I spoke with my Aunt today and she said a guy came in about his ankle issue and he had made an online appt but they "couldn't find it" and turned him away. Who turns a person away with an injury? At first I did not know why, but now I understand that medication assessment for side effect and if I am tolerating it well, or if I need a med increase or decrease, is necessary to avoid other issues. I felt very uncomfortable but thought it may have been normal since he was a professional. Now that I am a few years older, I realize it was not normal and not professional. This was completely inappropriate and he took advantage of his position. Just a warning, especially if you are a female. I wrote this review on google, received a response with the responder assuming I am a male. I am a female. And to be told nothing wrong was done is mind blowing. This is why women do not speak up and many of the women who have left reviews took years to speak up.

The only reason why I don't give 5 stars is that the phone number there, since COVID, doesn't connect you with the front office. It is just an answering machine that says goodbye to you at the end. Of course, you can contact them via email or their website but for quick questions, it would be helpful to speak to someone on staff quickly rather than wait for them to get to your email. And I have called throughout different times of the day. Other than that one detail, I really enjoyed my appointments here and have referred family and friends to this practice numerous times.

Today however, I tried to schedule a next available appointment to get diagnosis and start treatment for severe pain in my left foot. Because I have not been to the doctor since 2011 (I have been traveling out of the country professionally during that time), I am now considered a new patient and cannot get an appointment for more than a week. This is done with no regard to my history with this practice, and no interest in my story or my very real pain. The scheduler's mantra of "that's just the way things work" is horrible and the essence of everything wrong with US health care. While I look elsewhere to figure out how to get treatment and manage my pain, I want you and the reading public to know it will not be with this practice . You have lost a "family" member and increased pain and alienation rather than fostered healing and compassion.

I was dealing with a very private matter and scheduled an appointment. On the day of the appointment, the office called me to ask about the purpose of my visit. (We covered this when I made the appointment that I was scheduled for.) I told her. She placed me on hold 3 different times for over 10 min each time. I had to hang up and call back because they didn't have the decency to say anything to me during my long holds. When I showed up for the appointment, I was told, WHILE I STOOD IN THE LOBBY, that the owner said I could not be seen given the fact that lawyers were involved and they did not want to go to court. I then asked to be seen for an annual exam as I had not had an annual in about 2 years. I was denied care for that as well. They told me the director would come out to speak to me but no one did. Two front desk employees began speaking in spanish and one of them told me that I couldn't be scheduled for an annual visit until a month or 2 from that date. As an established patient, this is disgusting behavior. The nature of my visit was something that was extremely delicate. A PCP is the 1 doctor who should know everything about their patients PERIOD! Denying an established patient care is unethical.

I Loveee Dr. Burns…read more She's my go-to doctor. She does everything, so she's my primary doctor, my lady doctor, all that stuff all in one. She's very friendly, very personable and I feel comfortable around her. I've had a few primary doctors in the past, and most see you for 2 minutes then leave, I had about a million questions regarding health issues and she answered them, and actually had a conversation with me and wasn't in a rush out the door. The only thing that is hard is she is usually very booked up so it could take a week or three to get an appointment if it isn't urgent. I recommend anyone to her, she makes everything a good experience.

Her practice has since grown and she is now located in Avalon Park. You know how most people complain that their doctor doesn't listen or you feel rushed? Well you won't find that here. They listen and are proactive with your care. Even their nurse practitioner is great! I've never felt like they don't care. Bloodwork can be drawn in the office. Ladies no need to pay the additional copay for a specialist for your annual exam. Dr. CP does pap and breast exams. They are associated with Florida Hospital and records are interchangeable. Making an appointment is easy. You can either call or schedule through the patient portal. Pretty much I'm never leaving this practice if I can help it! Lol!
