I honestly thought a lot of the same as some other reviewers but it really turned out it was mostly my automatic learned responses and thoughts getting in my way and prior treatment by psychiatrists. Although I haven't always loved the office staff, I do love Dr. Sandoval and my therapist. It took time, Like everything else for me to get there and believe they believe in helping and whatever their clients best interests are. For me, I like to do things as natural as possible until I can't. They have understood that and not been pushy, Even when I pulled off meds alone and had to admit to the Dr because I was having wacky anxiety i wasn't chastised for trying to pull off of them just advised the time was perhaps not right. I don't think it's a "lack of compassion" but we have mental illness and disorders we don't need to be treated like victims because we're not. Victim mentality gets you no where in life. If you want someone to OooOo and ahhahhh with you and woe is me, this might not be the right place, but if you want real help, support and stability of the same therapist and Dr I'd definitely give it a try. She is also pretty funny which is a huge plus for me, it helps you connect on a more personal level than feeling like they're just a Dr writing scripts. read more

I love Dr. Sabrina. I have seen multiple doctors and they try to push certain prescriptions based on who their reps are or the "newest meds." I've tried so many medications and I know what works for me personally. Dr. Sabrina supports me through all of my medication needs as well as warns me about potential side effects; I ask her questions about various side effects whether it be mental, physical, sexual, and she is completely honest and it helps us find the right solution together. She is empathetic and understanding; however if you're looking for a psychologist, she might not be the right person for you...but she is a psychiatrist not a psychologist. She is a fantastic psychiatrist in my opinion. I continue to see Dr. Sabrina because of the level of comfortability, honesty, respect and real-ness she provides to my life and my psychiatric needs. Horrible doctor who seems more interested in pushing pills than listening to why the patient is even taking pills. After being 20 minutes late she wanted to up my minor daughter's dosage without even knowing why she was taking medication. She is dangerous and shouldn't be allowed to practice. read more

Many clients personally ask for her by name because of her great bedside manner and caring attitude. She has recently transferred from county to private practice with Progeny Psychiatric Services on Broadway Ave in Long Beach. I have been seeing Dr. Sandoval MD for approximately 2 years. During that time I have found her to be one of the best psychiatrists in the Los Angeles/ Orange County area. She has never forced a treatment on me and we both come up with solutions to my different psychological problems that can arise at any time. In the past, I have had very bad experiences with multiple psychiatrists. I have been seeing both a psychiatrist and psychologist since I was 13 and I am currently 37. I have gone through several over the years. Dr. Sandoval is probably in my top 2 ever if not my favorite I have ever had. She has treated me for both depression and panic attacks til this very day and I am still a current patient. I have zero qualms about recommending Dr. Sandoval for Panic Attacks and Depression. I agree with the negative reviews previously posted about Dr. Sandoval - condescending, not willing to listen or answer questions, etc. She seemed nice the first time I met her, but when I had problems getting a refill on my medication and I requested an appointment to meet with her about it - she refused to see me. The receptionist said she was "too busy." The office staff is disorganized and unprofessional - voicemails not returned, pharmacy can't get refills for meds, lots of miscommunication, etc. Save yourself the frustration - there are better mental health practices in Long Beach. read more

I made a yelp account just to write this review. I went here for three months or so, in all of my visits she never tried to figure out what was actually causing my depression. She would basically pull different random medications out of her ass and prescribe them to me. If they didn't work, she upped the dosage. If they gave me bad side effects, she upped the dosage. read more

Ridiculous. Terrible and dangerous practice. She only spent less than 25 minutes for my husband as a new patient. No assessment nor evaluation, no treatment plan. She did not answer the questions my husband had. The only thing she did was to issue a new prescription of saboxone. read more

I would not recommend friends or family to Dr. Sandoval she does not do an assessment or diagnosis and lacks experience with serious mental illnesses such as bipolar, bpd etc. She comes off as nice your first visit although I thought it was odd that she could treat me & prescribe medication without a diagnosis in the little time she spent w me my 1st visit. She is very condensing if you tell her that meds are giving you negative side effects or that your not feeling better. I went to another doctor that took time to do an assessment and evaluated me to prescribe medications accordingly. This doctor acknowledged my concerns and gave me a diagnosis and meds that are actually helping. This doctor showed humanity unlike Dr. Sandoval. Folks if you have a bad experience with a psychiatrist don't give up fight for your mental health. Dr. Sandoval's job is just a paycheck to her she does not care about quality of care.
