It was such a modern and laid back vibe, we weren't rushed at all despite having to sign up for a time slot. Everyone was super helpful with the process as well. There's several scents to choose from and there's a great variety so there's something for everyone's taste. Your vessel is included and there's options to upgrade. Loved the option to add glitter and dried flowers. I thought it was such a nice touch that while you wait for your candle to set, there's a selection of games to play. The location is BYOB. You can book individual reservations and they do private parties as well. It was easy to find parking in the area. I will definitely be back and I will be sure to bring my empty vessel back for a discount.

My first time at Above Art Studios was super fun! I went for a SOLD OUT Trap and Paint birthday…read morecelebration on a Friday. The start time was 9pm but we started painting around 10:30ish so you have wiggle time to be late since parking isn't the greatest. If you want to pay for the parking garage you can, there's one located not too far from the studio. If you are looking for street parking there are spaces, if available, in front of the studio. Since it was after parking meter hours it was free to park. This paint and sip was Cardi B themed which I LOVED. They provided cups and wine openers for us since they know most of us forget that anyways. If you're celebrating a birthday they'll provide you with a separate table to put your cake, food, decorations, etc. There's a coat rack in the front which is good since the seat area isn't too spacious. You're going to be a little cramped but once you start painting, the drinks are flowing and the music is playing you're going to get to know your neighbours really well! Above Art Studios is a black-owned business and the owners are talented, helpful and passionate about this place they genuinely want you to have a great experience which I did have! Not only is the venue amazing to paint in, it also has a gallery in which you can purchase art and mini prints. You feel inspired walking around looking at the different art pieces. I will definitely come back to this location! Thank you for an amazing night!

It's nice to see so many community based activities happening and how celebrated wholeheartedly in this gallery. I'm a big fan of the tiny pricks project. And the opening of this show had presentations and speakers by the staff. Their style is very admirable. They seem to really cherish the local people who took the time to read such lovely pieces for this project. The pillowcases had embroidery. And it really told a little story of the artist. Perhaps it's something they appreciated in there in their hometown, or maybe it's some thing that concerns them , like the war going on in Uzbekistan, or the changing seasons, or concern for recent loss of Woman's Rights in The States. And it's embroidered so that seems so wholesome and so feminine and time engaging so every piercing of the fabric is so personal. Nice venue. Nice folks.
