Wow, maybe I lucked out, or that guy doesn't work here anymore, but I got great service from a young man. The only reason I stopped coming here was because I didn't like the drive. Guess I'll have to pick better times to head over. I've been dealing with a condescending jerk on the west end (different company) for years, and I've finally decided the drive can't be that bad. I'm glad I came my mind because I was happy with the service, and I completely forgot they often have sales, not to mention the selection is just better. I'm also collecting points again. Now working on 7th batch from Winning Wines. Each time in to store, local St Albert business staff have been very helpful with strong hands on knowledge sharing. The south side location is amazing. The St. Albert one is bad mainly due to one guy who works there... and he seems to be working every time I go there. Super rude, unhelpful, and probably the most miserable person I've ever seen in my life. Simply walking into the store will piss this guy off. I don't know if he is the owner, but for the sake of this business (they have everything you need just like the south side location) they need to FIRE HIM! I use up extra gas to go to the south side location, which is way out of my way, just to avoid dealing with this asshole. Whoever the guy is who works Wednesday afternoons, really needs to brush up on basic customer service, or should consider finding another line of work. I waited five minutes for someone to come out of the back, and when he came he was amazingly unhelpful. I asked him about starting to brew beer, and he only responded with "This is expensive.", then left to read a paper at the register. I was pretty set on getting a kit right then and there, so I started pricing out the equipment myself, and any questions I had he'd answer with a shrug and a sigh, and he actually walked into the back again and didn't come back out, leaving me in the store by myself. I wound up spending $1200 somewhere else on a kit and ingredients shipped in. Too bad, I guess. They must do pretty good business to turn that down and treat customers like that. read more
