It's been a while since my last Yelp! review, but I thought RPM Fitness was worthy of a review…read more Having recently moved to Winthrop I've been looking for a local gym. After researching the local gyms, fitness studios, and health and wellness centers, I dropped by RPM Fitness. Even before I entered the gym I was greeted outside by an employee (maybe the owner?). I was also happily greeted at the front desk and given a tour of the facility, with a brief overview of classes, busiest times of the day, and pricing. Not yet ready to commit, I went home. Now, a little less than a week later, I've joined as a member and am happy I did. The facility is organized, staff is friendly and helpful, locker room (at least the men's) is clean, and equipment/space meet all the needs of a well rounded gym. I especially like the open concept in one of the rooms which allows me to perform circuit training routines and not feel like I'm stepping on someone else's toes. Also, I particularly enjoy kettle bell, battling rope, and med ball exercises, all of which are available. You can really feel the inviting atmosphere even from the members. It's like a community where you're important, which is really refreshing to see compared to these giant facilities that have 4000+ members and you become just another $ sign. I've excited to get back in for another workout! Now, let's just see if Yelp! thinks I'm worthy of making the front page or tucking my thoughts away on their not worthy page.

TriYoga is amazing! Usually yoga classes feel pretty impersonal to me because the instructor stays in the front and rarely goes around to correct posture or positions, so you never know if you're actually doing everything correctly. Brahmi not only demonstrated the moves, she walked around and corrected a lot of people's stances, giving them tips on how to make a stretch more effective or comfortable. If you're a beginner to yoga, TriYoga is the place for you! I could actually feel my back pain improve throughout the lesson and I felt great afterwards. The studio is conveniently located with lots of street parking. I think there may be a lot, but I just parked on the street where there is four hour parking. It's a shoe-free environment the moment you walk in (which I love) and the atmosphere is very calm and relaxing. There's tea available if you want some. Inside, there is a mediation room (where there are free meditation classes on Sunday morning), two yoga studios, a big coat room, and four bathrooms (though one was out of commission due to a broken lock). I had a Nift deal for two free classes, so I arrived 15 minutes early to sign up for the class I want, but otherwise, it looks like you can just book the classes online. Prices are fair, being about $20/class; there's a beginner's deal where 5 classes are $25 total. This place is a gem and I definitely recommend!

I am for now taking all the gentle yoga classes I can to hopefully get into the advanced stuff one day. Like other reviewers said, the studio is clean and well maintained. No pressure here either, the instructors are the best. Don't have a yoga mat or props?, TriYoga has plenty of clean items to go around.
