Would give zero stars for the pharmacy if I could, first incident was with my sons antibiotics that needed to be mixed. They packaged and sent my husband off with the powder, not mixed and concentrated powder. The instructions are on the powder bottle for when it's mixed but does not say it should be liquid or how to give just 5ml, nothing about it being liquid at all...
Called and they said "oops!", that could be very dangerous if someone gave 5ml of pure powder to an infant!
Second incident, I went to pickup a prescription that had been called in 3 hours prior, The cashier asked the name and became extremely rude after, she didn't understand why I would be picking up a prescription under a Spanish last name... she couldn't spell it. Then she went to look for it hanging behind her, she said well it's not ready, no computer, no checking what it was just "it's nots ready"...
She said on a rant, rolling her eyes and sucking on something, " there are so many more before you and those who came in before yours!" As she rolled her eyes and waved her arm to suggest there was a giant line of people waiting. (There was literally no one but myself and my ill son)
You would think a sick child's medication and the fact I was the only one there, they could quickly take the 3 minutes to mix his medication.
Haaaaaa haaaa but wait!!!
so that's when I questioned when would it be, I'd wait it was urgent to get to my son...
That's when they-WOW checked for the actual status, and surprise surprise, they they claimed to have only gotten it 45 minutes prior and it would be a long wait...
That is when I checked my watch and I said it had been called in way before that... then the here's the kicker...
The pharmacist shows me a paper far away saying it's time stamped! And and and a few seconds later!" We might not even have it" SO YOU Wouldn't call a customer to say that????
So they were going to have me wait even more time just to come back to "we don't have yours sons medication".
My sons Dr had proof when it was sent. Then the snobby older lady went "well what do you want?! Check another Winndixie? What?"
There is no other Winn-Dixie with a pharmacy anywhere close by, and my son needed this medication.
I said no, I would have it transferred by the Dr.
Dr sent it to Publix and I called right after to make sure they had it, they did and said it was already ready! Just needed to be mixed. I said wow! That was fast and he said he would have called immediately if they didn't have it, that certain medications are priority for babies and young children. That's when I told him Winn-Dixie about Winn-Dixie and he apologized for them! Ha!
Took Publix 3 minutes to mix it- and boy they said the amount of stories they've heard about people almost dying from the Winn-Dixie pharmacy was awful! I mentioned how they once gave my son just the powder and everyone's jaw dropped- that's a lawsuit waiting to happen!
Stay away from Winn-Dixie pharmacy!!! One day your pharm tech will be in the bakery the next filling your prescription! read more
