only added insult to injury. This was the worst thing to ever happen to me.Overall I regret driving 2.5 hours to the wisdom teeth guys. After I left my other dentist office who was supposed to complete my oral surgery but we had too many problems with them we found Wisdom Teeth Guys whose cash price was 500.00 less than the price with insurance from my other dentist's office. They complete everything in one appt so they called me back after about a 15 min wait and completed the x rays. Next is meeting the oral surgeon and then the CRNA for the Anesthesia. My husband said it took about 45 min from start to finish of the actual survey. I am on day 2 and feel great. I'm swollen but no residual pain except in my jaw. I would definitely recommend this office for your wisdom teeth surgery. read more

Came into my appointment pretty nervous and not knowing what to expect. Signed some forms on who was taking me home and to make sure I wasn't pregnant (they give you a test if you ask). Waited like 5 minutes in the waiting area and they called me in for X-rays which took 2 minutes and then off to my "station". It's literally set up like stations, you can see everyone on their individual beds. I sat on my seat and they immediately put an oxygen nose tube and hooked me to the monitor. The nurse went over the instructions really fast, dentist spent like 15 seconds introducing himself then left, and then anesthesiologist came to put my IV in (which was the most painful part because i hate needles). And then all of a sudden they reclined my bed, told me to stick mouth piece in my mouth and next thing I know I am on my couch at home. From when they stuck my IV in to them wheeling me out to the car was 10 minutes. Yup, they took 4 teeth out in 10 minutes. It was a really weird experience for me mainly because everything seemed so rushed and I don't remember anything. All in all, It's day 2 and I have no pain besides maybe my jaw feeling kinda sore but nothing drastic. Only thing I would say is people in there aren't very warming and inviting, they come off as rushed and to the point. I felt like I was in a factory lol. But like I said, it was fast and painless. It was my first time being put under and everyone reacts differently. The guy next to me asked, "Do I have to go on a wheelchair? I feel fine" while I am was a wobbly, laughing, drunk person afterwards. So yeah, that was the fun part. read more

If I could give zero stars to them I would. I booked an appointment over 2 months in advance, called 2 weeks before to ask to move it up a day and they said no problem. Day before my surgery comes and I hadn't heard from them so I call to confirm. They tell me my appointment has been canceled because of medical issues. I don't have any medical issues and not one time did they call to ask me my medical history or ask for a doctors referral or approval. They only issued a refund after I made the call to them the day before and gave no explanation or reasoning behind their choice. My doctor is livid and says it's "just bad medicine". I have never been so disrespected by medical professionals in my live and I will NEVER recommend them to anyone. read more

I just got 3 of my remaining teeth out today and I had a great experience. It started with customer service over the phone. Things are pretty chaotic at work right now, so I had a really hard time finding a day when I could come in, thus we talked on the phone like 20 times. They were super nice and understanding about it. I have two dental insurances and they had a hard time verifying the UTWS one, so they tried to reach me. I spend most of my days in the OR + I had a quick European trip, so they had to leave a lot of messages before I could get back to them. I am tired of dealing with insurance companies in general .. so I told them I would just pay cash to keep this simple.. but they did not stop trying and kept pushing me to save some money. ( I paid $325 instead of ~$1500) .. yet again super understanding and kudos to their patient advocacy:) On the big day ( this morning), I had my procedure done at the Richardson location. Super nice stuff. I don't know which staff member was part of which team but, they were super nice in general. Blanka got my x-ray, Nikki started my IV ( did not feel a thing), the anesthesiologist ( I cannot remember his name ) made some funny joke to put me in ease and knock me out in 5 seconds:) Since then, I got my meds.. my right side is a bit swollen but overall I am feeling great. No bleeding, pain and/or jaw lock. I have a medschool interviews next Thursday, so I was a bit concern about my recovery ..but the doc must have been really great cause I am in less pain than when I got my first tooth out :) Just to prove that this is not a paid review .. there are two things they could improve on: 1: more chairs at the Richardson waiting area 2: I get a discount at any UTSW pharmacy, so if I could have picked my prescriptions up a day before.. I would have saved some money. ( all the meds ended up being $43 at CVs). Anyway, I had a great experience .. and I would use them again .. if I had any more teeth to give :) read more

I am so glad I chose Wisdom Teeth Guys! I found out they were local and made a call on Wednesday to see their availability. Luckily, they had one the upcoming Friday, so I was able to snatch that appointment time. Their patient application form is online, which can be completed on a desktop or smartphone. It takes less than 20 minutes to fill out. Although I didn't have my dental insurance card on me, I got my quote less than an hour after calling and providing other details. When calling, I never had a hard time and in fact they made everything easy for me! I came 15 minutes early for my appointment. The most they needed me to do was sign off a couple acknowledgement forms and identify who was responsible for getting me back home - it all took less than 5 minutes. Shortly, they brought me in to grab a quick x-ray that took about a minute before proceeding to take me to the operation room after I paid. I probably spent less than 10 minutes talking to the team in the room before they started adjusting my chair.... and that was when I unknowingly clocked out. I can only remember hearing some of the sounds or feeling when they moved my jaw during the operation. Otherwise, I was totally at peace. For three wisdom teeth, I spent about 50 minutes inside the building. I didn't forget any memories before or after - when I woke up, I knew exactly where I was and all the conversations I had with the staff. It felt like I could manage to walk by myself, but they insisted that I get pushed in a chair. Originally, I was uneasy about getting the operation because I was worried that I wouldn't be fully conscious of my actions post-op, but really I just took a quick nap in their chair before waking up fully conscious! No silly videos of me!! :) I didn't feel any pain, I still don't feel any actual pain after four days so far, and the most discomfort I really experienced was from clenching my jaws too long. Additionally, their office is hosted in a pre-existing dentist office, so this Richardson office is available during certain days/time (I'm pretty sure every Friday). You can call any time, which they don't mind picking up around close time 7pm. If you need a doctor's note, they'll promptly email it to you. Absolutely consider The Wisdom Teeth Guys!! They are convenient, fast, friendly, and funny. read more

I got my wisdom teeth removed a few days ago and it was just very unprofessional and honestly gross how this office runs. The woman doing my anesthesia dropped her tray in the floor and proceeded to pick it up, not clean her hands and then used it on me. She was not wearing gloves while giving me my IV which is an OSHA violation and frankly just disgusting. My sister is an RDA and was in the room while i was being given my IV sedation. She was appalled with their procedure. The office also didn't collect payment prior while i was in the waiting room. They waited until I was in the room hooked up to all of the monitors, oxygen and had an IV in my arm. I told the nurse my father would be paying and she refused to call him. So i had to pull out my cellphone and call my father to collect payment while receiving an IV. Seriously appalled. It was far cheaper than any other office but seriously unprofessional and using contaminated instruments and no gloves for an IV???? read more

This is a money making operation. They make you deposit $200 and bury a cancellation clause requiring SEVEN DAYS cancelation or you lose your deposit. My ride had to cancel on the day of my appt. And I requested a reschedule FOUR DAYS OUT and they informed me I would forfeit my deposit. They have since refunded this but not without me having to escalate it several times and I told them I would give them a negative review which I am doing. This is a bad business decision and reflects poorly on the quality of care one might receive for this procedure. My daughter just got her wisdom teeth out here and the MD who took her wisdom teeth out doesn't have a real prescription pad for pain medication. She got them out on a Friday and they don't even have an emergency line to get a hold of them. She was absolutely miserable and still is. My son went somewhere else and he barely had pain. Now she has actual bruises on her cheeks and the worst part is she may have permanent nerve damage in her chin and lower lip as she still has no feeling. Again this did not happen with my son. I think this is one of those places with under skilled staff. They are inexpensive it you get what you pay for. I'm trying to see if my oral surgeon can see her now to see if we can fix what they damaged. I do not recommend! read more

I'm so pleased! I would Recommend to anybody. I had suddenly started feeling pain from a wisdom tooth and they got me scheduled within a week. We're SO helpful and punctual with phone calls, never left me hanging or made me play phone tag like so many doctors offices do these days. The front desk and nurse staff are awesome and helped me feel at ease. I was terrified and they were great, as were the doctors, anesthesiologist, and the nurse who accompanied me through the process. Doctor was awesome with answering questions and making me feel confident. I didn't feel a thing and don't remember the procedure at all! All that being scared for nothing. These guys are great! DO NOT GO HERE THEY WILL BS YOU THEN TRY TO RIP YOU OFF!!!!!! I could give a no star review I would. I've been dealing with my wisdom teeth coming in for years and now it's to the point of causing delirium with the pain because I didn't have alot of money for a while. Well now that I was able to afford dental care I was referraled here by a dentist's office and was that I had a $100 dollar discount on two wisdom teeth extractions so I was happy and by reviews was told this was one of the best places to go to, well I call and set up an appointment and they quoted me at $190 for my first payment with $105 installments afterward for a few months. Well I call and give my info and go to pay. I had about $400 on the card I was using at the time. They tell me my card declined. So I call my bank and and ask them why, they tell me it's because my address was put in wrong. I let the wisdom teeth guys receptionist's know and the girl tells me that it had nothing to do with my address that it was just my card, I tell her can you just double check for me my bank is positive that's why it's declining. She said there's no point it's my card and refuses to do anything about it. Well I decide to wait until I get more money to make sure this time, and I even called last week to verify that I would still only have to pay the original quote and the receptionist. Reassures me I will and they just need the card to go through. Well I call today with the amount needed and they tell me I have to pay even more now of $247 because their third party raised their prices. Then their manager says they will honor the original quote, well in the process she tells me there's an issue I tell her she can call me back then I wait for about an hour and she calls and tells me there's nothing they can do and I have to pay the higher prices. Worst dental experience I have ever had and was planning to get the other two wisdom teeth that didn't hurt removed a couple months later. Had all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled on June 30th, so I'm approaching the 24 hour mark. I first heard about them on the radio and had originally planned to try and get in to Texas A&M Dentistry school because of cost, but wasn't able to get an appointment after months of trying. I called to set up and appointment and inquire about pricing with my insurance. I was a little apprehensive giving my SSN over the phone, but that was the only way to do so without visiting the office first to verify cost. The process to complete my paperwork online and get my cost took about a week and they were friendly and courteous during the process. On the day of the procedure, there were 2 patients waiting and the support for 2 other patients. I checked in at 9:00am (appt. was for 9:30) went back to take my X-ray. The technicians were a little clunky with the equipment, but very sweet. One was being trained and the other giving direction. After the X-ray, they called me to the front desk to review all 4 teeth being scheduled to removed and the cost associated with it. It was $50 less than I was quoted over the phone to my surprise. About 5 minutes later, they called me back and put me in the chair to get ready for the surgery. It was about 9:31am, which wasn't bad at all. I believe his name was Mitch that set my IV and changed my BP cuff since it was slightly too small (I'm a bigger guy) and would give me a false reading. About 5 minutes after that the doctor came in, reviewed my X-ray and I agreed with all 4 being removed. I inquired about a 5th tooth that had some decay due to my impact wisdom tooth and its ability to be removed.. He stated that in his opinion it could be salvaged, but that I did have the option to remove as well, but I declined. The procedure didn't last long. I don't believe I was truly totally knocked out, but I do think people have different levels of consciousness during sedation. There was no pain or uncomfortableness during the surgery, just some pressure as he tried to get the stubborn wisdom tooth on my right side. After I left to the office, before obtaining my prescription from the pharmacy, I experienced probably the most pain out of anything I've every done in my life. It wasn't sharp or sudden, just a slow numb/pressure pain from the area that was operated on. I changed my gauze as instructed and bit down to attempt to stop the bleeding. I only kept the gauze in for about 90 minutes, changing out 3 times. After finally taking my pain meds and resting without moving my mouth at all, the pain began subsiding around 1pm. I experienced quite a bit of blood until about 6pm the same day. After my 2nd dose of pain meds (my friend is a pharmacist and was caring for me, she had me alternate between ibuprofen and Tramadol each dose). I could finally speak a little and have some mashed potatoes. I'm currently at the 22 hour mark with no pain or blood. I took my last ibuprofen at 9:30pm last night. After all was said in done, I was there for about 90 minutes from check-in to check out. I was pleased considering the ease of the entire process. I would recommend my friends and family. If you're someone of extreme distinguished taste, you may want visit the office beforehand. It's clean, welcoming and bright...but not the most polished of offices as I've been to in the past. read more

The only reason I gave it a one star is because I can not give them negative stars. IF YOU ARE A MILITARY FAMILY STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS!!! They are ZERO supportive of military families, I took my niece in for xrays and they refused to see her. Initially I was told that the appointment was cancelled due to that fact that the paperwork wasn't submitted on time. However, after completing and submitting the paperwork we received an email confirming that everything was good. When I stated that to her she still refused to see her. Then she stated that due to the fact I'm only her aunt and not her mother, I'm not allowed to bring her in. I explained to her that I was her legal guardian and I had documentation since her mother isn't stationed here. Also, that I have used the same documentation at other health facilities and schools for both her and my nephew, who has had multiple surgeries. She said that if it wasn't a court order, it wouldn't suffice. When I asked to speak to the doctor, she took it upon herself to not call the doctor and refuse my niece. read more
