This Winn-Dixie is big and much nicer than any I've seen in Miami... and dare I say it, nicer than most Publix too!

Gaffs Quality Meat And Specialty Foods - I could help myself, I had a bunch of baby Portobello's screaming to be on this delicious burger.

Gaffs Quality Meat And Specialty Foods

I've been a customer at Gaff's for years, but my recent pre-order experience has unfortunately…read moreended that relationship. I ordered 5 lbs of bone-in short ribs weeks in advance for Thanksgiving--at the staff's own suggestion when I inquired about availability. I provided my pickup date and time as requested, and received two confirmation calls leading up to the holiday. Despite all this preparation, the actual pickup was frustrating and disorganized. When I arrived at my scheduled time on the day before Thanksgiving, the shop was using the standard take-a-number system that completely ignored appointment times. The chaos was predictable--dozens of customers were there for pre-orders--but the system failed at multiple points. Numbers were called too quietly in a loud, crowded shop, and the LED display wasn't consistently updated. Staff gave customers mere seconds to respond before moving to the next number, causing people to be skipped repeatedly. I waited 40 minutes past my scheduled pickup time. When I finally reached the counter, my order wasn't prepared. After weeks of advance notice and multiple confirmations, they had a 3 lb package and a 12 lb package available--neither matching my 5 lb order. I settled for 6 lbs (half of the larger package), which required additional cutting and another 10-minute wait. What's most disappointing is that this was entirely preventable. The day before Thanksgiving is obviously their busiest day of the year, but it's also completely predictable. Pre-orders were advertised in-store for over a month. Simple measures--dedicated staff for pre-orders, a separate pickup area, orders prepared ahead of time--would have prevented this chaos. Instead, the staff seemed dismissive when confronted with their lack of preparation. I understand holiday rushes can overwhelm any business, but this wasn't a rush--it was a failure to plan for a workload they actively solicited and had weeks to prepare for. For a business that asks customers to plan ahead with pre-orders, I expected them to do the same. I won't be returning.

This is one of two locations of Gaff's Quality Meats and Specialty Foods. I believe the original…read moreone is in Port Orange, Florida and this location is a bit east in DeLand. Since I heard such great things about this butcher and since I would be driving by (well, actually I was driving down Interstate 4 and it was only about four miles off the highway), today would be the day I would check this place out. By the way, I have not been this way for quite some time and it certainly has changed and grown. Anyway, I pulled into the parking lot of Gaff's and found it to be an attractive stand alone building. Parking was good and the exterior was clean and inviting. Walking into the establishment, I found it to equally clean and the store was well situated and again, very inviting. The staff was nothing short of incredible and customer service was definitely a high priority with the management here. I was continuously greeted by the team and they were extremely attentive without being overly so. There is a deli counter, a seafood counter, the shelves were filled with great specialty items and the meat counter, where the emphasis of this business lies, was filled with some great looking beef, pork and chicken. I am a huge fan of sausage, so I gravitated towards there. The friendly young man behind the counter recommended the hot Italian sausage, so I got four of them (which was well over a pound). Since I like spicy food, I also opted for their bratwurst with serrano and cheese. I should have also gotten some of their lean ground sirloin, it looked great. I had the spicy bratwurst today. I had it with thinly sliced cooked onions and a quality mustard and while I have had better, it was definitely very good. I would definitely recommend here and will return here. Great service and very good quality food make this place a winning combination. Check it out. I am sure that you will be a fan of this establishment.

I was very surprised when I walked into this grocery store. I only came in to buy lottery, but was…read moresurprised to see good beers on the shelves. I got my lottery tickets and decided to investigate further. Well, Kenny's selection is very good, especially for a grocery store in Orange City or north of Orlando. I found very good bottle, recent releases, and lots of fancy European beer. I absolutely recommend this shop to any craft beer enthusiasts. Remember: not all beer or beer types age well.

I love and hate this store. I love that they've got a (theoretically) great beer selection kind of…read morein the middle of nowhere. In fact, I've seen some bottles there that not even ABC or Total Wine carry. That being said, I think the store would be better considered a beer museum. Seems like 90% of the stock is ANCIENT. I've never seen so many old, dusty bottles in one place. Based on the stock in the cooler, it's clear that most of their sales are coming from fizzy yellow macros, malt liquors and FMBs (which is normal for most liquor stores). But if you're going to cater to the craft beer crowd (as it appears they're doing based on their Facebook feed), you can't be having IPAs that went out of code during the Obama administration on your shelf at full price (or at all, for that matter). Prices are also way higher than average. Probably about 25-40% higher than what you'd pay at ABC or Total Wine. Sure, they've got a lot of high ABV, rare releases like Founders KBS, Bell's Black Note, and pretty much everything from The Bruery. BUT, since the stuff is so old there's no way those prices can be justified (if they were fresh off the delivery truck - maybe, but not when they're covered in dust). Lastly, what this store really gets wrong is that they don't let you mix-a-six. Mixing a six-pack of 12oz bottles is standard operating procedure at every true bottle shop. I saw a lot of 12oz singles I wanted to buy, but I didn't want the entire 4 or 6-pack. To be fair, they do have a shelf of a handful of selections they allow you to mix, but even the average Publix has a bigger selection than this. KENNY, if you're reading this - please contact me! I'm a professional craft beer consultant. It's my job to make stores like yours realize their potential. P.S. Why is it called Kenny's Grocery? There's very little food sold here. The vast majority of their wares is alcohol, smokes, and lottery tickets. It should be called Kenny's Vice Dispensary.

They were all near the entrance of the store, which is convenient and better than other grocery stores where you have to go back outside for a cart. The produce area as well organized. Some of the signs are incorrect on some of the vegetables. However, the pricing is decent for these produce. They do have a decent meat selection different cuts preseasoned was able to get eight chicken legs for like four bucks, which is a deal in this economy The beef was more on the pricey side however it looked good and it cooked well As far as the international grocery side of things, it seemed a little higher price, which is unfortunate but I'm assuming a lot of those international groceries are imported so maybe they were affected by tariffs Overall, the staff was great helped me find something I couldn't find at checkout. They carried a decent conversation which a lot of grocery stores do not. The store was clean. I didn't have any complaints. It wasn't super busy. I was able to get in and out within 15 minutes.
