Excellent dental care at reasonable prices. I had used them prior to going on medicare. I came back because the cost under the Gold Plan is more reasonable than through medicare. I have always received the best service through them than through any other dental office I have dealt with. read more

I was referred to Comforter Dental by a friend about three months ago and had my first visit with Dr. Mark on July 23, 2025, for what was supposed to be a simple check-up, cleaning, and a few fillings. I wasn't in pain and had not been in pain prior to my visit. It was just time for my annual visit. Unfortunately, after the fillings were done and the numbness wore off, I was in severe pain--it felt like my nerves were exposed. I couldn't eat or drink anything hot, cold, or sweet without sharp pain, and even chewing was unbearable. I called the office right away to explain what was happening, but they told me the soonest appointment was three weeks away because Dr. Mark didn't have any openings for two weeks then he would be out of town on the flowing week which would have made 3 weeks that my mouth had been in pain. I tried waiting the 3 weeks , but the pain was too intense, so I saw I took the up on their offer to see another dentist in the same office. Even after that visit, the issue wasn't resolved. I then made another appointment for 10/15/25 to see if the original doctor Dr. Mark could resolve the issue , I called to say I'd be running just a little late because of traffic , and they canceled my appointment on the spot. I asked if I could not be seen today could I please have a refund, since I'd been dealing with this same issue for months, and the issue still had not been resolved by Dr. Mark nor his colleague. I was refused a refund and the appointment was the young lady still cancelled my appointment . This experience has been extremely disappointing, unprofessional and hands down the worst service I have ever received from a medical provider. I've never been treated with such disregard for my comfort or my time. I'm sharing this so others can make an informed decision before trusting Dr. Mark or this office with their dental care. read more

I went in to have a molar extracted. It was a major molar on the bottom right they took over an hour to remove it. I was told that I would get pain medication that I was going to need because it was a very involved. they had to cut through gum and drill the tooth apart. This is where the problem started. They said they called it in but when it didn't show up at the pharmacy they said it was a technical error. After many attempts I never got the pain medication that I needed. 5 days later they finally tell me they don't usually prescribe it for tooth extractions and I need to go to another doctor and have expensive tests done. I already spent $300 and they can't even get me pain medication and wouldn't provide any valid reason why they got an error or offer any solution. I have a feeling they can't even prescribe it. they must have been sanctioned or something. I feel like I've just been lied to and shuffled around even though I'm having major pain from this procedure. Beware of this clinic. read more

Update: It took 8 mins for me to call MCNA dental insurance to confirm that, we DO indeed have coverage. Demaris told me the best they could do was refer me to 211. We were denied services because we are poor. I say this because this is the 2nd incident with Damaris. We called another time and she said Medicaid only sees people every 6 months. I said Feb-August. That is 6 months. She then agreed to book us. After this 2nd incident, I am filing a report with our insurance company and Comfort Dental corporate. Oh and since she kept talking about a portal. I went to the MCNA Dental website mcnatx.net. It lists our benefits. They waited until I came unto the office to tell me that they did not confirm coverage of our insurance. Damaris said she called me an hour before to tell me. I then attempted to call my insurance because we do have coverage and the receptionist Emily said that I would be on the phone too long that they would have to reschedule our appt. I missed work, my kid missed school.. Our pediatrician has our insurance info, our eye Dr has it (both of which we have seen in the last week) but Mc Cormick's office Comfort Dental on Arapaho could not retrieve it? I also think it has to do with my kindergartner being on chip now and Medicaid before. This is discriminatory and illegal. Demaris and Emily kept escalating it and when I asked to speak to the office manager. Another girl walked to the front and this is when Emily yelled at me 3 times for me to leave. Emily's behavior and response was unwarranted. The girl that came from the back then said they could see my daughter, after being yelled at and being told by the insurance coordinator that she didn't know the number to our insurance-it really leads me to question the credentials of the staff and I chose to walk out. read more

Truly felt like I was just a number who was given very sloppy work. McCormick rushed through my procedure which other dentist said should've taken at least 50 minutes to execute. It took him 10 minutes for a "deep" clean. He also gave me a "flipper" which looked like it was made in a kindergarten arts and crafts class. It ended up cracking my good tooth directly next to it. Save yourselves money and time, go to a professional who takes pride in their work and only approves the best quality and has good ethics. McCormick is anything but. I will give them 4 stars. The dentist who helped me was great, and very nice and caring. I have a fear of dentists so that was very important for me. However, I was getting something minor done but was there for 3 hours. With only maybe 20 minutes of it being work done. Poor guy was in an office with 5 appointments at once going to each one by himself. However I will return for the fact that my fear is worth being relieved no matter how long I have to sit lol. read more

I had been going to Comfort Dental for many years. Dr. Shakespeare was my dentist there. Mark McCormick was also a dentist there. I loved Dr. Shakespeare but sadly he "retired". I started to see Mark McCormick. Today was my last time there because Dr McCormick told me I could not come back. He said I was rude and aggressive. At first I did not believe him until he gave me a letter stating the same. I never felt like he liked me but I realized today that he is a very unhappy man. He has not been able to keep another dentist there that I know of since Dr Shakespeare left. Makes me wonder if he drove Dr Shakespeare away with his behavior. Anyway when I told him I thought he was very unhappy and I would pray for him... he said you do not want me to tell you what I think of you. OMG...really! I am glad to be done with Comfort Dental and do not recommend them. McCormick also told me that women especially older women were very hard to work with. The new dental hygienist slammed the X-ray machine on my face on side big bruise. Huge turnover. Dr Shakespeare was good until he overbook his patients. Hard get in and he had a nervous breakdown quit being a Dentist. Dr McKormick is great but when Dr Shakespeare quit. I just feel sad about this place because at first they seemed to be a good place. Somehow my insurance and these guys couldn't get to an agreement and now I have to pay a lot of money out of pocket. Doc. McCormack wasn't his best and the staff was worse. I have had yelp for about 4 years but never done a review but my experience with Dr Shakespeare and his assistant was so pleasant,I felt a need to provide a review. Unlike other dentist, I was never left alone with my mouth open during the procedure. Communication of each step of the procedure was helpful. Price was reasonable. It was my 1st time using my insurance and he took me to a room to explain how my insurance worked and the procedures I needed to do. He noticed a series of text came in during my procedure and encouraged me to respond if I needed to. Good rapport through the procedure. He genuinely cares about his job and his patients. I went to these guys for a long time and they were great. It does kind of feel like if you have any sort of complication Dr McCormack will immediately refer you to his oral surgeon. Dr McCormack was someone I referred pretty much all my friends and family too but the last time I went I started questioning why. He wasn't able to answer my questions and left me more uncomfortable and confused to when I came in. I finally found a dentist who did my procedure without needing to refer me to an oral surgeon and after a year I'm out of pain and definitely more informed. If you need anything other than a check up or your teeth cleaned I would probably recommend looking elsewhere. read more

Had two teeth pulled and one root canal. I heard Dr Young tell the assistant that they were short on the root canal but he just filled it and sent me home. I even seen on the Xray that he hadn't went all the way down on the tooth but was hoping it wouldn't hurt so I just left like an idiot without saying anything. A few weeks later I go to an endodontist to have a root canal on the tooth next to it and they inform me it has to be redone because he didn't go the full length of the root and it was hurting me when I would drink or eat. I wasn't about to go back to the place that couldn't do it properly in the first place to let them attempt to fix it. Endodontist have special equipment just for root canals that can measure the exact distance of the root so I wish I had just went to one of them to begin with for the root canal and I would still have my $700 in my pocket and no tooth pain. Everyone at this office was very nice and I would have no problem for anything other than a root canal here. I just wish he had explained why he went short and didn't attempt to go the full length and complete the root canal properly. read more

I made an appointment at 8:30 am and explained before making the appointment that my son needed to leave by 9:30 am. They said that would not be a problem at all. Well, we arrived at 8:20am and waited for almost an hour. When they finally called us back at 9:15, they said they would not be done in time. So we left. We will not be returning to this dental office. It is rude and disrespectful to waste people's time and effort. Have been seeing dr. Shakespeare for about 5 years now and he's taken care of our family's dental work phenomenally. The staff at Comfort Dental are very kind and compassionate about their care for patients and we absolutely love the service we receive. The billing very straight forward, no weird hidden fees. Every charge is explained and they make sure you're comfortable with the price prior to doing any services. The work that was done is spot on and holding strong. We come back for check ups and cleanings. They are gentle with their cleanings, especially compared to other places. We recently moved about an hour and half or so away, but we make that drive because Comfort Dental and Dr. Shakespeare are just that good. I have been a patient of Comfort Dental, specifically Dr. McCormick, for several years. I am 59 years old & seen more dentists than I'd care to admit or remember. Having said that I feel compelled to call out a couple obviously false Yelper's reviews. I have been to see Dr McCormick probably a dozen times, from those visits the following was my personal experience. I got my teeth cleaned on an initial visit, was never kept waiting more than 5-10 minutes, was never left waiting in a chair, was seen without an appointment for an emergency. I was recommended a "Bruxor" (sp ?) crown due to my crazy teeth grinding in my sleep. I go thru mouth guards like chewing gum & the resulting need of crowns was becoming astronomical. The specialty crown had a lifetime warranty & was more costly. Dr McCormick could have done, as other dentists had, just slapped in the least expensive crown AGAIN.... he worked with me on the cost & allowed me pay in 2 payments. I did need the warranty of this specialty crown & it was sent to Dr McCormick's office FedEx overnight & installed the same day at no charge. One has to wonder the true validity of a "lifetime" warranty. Well I am able to verify, it does exist at this dental facility. To the Yelper who stated Dr McCormick raised his voice & yelled at her, I call all out BS. I have been present when a situation presented that most of the world would have hollered & witnessed Dr McCormick remain very calm & professional in his tone & demeanor. Any and all who know Dr McCormick or are his patients, would agree with me, that you obviously have never been around him or spoken to him. Perhaps you are a competitor or someone disgruntled because you weren't hired or maybe a relative of someone who had to be terminated. But you should is pick a dentist that you have actually profiled their personality before you start saying, in a public forum, things that are obviously not true. Line up 100 people who have encountered Dr McCormick & listen to them laugh when you say he yelled or treated anyone unfairly or in any way lesser than the best of professional care. I highly recommend Comfort Dental, both this location & the one in Mesquite. My experience with both has been nothing less than excellent. By far superior to any other dental facility I have encountered. I am a legitimate Yelper. Of my 190 Yelps, this is the 2nd time I have felt the need to call out, what I felt was, slanderous & vicious untruth. Read my Yelps, they're from all over the country, all true opinion or experience. I have no association with Comfort Dental, I just can't stand people lying for a dollar or retaliating for what was probably very fair & just. The pediatric dentist my children normally see does not take our new insurance. I took them here, even though they were not technically a pediatric dentist. My son is only 3 so I was a little worried. They were great with both kids. Very upfront about pricing, and I was surprised about how much cheaper they were than the place we have been going for the past 8 years. We will definitely be back. read more

Dr. Shakespeare is honestly one of the best dentist around. I appreciate his meticulous work. My smile has never looked better!! I highly recommend Dr. Shakespeare as he cares for you and your smile. On my initial visit he did my cleaning personally. After the x-rays he took me in a private room and went over concerns he had and my goals for my teeth now and in the future. He then took the time to show me what my insurance would cover so that I would be prepared for our plan. I came in after having seen a previous dentist who quoted me $7,200 for two root canals and crowns. I was suspect and called Comfort Dental to get a second opinion. Not only does this office have the most reasonable prices, they got me in immediately and the minute the dentist saw me, he took new x-rays and saw that I didn't need a single root canal and that the cause of my pain was from poor bite precision on previous molar crowns. I was able to eat immediately after numbness disappeared no pain whatsoever, and all the teeth feel so nature no discomfort whatsoever!! It was strange for me at first since I'm used to driving up to fancy buildings in medical centers but when I was looking for a new dentist after moving this place had great reviews. And it has been fantastic. My teeth look great! And Dr. McCormick is funny and keeps your mind off of realizing your having your mouth worked on. I scheduled an appointment to get my teeth cleaned. They had me waiting an hour for a consultation and then to do X-rays. This took about 30 minutes and then they told me that they did not usually do teeth cleanings on the first visit. I'm not sure why no one ever bothered to tell me this on the phone considering I specifically stated that I wanted my teeth cleaned when I made the appointment and when I had the consultation. I almost walked out while I was waiting for an hour and definitely should have. Also no one ever said anything to me about what was taking so long until I asked where the restroom was and they told me and that the dentist was currently with another patient. The office should not have overbooked so much that they have patients waiting for an hour. They also state they provide lower cost dental procedures but quoted me $608 for a crown and I have dental insurance. I had a very pleasant experience here. First the doctors himself went over my insurance with me, something that has never happened at any other dentist. Then as he was cleaning my teeth he was telling me just how the bacteria can destroy my teeth and some ways to help prevent it. He was very concern with my comfort and making sure I was okay. After the cleaning he drew diagrams and explains some more what was going wrong with my teeth and even talked to me about the payment. This has been this most time that any dentist has spent with me. It was very informative and helpful. I will definitely be going back here and I recommend it for others. It doesn't looks like it from the outside but the people are very nice and dr. PAIN FREE FINALLY! This was my first time coming here after I had been suffering prolonged pain from my tooth extraction performed by another dentist. There was no extensive paperwork to fill out, the staff was incredibly friendly, and I was in and out within the hour! Dr. Shakespear was such a pleasure to work with!
