Sad to say but winner, is a loser. The chicken was fried nicely, that brings us to the end of the positives. The sauce was completely one dimensional of just sweet. For a General Tso's you expect a little "something". This was sesame chicken minus the seeds. Just thickened sugar water on chicken. The "fried rice" was yellow rice with pork added. I'm not sure why places in the Poconos do this, but there are only a handful of places that make real fried rice. This isn't one of them. The chicken nicely fried, the egg roll not so much. Overcooked and greasy. The cost was $10 and change. It said you get a discount for using cash so I did. No discount. Save yourself the trouble, go somewhere else. Winner - sucked. read more

Winner Chinese Restaurant - General Tso's ... sort of - Chinese Near Me - Pocono Summit, Pennsylvania

Not sure how this place can get any good reviews. I should have trusted my instincts when I went inside and it was filthy and unkempt. I ordered sesame chicken, bbq pork and steamed rice. The only thing edible was the steamed rice. The sesame chicken was inedible; terrible texture, flavor and the oil it was fried in tasted bad to me, I stopped after one bite. The bbq pork was not great, overly sweet and chewy, I ate a little bit of that with the steamed rice. I had stomach issues that evening and the next day from the food as well. Will never return and advise all to stay away. read more

This is one of the best and A Hidden Gem for Authentic Chinese Food Winner Chinese never disappoints! Their Chicken Lo Mein is hands down the best I've ever had--perfectly seasoned, with tender chicken and noodles cooked to perfection. The dish is flavorful without being too heavy, making it a go-to comfort food for me. But what really sets them apart is their Curry with Mixed Vegetables. The rich, aromatic curry sauce complements the fresh vegetables perfectly, creating a dish that is both hearty and packed with flavor. Whether you're a fan of classic Chinese dishes or looking for something a bit different, Winner Chinese has you covered. The staff is always friendly and the service is quick, even during peak hours. If you're in the mood for delicious, quality Chinese food, I highly recommend Winner Chinese! read more

This place needs to be closed for serving food like this this isn't acceptable smh My French fries are overcooked and "Burned" a lot of restaurants out here need a food inspector or the board of health to step in. Also a lot of these so-called restaurants need there inspection food grade to be place on the outside of the store. read more

This is our take-out Chinese food which is very good. Love Beef & Broccoli, General Taos Chicken. From NYC so took a while to find good Chinese food, but this is the best one. 4 stars only because they don't serve brown rice. Very Good, reasonable price, and quick service. Recommend highly! read more

Being from San Diego, Ca I'm very spoiled when it comes to good Chinese food. This place is amazingly delicious and actually a lot better than many Chinese restaurants back home. The food is flavorful, the portions are great and the food tastes very fresh. I'm here on vacation and have already ordered twice. This place is definitely a new favorite and I look forward to having it whenever I come back. I'd add a photo but the food is already gone. read more

You have limited options when you're in the Poconos but sometimes you're craving Chinese. You know, that quick delivery (before there was Seamless) type Chinese. American Chinese, some may call it Hunan. Either way, Winner is a WIN. The prices are extremely reasonable, the portions are generous and the quality is up there with any favorite city Chinese restaurant. The General Tso's wasn't as spicy as I like it, but the flavor was spot on and the meat was tender and not fatty. The chicken fried rice had good size chicken pieces in it and was satisfying. It was even good the 2nd night for leftovers. We'll be back and explore the menu a bit more, but I'm impressed with what they've delivered and since it's close to the beautiful Lake Naomi you can't lose. read more

Very solid. Unexpected quality for pocono area. Confident in ingredients. Takeout option works fast.

Winner, winner, Chinese dinner! Want to know a secret? I LOVE Bad East Coast Chinese Food. LOVE it! I'm not the only one. My brother, who also lives near me in Hawaii, also loves BECCF. This month we were both here in the Poconos, visiting our mother. She was amused by how often we asked to eat at Winner. Man, what perfect food. Don't judge it against any other food type. It is BECCF and nothing else. The dumplings should be solid. The sauce should be a bit too sweet. The broccoli should be plentiful. The egg rolls should be chewy. Chinese food in Hawaii is mostly Hunan, not Canton style. Turns out I am a Cantonese food lover, because I rarely crave Chinese food at home, but the moment I hit the East Coast I reach for an oversized menu. Winner is one of many Chinese restaurants in the immediate area. I prefer them because of the speed of their service and because of their willingness to make adjustments as far as type of rice and protein. BECCF at its best! read more

I got the sesame chicken with white meat and it was really good. Portions are perfect for the combo meals. My sesame chicken had no sesame seeds... The cheese wontons were soggy & flavorless. Also, the didn't come with sauce... 2 combos w/ white meat & one order of wontons = $25 read more

I used to love this take out restaurant. Ordered 4th of july and was awful. Crab Rangoon was like rubber, curry chicken was ALL onions practically with a flavorless curry sauce. The trio Szechuan scallops, shrimp and lobster was a sad flavorless dish stuffed with Broccoli to the brim. The fried rice was terrible too! This was very disappointing and a waste of money. There are three Chinese restaurants out here in the Monroe county area. I use to eat at the one around the corner from me. They are good also, but Winners takes the cake. Winners taste like the good ole NYC Chinese food. Love this place. Best out here so far that I can tell, will drive the extra 5 minutes to go here instead. NY style Chinese food. 5 STARS for me. read more

I think it's really awesome. Right outside my community so I don't have to drive around the world.

Delicious food first time trying on a whim had no issues. Food was hot, delicious and good prices

Winner has really good Chinese food. Is it the best I ever had? No. Is it the best in the Mt Pocono/Pocono Summit area? Most definitely. It is also clean, a big plus for me. I work for a utility company and have done some work in this restaurant and I can honestly say that the kitchen is one of the cleaner Chinese kitchens I've been in, definitely cleaner than Tokyo Tea House or the Chinatown Buffet in Carriage square that kept their raw chicken on the floor. They have the best egg rolls I've ever had and the pork fried rice is fantastic. read more

This is the best Chinese take-out I've found in the Poconos! I've been eating their food since I was only a little over a decade old, and it's always rocked my taste buds! Their General Tso's Chicken is excellent, so is their Moo Shu Pancakes, eggrolls, and Wonton Soup (just to mention a few). I've never had a bad dish here. Winner is conveniently located right off of Route 80 and 380, and route 940 and 314. Call ahead to avoid the wait (especially on weekend evenings). read more

It has been a long time since I had Chinese food and this scratched the "I think I need some Chinese" itch. Was it great? No. Did it get the job done? Yes. Pros: Fantastic egg rolls Decent prices Friendly staff HUGE portions Cons: We had 4 different entrees and most of them were rather heavy and somewhat greasy. Not enough vegetables read more

We have gotten Chinese food from Winner for several years now and I've never felt compelled to write a review until tonight. Food's always been "ok"... not my favorite Chinese... but not awful. Unfortunately it's been trending downward for a while and tonight is just awful. I stopped ordering egg rolls because to me they're tough and there's no vegetarian option for my daughter. The fried dumplings I ordered were tough and oddly flavored. The Hot & Sour Soup is super hot, not at all sour and filled with mushy meat and mushrooms, hardly anything fresh. The fried rice is just bland rice, onion, meat. The Chicken and Broccoli is greasy. Ugh. read more

You are in the Poconos, and you want some good chinese food that won't send your stomach packing. Let me save you some trouble: Go Here! It's in a small strip mall along Rt 940. We bought the gamut today chicken, beef, singapore mei fun, almond cookies etc., and it was just as good as I hoped. I haven't had east coast Chinese food in nearly 3yrs so the stakes were high. Everything tastes like they change their oil regularly and are cooking fresh food. The fried wontons looked the best I've ever seen in my life, but they were the same ol' tough centered mystery meat ball and dough-fold. But that sweet and sour sauce was spot on. read more

Love this place. Best Chinese in the area! My favorite is the Singapore mei fun. Always ask for it extra spicy. Standard isn't hour at all. But it's very tasty! Takeout, no real seating. read more

I moved here 22 years ago and for the last 20 of them have been ordering Chinese food from Winner! The food was always great. I don't think we ever once had a problem. They had the best hot & sour soup I have ever had in my life. 2 years ago I moved to Tobyhanna and started to try spots over there. Nothing was like Winner. Last night I was over there so I went in and ordered most of our usual items. A friend told me, there is new owners and it's not as good. I went any way to see for myself! The Fried Dumplings were too thick and had a very small amount of meat in them. The ribs were skinny and barely had meat on them. The Hot & Sour Soup was awful! The Shrimp with Lobster Sauce had imitation Crab Meat in it. It was absolutely the worst! Unless the old owners come back...Never Again!!! read more

Best Chinese restaurant in the area. They don't put those darn onion sprout things in their rice so automatically it's a....wait for it...winner! Get it? Solid sweet and sour chicken, love the beef sticks and won ton soup as well. This is a go to when work beats ya up for the day and you want to eat a little less than healthy. Big fan of Winner! read more

Trying to find decent Chinese food in this area is impossible. Went here on Saturday, folks are very friendly and the store is clean. I base my reviews on 3 dishes...hot and sour soup, awful....shrimp toast, overly greasy and mushy, lastly, shrimp lo mein, noodles overcooked, I threw the shrimp out. I may try again based on its location, but I doubt it. read more

Why are they called winner? I have always eaten Chinese food in NY. This is not even close to any Chinese food I have eaten. Sorry, but when I ask for all white meat and I pay extra for it, I expect to taste all white meat! The chicken looks and tastes nothing like chicken. Hard and chewy at the same time, wtf is it? read more

If your in the Poconos the safest, and tastiest place for Chinese food is right here. They are clean and their food is really good.

In the deep thick woods of the Poconos you don't have a lot of options for ethnic food. On our way to my husband's family vacation home in Lake Arrowhead we had a hankering for some chinese food. Living in Flushing, there's probably no better chinese food than what's in our area so nothing will quite compare, but we called a half hour before closing, they had our order ready in 15 minutes and I was greeted by their sweet family at pickup - all of the daughters took their turn in helping fullfill the order from presenting the food, collecting payment and asking if we needed utensils. My singapore mei fun was a bit dry and had too much seasoning (which led to it being dry) but the service alone put a smile on my face. read more

Winner is definitely a good place to get Chinese in the Poconos. As far as Chinese food goes a lot taste the same but some are just not good. Winner does a good job, seems clean, and has been in business for around 30 years. Only thing that pisses me off is if you order pork and mushrooms they put carrots in there. I ordered Fning pork and mushrooms! Now I say pork and mushrooms with no other vegetables! I go around once a week. Good Chinese place for sure. read more

January 21, 2018 9:19 PM. I am in the midst of eating one of my favorites. General Tsao's Shrimp combination plate with shrimp fried rice and eggroll.. A lot of chinese restaurants won't change the combination plate from chicken, but they do. As well as shrimp fried rice. The rice is perfect and with the house mustard they did it right. 5 stars on this meal, delightful........Stan Kenosky, local Pocono resident. read more
