Truly terrible. I had been a patient at this practice for over a year (maybe two?). Monthly when I try to get my antidepressant refilled the receptionist (Norelle or Michelle) tell me I need to make an appointment. This is a direct contradiction to what my NP tells me each time I see her (which is that I need to be seen every 3-4 months to get my medication refilled). This is likely because I've been relatively stable on the same medication for about 20 years now. Further, Norelle has accused me multiple times of not keeping appointments or not making appointments every 3-4 months as instructed by my provider. When I looked back in my calendar, I have a record of my appointments-- one every three to four months. On a number of occasions Norelle has recommended to me that if I "can't keep my appointments" every 3 months, I should "find a new provider." I've actually never missed an appointment here?? As a licensed healthcare professional, it seems extremely unprofessional and downright unsafe to have a receptionist dispensing medical advice in direct opposition of the clinician. While I have never seen Dr. Wirga personally, it speaks to her work as a physician that she allows her office to be run this way. For the well being of mental health patients and maintaining the integrity of the field and their practice, Drs. Wirga and the clinicians working with them should better communicate their protocols amongst themselves, their patients, and their office staff. read more

I have been seeing Dr. A Wirga for 10 years now. She is consistently supportive, professional and warm. Her astute reframing of issues always help me process things I'm grappling with. I look forward to our appointments. I feel so lucky to have found her. I know some other reviewers have found her office staff frustrating -- I have never found it to affect the quality of care and feel that they are normal for a medical front office. What matters to me is Dr. Wirga and so I wanted to write a positive review. read more

My experience with Wirga tended to be highly variable depending on her mood. There was one session in which she was empathetic to my needs and lifestyle, which struck me as odd. She is normally not warm and uninterested in what I have to say unless they are definitive symptoms. She especially frustrated me with callous statements during times of serious distress in my mental health. I dislike her approach, however, she is clearly intelligent and understanding of the medicine she is prescribing. Take it with a grain of salt, maybe I just dont like psychiatrists. read more

I was referred to Dr. Wirga by my GI doctor. She is the best doctor I have ever met. She is extremely knowledgeable, compassionate and very caring. When you meet her you can tell she really cares about her patients. I was going through extreme trauma due to some life changing event and she helped me get through it. She responds your questions through Portal and even answers your phone call. I cannot express enough how grateful I am to Dr. Wirga and her staff. We need more compassionate doctors like her in this world. read more

I have see Dr Wirga now for about 10-12 years. While I enjoy seeing her, her front office staff is horrible. I I have followed her around different locations and have dealt with it for years only because the fact I was comfortable with Dr Wirga. Until last June...I had called in my prescriptions to Walgreens Wed afternoon when I realized I was taking the last dose. I never heard anything from Drs front office and went after work to pick my meds up Thursday after work and they were declined. Of course the office at this time was closed so I had to go with out my needed meds until the following day which was a Friday when I could call. I called and was told Dr was out of the country and I needed to be seen before I could receive my meds because apparently I had missed an appt the month before. This would normally not be a problem I would have ran over to see a dr I never had seen before but I was feeling the effects of not being on my meds I have been on for 10 years. Problem was I was the only one at the office and I could not shut the office down. The two receptionist were still giving me a hard time even though I asked if I could only get a few of the meds to get me through Monday since no one could see me Friday and mind you she had me on 4 different meds! They declined that as well. I told them I would shut down the office 30 minutes early and be there before 5:00 and apparently that would not do either. End of story I ended up in urgent care due to the incident. I was prescribed my meds by my gen dr and NEVER even heard from Dr Wirga until I called her recently and it was treated with no remorse or comparison. This only proved to me I was simply a dollar sign the entire time when I felt so differently...like she cared about me. Very disappointed. read more

Dr. Wirga is very competent, knowledgable, warm, caring, supportive. Coordinates medical and mental health issues including medication coordination well. Consults routinely with other members of patient health care team. Appointments are on time. Able to work in urgent appointments quickly. Practice well covered after hours. Gives patient information to self manage as much as possible. Refers appropriately to other medical or mental health health team members. Would highly recommend. read more
