Just for the record, I like coming to a Winn-Dixie and saying, "Because of_________." Alright, if you've never read the book, Because of Winn-Dixie, you definitely wouldn't understand my reference, but if you did read it good for you. Now the book and the store doesn't have any relations. When I think of off-chain grocery stores, I don't expect for them to be much more expensive than big-box chains. I expect for them to be cheap or close to reasonable pricing. To compare: this store is equivalent to United Supermarket, Food Town, Foodarama, Seller Brothers, even Walmart. Just because Walmart is just too high. Tell me why packets of fish, all the fish are $7.99. Yes, due to me not able to get ham or even pork chops on Christmas, I wanted to eat fish. Everything has .99 after it, that's not even legit cents, but rather a full dollar amount more. Even HEB is cheaper than this place. I love HEB, but unfortunately, HEB can only be in Texas and some parts of TX. My mum and I visited this store on Christmas Eve and tell me why the whole store was had people everywhere because everybody is last minute or their plans got canceled. No big deal right, wrong---this store is equivalent to Walmart on another level because of the people of Walmart (http://www.peopleofwalmart.com/) has migrated to the people of Winn-Dixie. Winn-Dixie - Front door ! My favorite store in the south! - Grocery Near Me - Kenner, Louisiana

This is a pretty big Winn Dixie. Even though it's really close to my work, I always forget about it - because I usually don't travel to Kenner. However, I was giving my mom the grand tour of the metro area, and we needed a few supplies for dinner. We stopped in here. Good selection, typical grocery store customer service (friendly, because they get paid to act friendly, etc.), competitive prices... yeah, the usual grocery store review, I know. The only thing in my opinion that makes this Winn Dixie stand out amongst the others in the area is that they have a large hot food section at the deli. You can pick out a full meal for lunch/dinner, including fried chicken, grilled chicken, various veggies, stuffing, potatoes, and tons of other stuff. I did this once on my lunch break - it was pretty good, and only about $5 for a big meal (priced by weight). read more

It is especially great when I can catch a sale.The grocery store is very organized, and the workers are friendly. Ordered 15 of one product to be delivered. Received 2 of a product not ordered. Winn Dixie said it wasn't their fault it was shipped (instacart) Call them, not our problem. I called them and was told 25 minute wait time. Credit card company said 2 days for the rip off charge to post. Called back Winn Dixie and they told me 'too bad, so sad', we know all these delivery people and I'm the first time the delivery has ever gottan a complaint. I said "since you know them, it's Nya". Then Manager said she wasn't at the register, too bad they would do nothing to help. Really poor customer service and total rip off. Im ripped off by Winn Dixie who has a contract with the deliver people, according to the manger, but won't take any responsibility for the actions of their agents. read more

I just don't love Winn Dixie. There is something about their grocery stores that leaves me feeling less than satisfied. I think it's that the quality of some of their produce and prepared foods seems lesser than the competition. They do run some good sales though which is what often brings us through the doors. The diet check drinks come in so many different flavors and they all taste pretty good. Some of them don't even taste like a diet drink. They often run good sales on those. read more

Well stocked shelves, not so crowded at the time of visit on a Friday. There appeared to have a broken cooler in the center of the store that was getting attention. At checkout there were only paper sacks which is different for me as I usually request plastic. Ha ha. My check out associate was on her first day and did very well. I only give 3 stars because I wish the overhead signs were more user friendly and there was more produce. read more

Prices seem a bit higher than other grocery stores, but the loyalty discount card makes up the difference. In addition to the good 2-fer deals, including weekend meat specials, there's the fuel perks thing. $.05 per $50 spent, plus extra shorter term discounts for buying specially marked items. Just got off the phone with Danny( from the store), I am coming in from out of town , and was in quest of 2 things , old new orleans rum and boudin. He ACTUALLY checked stock for the 2 products, and told me he would hold them for me until my flight arrives tomorrow, there for , saving me lots of time hunting.I love you man ! ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS check your prices before leaving the store. Its almost guaranteed you will be ripped off, its the Winn Dixie way. Their produce is horrible and has the wrong tags in the wrong spot about 90 percent of the time and when you get to the checkout theres a 90 percent chance the checkout person will ring you up for the wrong tomatoes also. Theres a 70 percent chance one of your "buy 1 get 1 frees" will not come off at the register. The straw that broke the camels back for me was buying 2 lbs of ground turkey on mothers day with the intentions to cook something, and they were bad. The "use by" date was in 10 days but they were bad. And this wasnt the first time this has happened. Hopefully they close this store and turn it in to something else. read more

I shop at this Winn Dixie almost daily. I really don't understand working at a place that you don't enjoy, if you don't want to work, stay your ass at home. I don't need your attitude. The cashier (Jeolisa) spoke twice to me, to ask for my plenty card & to tell me how much my total was, that's it! This is the first time I have had a cashier or any employee for that matter, to be impolite & NO I'm not bagging my own groceries this time, you can do that, that's NOT MY JOB!!! I would suggest to any black person that you do not shop at this store. There was a white man I looked up and he was watching me. On the contrary, there was a young white woman a few feet away from him. He did not offer assistance to her. I could not find a item, so I asked for his assistance. He could not find the item. I was able to find it. So I watched this gentleman. I noticed that he passed up several white people never asking them if he could assist them Afterward he approached two other black people to assist them.The manager for very friendly. Even though this is closest to my home, I try to avoid shopping here because the self-check is almost consistently closed and they never have enough registers open. Their meat and produce are very basic. Also, I suppose because they keep advertising that they are cheaper than Wal-Mart, the caliber of the clientele at this store has deteriorated. I have boycotted this store several times and have started taking more of my business to Rouse's on David Drive which has a much better meat department. Not to mention that on $2.99 Tuesdays, Fresh Market is cheaper on chicken and ground beef. read more
