Beware this holiday season! This store sells predatory NetSpend Visa Prepaid cards. THEY ARE NOT GIFT CARDS! Yesterday, Dec. 19, I hastily bought a handful of NetSpend Prepaid Visa cards at this location, thinking that they were Visa Gift Cards. They are not! I loaded hundreds of dollars on them, altogether. The cashier was happy to do it, and didn't point out that the recipient can't use the card without first signing up for an account & verifying their identity, and then there's a $1.50/transaction fee for every transaction on the card after that. Not only that, but after 90 days, there's a $5.95 inactivity fee, a $2.95 ATM withdrawal fee, and fees for every possible path to getting your money out. You also can't activate more than one card as an individual, so there is literally no way for me to get my money back. I spent half an hour on the phone with NetSpend support, working through broken communication, until finally she said there was nothing she could do to help. (I was very polite and patient through all of this, and it's not her fault, but that is not an acceptable answer.) So why am I disappointed in Winn-Dixie? Winn-Dixie will not process a refund, even though the cards haven't been activated. They sell these things - I'm sure they've heard complaints before, or they would help process a refund. They clearly know NetSpend is shady, and are complicit in allowing it to continue. Winn-Dixie should be more aware of who they're doing business with. NetSpend has had an FTC action against it in 2017 that led to millions in refunds to consumers. They're still up to the same nonsense. It's fine if this is a useful product for some people, but they should not be able to take my money and keep it while I have no way to get it back. I could just pass these along to my nieces and nephews as gifts (although, if they already have one, it looks like they have no way to redeem it!), but the fees on these cards are ridiculous. I'm fine paying a few bucks for the privilege of buying a gift card the recipients can use anywhere, but buying a candy bar with it should not come with a $1.50 transaction fee every time. Visa is already making a killing on credit card transaction fees, and NetSpend already made their money on the cost of the card. I refuse to pass these along as "gift cards" to my nieces & nephews because these cards are clearly not a smart financial choice for anyone. These belong behind the counter with the cigarettes. Another option, as the Winn-Dixie store manager (Amy) suggested, is to try to sell them to someone else and get back as much of my money as I can. That would make me complicit in perpetuating the scam, and I won't be a part of it. I'm giving Winn-Dixie 1 star for selling this shady, predatory product, and then refusing to help with a refund. I did not agree to Winn-Dixie's no return policy or NetSpend's policies in the course of my purchase at the register. read more

YES, Yes , yes How I have longed for a Winn Dixie, this was the only store I knew of growing up, My mother use to shop at Winn Dixie 3 times a week. So I was super excited to see this store when I made it to Columbus, I knew that I would be shopping here for the next 6 weeks, so I was trying to get familiar with it again. Seeing the Check pop brought back so many memories, to bad I no longer drink pop like that. This Winn Dixie was very clean and organized, they had a nice little hot wing bar in the deli department and all of the sale items were towards the front of the store. I bought 3 really nice coolers for 2.50 a piece ( on Clearance ). I don't know what the deal was but I couldn't find the water that I drink in this store, so I still had to go to Publix and get my water and fried chicken but I shopped here for everything else. The services was very relaxed but super friendly ( that good ole southern hospitality) . Prices were great, I think they have adopted the whole BOGO things as so many others have. I'm now back in Atlanta and miss my Winn Dixie, but I will see them the next time I'm in Columbus. GA. read more

I went shopping at the Winn-Dixie on November 28 @ 9 in the morning. Columbus Ga has a mask required policy in place. I was shocked to see that only one employee was wearing a mask. When I asked to see the manager he was not wearing a mask either. When I asked about the masks his response was he would not get any closer then 6 ft. I called the home office they said they would respond in 3-5 days. I will follow up with the county health department on Monday. Just so you know what made me notice was the person handling the prepared food was coughing! This is incredibly lacking in respect for the public that consumes their products. Love the store. The wing bar is great as well as the BOGO items. The service used to be really good but the last few times I've been it's been non existent. I waited at the hot food bar for 10 minutes while the lady working there was looking at her phone. She never even asked if I needed help. I finally gave up and grabbed the rest of the items I needed. Finally got to the checkout to find ONE lane open and it was backed up into the isles. I'm not sure what's happening with Winn Dixie but this is a sure fire way to chase your customers away. read more

last time I ever shop there. spent all night helping needy families. they have been open on Christmas in the past. web site says open. got a list from the folks who had to leave their house because of burst pipes . they were closed in both locations. to lazy to update their site. yeah never again! read more

I love Winn Dixie meats! However, since the pandemic, I have been using the pickup service of another (cheaper) store close by. I went in this store today with my city mandated Facemask and was appalled that over 75% of employees were not wearing masks, including those working in the deli department with open food. All of the customers had masks on. I asked a manager and she said that some had asthma or religious objections to the masks. I could see that excuse for a few but not 3/4 of all employees. To me, if your customers are being required to wear masks then your employees should also. If they won't or can't wear them, give them a behind the scenes job. I will be going back to the store I was using as their employees wear masks. read more

My husband and I moved to Columbus from Indiana so we are not use to having a Winn Dixie. Absolutely love this store, especially their BOGO deals! Everyone is usually very kind and helpful. I also have to point out how awesome the fresh sushi is that they have a chef make daily. We have been looking for a new sushi spot and honestly they have the best sushi we've had here. I recommend the "shaggy dog" roll. read more

For this store to be as big as it is, their Organic selection is almost non-existent. They have a small section of veggies and most of the time, what they DO HAVE is always on the verge of rotting. Nothing is ever fresh. read more

You took out the self services registers! I had to wait in line 4 times as long as I used to when I could take care of it myself. And you cut back your cashiers work hours? This is our favorite super-market in Columbus. Super clean store, well stocked, and they manage to keep the lines rather short. Centrally located in North Columbus next to basically everything and the staff is very friendly. read more
