My grandmother's words, "I refuse to marry a rancher and get worked to feath." Her mother died on the new Texas place when Grandma was 11. Grandma went on with her sister and brothers, homesteading in New Mexico and Colorado. She finally settled with her brother in Iola, Kansas with the brother that broke his leg so badly falling off the New barn roof his dad sent him to optician school. His generations followed him into the trade. Born in Los Angeles, living on the edges, I made a career in the rural west. CENEX has been most places I have. I now live in Central Phoenix, AZ. Their fuel pumps are open when the main store opens. We fueled here July 12th and 13th, 2024. I didn't quite fill the tank on the 12th. We returned in daylight hours to top off - and step inside. Our nation is divided. Most people live in cities, obsessed with their tiny circles of life. They know nothing of rural life, making a living from the soil, the most Ancient hunting and fishing lifeways or guns for more than imagined threats generated by endless entertainment crime shows. This store is a VERY cool place. Mostly heavy duty, practical, useful items for work and wear. A total inventory for the outdoor people feeding and entertaining themselves hunting and fishing. Anyone can find useful items for work, wear or repair. The rural few need a little respect from the urban many. That's where food grows, that's where God lives. That's where it will take a very long time to create alternative machines that work and travel in country places.

Right off the highway and easily accessible when you're passing by. This is way more than just a…read morepetrol station. They have everything inside. Guns, pizza, other foods, typical gas snacks, good jerky, fishing gear. Basically like a bass pro but with gas and minus the aquarium haha. Have some time and passing by, I'd recommend a stop here to fuel Up and grab a bite to eat.

I have never skied and I had 0 idea of what we needed etc. The guys were all super helpful, friendly and comforting about what to expect! Great rate for rentals! I returned some gear early and was refunded for unused days which is soooo amazing. 1000% kn customer service. Highly suggest coming to East Slope for all your snow rentals. They have ski, snowboard, and shoeing and other things for rent! They also have tons of cute clothes for sale! Definitely stop in here!

I was really excited to purchase a merino wool pullover from East Slope Outfitters in Big Sky Town…read moreCenter. It was performing well, so I went back the next day and purchased a second one. Unfortunately, the first pullover started developing pulls almost immediately. One particularly long pull in the front snagged on something as minor as my cuticle--something that shouldn't even be possible. I also noticed additional pulls on the back, even though I had been careful with it. When I went into the store to discuss the issue, an employee was empathetic and directed me to the manager. However, the manager--a brunette helping a customer with ski goggles--was completely dismissive. When I explained the situation, she responded with, "Oh, it must have pulled on something." I acknowledged that it caught on my nail, but I was shocked that such an expensive pullover would be so fragile. Rather than offering any assistance or even engaging in a conversation about product quality, she quickly shut it down, saying they couldn't do anything since I had already had it for a few days. For a store selling high-end outdoor gear, I expected better durability and customer support. Spending around $130, I at least hoped for a discussion about quality assurance or a possible exchange. Instead, I was met with indifference. It felt like they cater more to tourists passing through than to customers who actually care about their purchases. If you're looking for durable gear from a store that stands behind its products, I'd recommend looking elsewhere.
