Most Vrbo rentals come equipped with some necessities but this one was lacking some needed items. No hand soap in the kitchen or bathroom. Maintenance is lacking and very old everything. The oven looks like it was never cleaned, hence we did no cooking or eating at all just slept. No games so we cut up paper and made a deck of cards! Left them for the next renter... read more

I can't speak for the accommodations, only for the business ethics of the owner. We did work for these cabins last year and have yet to be paid for the work we performed. He still owes us over $5000.00 for repairs to his cabins. He has blocked our phone numbers and will not return an email. If I were going to spend my money on a rental I think I would rather give my money to someone who doesn't cheat local small business'. read more

Junkyard meets cabin slums. I'm not sure where all the great reviews for these cabins are coming from on Google and Yelp. We just spent 3 nights at WinMar and upon arrival the place had a Sanford & Son vibe. There were tools and various junk/trash scattered about the property. The owner charged me for the full 3 nights at check-in. And gave me no additional information about breakfasts (apparently there's breakfast?), or check-out. The bathroom was uncomfortable (Cabin 2), the toilet was nestled in a cubbyhole the size of a broom closet and the sink had no counterspace whatsoever. The shower we didn't use, as it was small and dingy. When I called prior to our visit I was assured that the kitchen was fully stocked. It had very basic pots and pans, no bakeware, no cutting knives/boards, and a small coffee maker but no coffee filters (so why bother?). Basically we used the stove top to heat up water to make coffee and used the microwave for warming food. The mattresses were VERY uncomfortable and in visible tatters. One of them creaked loudly every single time you moved. The main living/sleeping area window coverings did not block light and the kitchen window had bent and broken blinds. We had to hang the extra sheets over the window so people couldn't see into the cabin. What these cabins DO have is close proximity to amazing hiking, canoeing, and wilderness. This place could be so much better. The owners should consider selling to someone who will love this place into greatness. read more

For a no frills cabin this place was fantastic! Kitchenette was very helpful! Cabin was clean and in good repair. Bed was a little hard but that is our only complaint. We stayed 3 nights read more

Very affordable cozy cabins. Quiet setting in a great location. Free breakfast too. We had the larger cabin and it was only $100 a night. 2 big beds with a pull out sofa bed too. They provide the linens and towels, shampoo, and everything you need to cook a meal. Definitely worth it!!!! read more

Great spot! If you're looking for a no frills cabin with amazing breakfast - this is the spot! Great price. Cheaper and nicer than the Roadway Inn in Leadville. Our cabin had a kitchenette which was great! The owner was super sweet and provided us a great breakfast - they even had breakfast burritos! I'll definitely be staying here again. read more

Winmar Cabins has done it again. This was our second stay, and it was just as wonderful as the first -- which is really saying something. The cabins are cozy, self-contained retreats -- each one is its own private space with a full kitchen and private bathroom. Some cabins even have larger kitchens than others, which is a nice bonus if you plan to cook during your stay. Everything is clean, well-furnished, and thoughtfully set up in that perfect rustic-but-comfortable way. And for what you get, the price is genuinely hard to beat. The owners and staff are easy to reach and so friendly, and that kind of hospitality makes a real difference. Whether you're planning a quick weekend or a longer stay, this place is set up for both. But the location is truly the star. You're perfectly positioned to head up to Twin Lakes, cruise over Independence Pass, pop into Buena Vista, or make the quick trip to Leadville. It's rare to find a spot that gives you such easy access to so much. Safe to say we'll be back for a third. Highly recommend. read more
