The studio was easy to find, the woman at the check-in desk was efficient and friendly at getting us signed up, and she even let us borrow two yoga mats for free which was much appreciated as we were traveling without our usual personal mats. The studio upstairs was quite hot (unintentionally, I believe) but Alli kept everyone motivated and present despite the heat. The studio is sizable and pretty with lots of assistive props to borrow. Alli's flow was really dynamic and challenging. I also am a yoga teacher, and I found myself enjoying her class a lot! Would definitely come back if we are in the area again!

They offer gentle assists, anatomically safe instruction (Jenna is meticulous about this), and the right balance of challenge and variation for all levels. I come from a different tradition than Jenna's training but have always left learning something new, and appreciating her style, humility and compassion. The space is warm, beautifully done with a combination of greenery, that reclaimed wood post and beam architecture, and clean lines. There's not a lot of Hindu influence here - their music selections are mostly ambient, modern relaxation or upbeat tracks that don't compete with instruction. Don't get confused -- enter through the Main St. door, as if you were going to the bank, but keep going into the building, and up the first half flight of stairs, you're there! This is a wonderful business in Medford, I want to help hang permanent decal signs on the windows, as it's really hard to know that studio is even there. Kim, the owner, was really nice and you can tell is so proud of this place. I'm so glad it's a fitness option in Assembly! Everything about the experience is so thoughtfully laid out - from the clean space, supremely organized props room, to the accessible sanitizing supplies. Believe me - an experience is about every touch point of your visit - even the sanitizing! My first instructor, Anahi, was great and the class was both challenging and zen - which is my favorite yoga combo. The energy of a class is 100% set by the instructor so she was fantastic, and set the tone on optional adjustments in poses given some previous injuries. Looking forward to trying a few more classes in my trial - they offer a $36 (?) 3-class trial within 7 days so it's a great way to check out a few different classes to see if it's for you or not.

It's been a while since my last Yelp! review, but I thought RPM Fitness was worthy of a review…read more Having recently moved to Winthrop I've been looking for a local gym. After researching the local gyms, fitness studios, and health and wellness centers, I dropped by RPM Fitness. Even before I entered the gym I was greeted outside by an employee (maybe the owner?). I was also happily greeted at the front desk and given a tour of the facility, with a brief overview of classes, busiest times of the day, and pricing. Not yet ready to commit, I went home. Now, a little less than a week later, I've joined as a member and am happy I did. The facility is organized, staff is friendly and helpful, locker room (at least the men's) is clean, and equipment/space meet all the needs of a well rounded gym. I especially like the open concept in one of the rooms which allows me to perform circuit training routines and not feel like I'm stepping on someone else's toes. Also, I particularly enjoy kettle bell, battling rope, and med ball exercises, all of which are available. You can really feel the inviting atmosphere even from the members. It's like a community where you're important, which is really refreshing to see compared to these giant facilities that have 4000+ members and you become just another $ sign. I've excited to get back in for another workout! Now, let's just see if Yelp! thinks I'm worthy of making the front page or tucking my thoughts away on their not worthy page.
