She uses glue that lasts and lashes that are simply beautiful. I always get the classic lashes, but I've seen her hybrid and volume lashes, and they are marvelous. I see her about every 3 weeks. Her prices are very competitive and the quality is the best I've found. I wholeheartedly recommend you go see her if you want to get lashes for a special occasion or like me just do them on the regular. I always thought the expense was too much and even said out loud I'd never afford to do lashes for $60-something every 3-4 weeks, but I did it once and I'm hooked. And it's worth it! It saves SO much time getting ready in the mornings. I rarely use any makeup anymore because they create such a nice natural look. You have to brush the lashes and take care of them, but now that I've worked them into my lifestyle and budget, I plan to keep doing them for a while. Apparently I was charged for a "custom set" but it looks like a classic mega lash. My eyes have been red, swollen, and itchy since. I fear that my natural lashes are damaged due to the roughness of the application process . Despite me explaining this to her after my appointment, she just said she can do a free fix and she doesn't do refunds because "you should have read my policy". I just personally would not recommend going here for lashes, especially for the price.

Even knowing this, I was scared to get my hair cut again. I have had many really terrible hair cuts, so coming here was a big deal. I had read about Spirals and Tanja online while at home in California. I was heading over to visit my best friend in Tucson, and she said she would come with me. I was not prepared at all for what a wonderful experience this would turn out to be!! Tanja was very calm and soothing, fully understanding what it is to have bad haircuts as a curly girl, being one herself. As she shampooed my hair, she gave me a neck massage which felt so relaxing, and extremely helpful. Then, she led me back to her chair, and we talked about what I wanted and hoped for in a good style. I told her I just wanted a simple, layered cut that would look graceful on a now 60 year old lady, that would be easy to take care of. I was nervous not to have any style photos to pick from, but she studied my face, etc, and seemed to intuitively know what I needed. The style is just perfect!! Not only that, and this is huge, I learned, gently, that I have been taking care of my hair all wrong....for decades!! No one had ever told me you don't comb curly hair while it is dry!!! She put 2 products in my hair: a leave-in moisturizer and a clear finishing gel. And then gave me further instructions to spritz my hair daily, in between shampoos or co-washes, then comb it through. This has been a huge change in my daily routine, it is quick, easy, and still looks marvelous after a month now!!I can easily find these 2 products online, and they are not expensive. I wish I could have Tanja cut my hair all the time, I have to hope I can find someone here to do it. I highly recommend Spirals and their very nice staff, and I will go there again next time I am in Tucson!!

4.5 stars, but I'm rounding up. Tonja has been cutting (and sometimes coloring) my hair for fifteen…read moreyears; I can't believe I've never written a review. I'm someone who isn't very good at visualizing or describing what she wants but definitely knows what she hates, which is terrible when you are getting your haircut. But if I bring in a bunch of screengrabs from Insta or Naturally Curly, I can run them by her and she'll be honest about whether she thinks a particular cut will look good on me--and, based on how much she knows about how much time (very little) I will spend styling it in the morning, whether it's worth doing. She's also amazing at mixing color, so you can be sure you'll get the exact same one every time. I've had some nail and skin treatments here as well, and I have nothing to complain about there, either. The staff are all friendly, and even if they are not the ones specifically doing your hair, they'll probably chat with you, give you product recommendations, and throw a compliment your way anyway. The only bad things about this place are a) it's maybe too popular, and that means noisy, so if you're someone who is prone to sensory overload, this is not your joint; and b) time is more of a relative concept than a hard and fast rule, so don't plan anything more complicated than a trim if you have somewhere to be that day. Otherwise, definitely show up. You won't regret it.
