After researching the local gyms, fitness studios, and health and wellness centers, I dropped by RPM Fitness. Even before I entered the gym I was greeted outside by an employee (maybe the owner?). I was also happily greeted at the front desk and given a tour of the facility, with a brief overview of classes, busiest times of the day, and pricing. Not yet ready to commit, I went home. Now, a little less than a week later, I've joined as a member and am happy I did. The facility is organized, staff is friendly and helpful, locker room (at least the men's) is clean, and equipment/space meet all the needs of a well rounded gym. I especially like the open concept in one of the rooms which allows me to perform circuit training routines and not feel like I'm stepping on someone else's toes. Also, I particularly enjoy kettle bell, battling rope, and med ball exercises, all of which are available. You can really feel the inviting atmosphere even from the members. It's like a community where you're important, which is really refreshing to see compared to these giant facilities that have 4000+ members and you become just another $ sign. I've excited to get back in for another workout! Now, let's just see if Yelp! thinks I'm worthy of making the front page or tucking my thoughts away on their not worthy page.

Unless Wave replaces this good for nothing manager with someone that actually has some minimal basic decency as a human being, let alone sufficient enough be the manager of a reputable gym in Seaport, members and its staff will rush out and seek the many other gyms in the area.

If you work office hours and HAVE to come in between 5-9 on weeknights, don't waste your time with this location. It's unusable. Constantly overcrowded, nowhere near enough benches, station machines, or the most popular individual machines. What they do have, especially the station machines and benches, is usually taken up by groups and/or individuals using multiple sides at once. And when they're not. It's still a competition when one of the 2 (sometimes only one) of any given machine frees up. And on the flip side, they have 3-4x the number of cycles and ellipticals that are ever in use at one time, including at peak. So much wasted space and money on unused equipment. The renovation is super nice, but they absolutely dropped the ball on the opportunity to reconfigure and load up on the équipement in the highest demand. It was already a problem pre-COVID/pre-renovation, but was manageable if you were smart about it. The population boom in Eastie has finally caught up, and this location just can't support a good customer experience at the volume it's doing. The spa is 10/10 and seems to rarely be used by most people, so I guess that's a plus if you're into that. I have a black card and will be checking out other locations in the city and the new-ish Revere location, and changing my home club if one of those works out better. Otherwise I'll be finding a new gym altogether.
