I've taken my dog to Winichahanat for the past 6 years and have always had a wonderful experience. My pup is accident prone and they've always been able to get me in day of, which has saved thousands in emergency vet visits. The staff has always been very kind, sweet and thorough. He never did send a copy of the dogs record without his personal and derogatory comments on page one when I simply complained about price. Totally unprofessional. That's ok. I whited out the BS personal comment myself as it had f*** all to do with the dog, and I have a new vet who seems just as good and is literally one third of the price. AND allows me to get my prescriptions filled wherever I want without charging me to send the prescription over to anyone else each time. Hint: ANYWHERE ELSE is cheaper for your animal meds than this practice. Thanks for reacting the way you did to my price complaint! They create situations where you have to return often to make money off of you. 5 appointments where it was insisted we see the Doctor only for him to continue to tell me we should stay on the same course. The last time I called for a prescription refill and was told I couldn't have it without an appointment with the Doctor. I said absolutely not and told them what I thought it the situation. I receive an email that they would be letting me go as a patient and I was no longer welcome there. Which is hilarious because I already told them I would under no circumstances be back. I was pushed to buy the very expensive food that they sold in their office. It was not needed. This practice is falling apart! read more

I later discovered on social media that this trainer has had "sponsorships" with some local vets so they may not have been giving their personal advice. I scheduled an appointment for my dog. He had a bad ear infection. A female vet examined him and prescribed a snail tube of medicine, that cost $34.00. Plus the visit; which I was told would be $50. But I was charged $60., and lab work; which came to a total of $134. The nurse told me they had 2 medications-one for $80. and the other for $34. I told the nurse I'm not paying $80. for some medicine. I also asked for a prescription for later, so I wouldn't have to pay for another visit, as well as the meds. She told me she couldn't do that. I would have to come in for another visit to get the medicine. That's ridiculous. A typical rip off. As soon as the nurse opened the tube, to put some medicine in my dog's ear, it started to run out the tube, without squeezing the tube first. I lost a lot of medicine, that way. The office emailed me, inquiring how my dog was doing. I responded by explaining how the medicine gushes out, and that I was not happy about that. This was money wasted. Well, the vet owner sent me a nasty email telling me not to return to his practice; and where would I like to have the record sent, to another vet. I told him he needed an attitude adjustment. All he had to do was prescribe another med. He then told me, I could have paid the $80, for the better med. I told him no way. But I advised him, that the Better, Business Bureau is still in busines. After that statement, he mellowed. But I would not recommend this office. They're more about the money, than appeasing the customer, and curing the pet. read more

If you had told me two yrs ago I would leave a bad review of this place I would have never believed it. I have a new pup who was being treated for Giardia. Their was two meds, one having to use a syringe. At the end of treatment I realized their was not enough liquid in bottle, also the sprinkles I wasted a packet putting in pb(dog would not eat). Long story short I expected to be charged for the one I wasted but the other one their was not enough. The minute I questioned the charge they accused me of spilling it(which I did not). I've had 4 children and I'm a medical assistant (I know how to use a syringe) . Finally I just said I'd pay for it. Realized when leaving that they way overcharged me, instead of just for what I received charged me for full prescription and the label went from 5 days to 10 days treatment.Girl said she gave me too much(and admitted overcharge)and took bottle out back , when I got home to give med the bottle had nothing in it( was dark bottle couldn't tell). The next day I received an email from Hunt saying I was no longer welcome at his practice ,I asked for him to at least have courtesy to speak with me (he didn't). When forwarding my dogs records they had personal notes all over them which had nothing to do with my dog,so their was no way I could use them. I asked him to please remove the commentary from my dogs records so I could find a new vet, he would not.He dropped my puppy in the middle of treatment which is so unethical, he truly needs to stop having such blind faith in his employees or he's going to ruin his business. read more

I had two incidents. Dr. Hunt was super nice and my first cat was so relaxed. I brought her in to be put to sleep. He said her tumor was benign and that she was skinny because of being hyperthyroid. This cost me $350 plus another $50 for thyroid meds. Three weeks later, I brought her somewhere else. Her tumor was covered in lesions and I spent another $160 for an exam and to put my poor little girl to sleep. I was told the bill would be emailed from Winichahanat, but I never got any bill with the breakdown of services. Money was never even discussed. The other guy told me all the services and pricing beforehand and I walked out with an invoice. My other cat's eye looked bloody for a couple of weeks and then suddenly had a blue film over it. Last week I brought her to Winichahanat because the other guy was out due to an injury. Dr. Hunt examined her, was sweet and gentle and then told me she needed emergency surgery to remove the eye, that it was reaching 81 on some eye examiner he used, whereas normal is around 11. I booked the appointment, bought 3 different eye drops (and pain meds I never used) and left after paying $530. I didn't bring her in for the surgery because the meds are working great. I will bring her in to see the other guy when he returns. Granted, in both instances, he did blood work, but I'd still like to know what I'm paying. Update: I called today to ask for more eye drops so I don't have to pay another exorbitant price and was told not unless I bring my cat in for another checkup. I said thanks anyway and hung up. read more

So ur dog injured her leg on the night of July 2nd. Our regular vet was closed on July 3rd. I called this office and they told us the bring her right in. Staff was great. Dr. Hunt was great. Explained everything and gave us all the options. Explained which way he would go. Turn out our dog blew out her ACL. She'll have surgery once we can get a date with this surgeon. Winichahanat Veterinary Care 495 Central Ave # 03820, Dover, NH 03820 I brought one of my cats in to be treated last week. The staff was wonderful. The doctor was ver explanatory and my cat was well cared for. While I was there, I asked that my other cat be scheduled to be neutered, in addition to bringing the other cat in for suture removal. Both dates were scheduled and upon bringing the second cat in, the technicians were confused as to why I came in. When I told them, they said the cat would need shots before getting neutered, which is fine but I was not ever told that. They just stared at me and said nothing. When a representative (Leslie) called to follow up, she was defensive, nasty, talked over me, essentially told me I was a liar because "their staff always tell their patients this information." When I told her this information was not communicated to me, she told me she would send my patient folders back, that this was obviously not a good fit. When I requested to hear from the doctor, he was extremely aggressive and defensive. It was scary. There are some extremely passive-aggressive people in this practice, and am happy to move on. read more
