Over a month ago, I ended up moving from Miami, Florida to Van Wert, OH. I sold my home and had to put my stuff in storage. I had to wait until I took possession of a home in Van Wert, OH that I bought which would take a month. This necessitated my stay in a hotel up there. My family and I were going to fly up there, but just one problem: we have a cat. How do we get to the airport? We had no one that could give us a ride. Uber still does not offer services to take your pet on the vehicle, leaving it up to the individual driver to decide. I didn't want to have to deal with that. I did some research, and I found Wingz. It's a lot like Uber but they specialize in getting people to and from airports. More importantly you can arrange for pickup at a particular time and they accept pets! Awesome! I arranged pick up to Miami International Airport and put in the notes how many bags and the fact we are also taking a cat. Miguel Angel, the driver, picked us up and took us to the airport. We've used this company for a few years now. Most of the time their service is excellent. However, we've had two bad experiences with them. The first was a few years ago; we were on the way to the airport and the driver started asking prying, personal questions. Heck, we hadn't even been talking to him and suddenly he wants to ask about things that are none of his business. Ok, reported that to the company and they said they'd make sure he never picked us up again and they'd work with him on what's appropriate. Second bad experience was today: about three hours before a pickup that we booked well in advance we get an email saying the driver can't make it and there isn't any backup so we're on our own. What the heck? You'd think that at the very least they would have offered us a free cab ride or something but nothing, zip, zero. Just a sorry we're not going to be there. I booked a ride and requested a car seat. I had to modify the date/time of the pickup and assumed that the car seat request would carry over. It didn't. The driver showed up without a car seat and it wasn't his fault. Even if this wasn't a website problem and it was all completely my fault, customer service NEVER emailed me back even though I wrote them multiple times. The driver also called the driver phone line and she lied to me saying that she would email me and never did. Instead they charged me 50% for a ride that we couldn't take and we were stranded. I've used the service for about six trips now. The drivers are generally punctual and friendly. Only once did someone cancel on me, pretty much leaving me stranded. In that case, the company booked me a Lyft for about half the price Wingz charges. But here are the downsides. For airport pickups they have to know your flight info, including flight number. I don't think that's necessary. I don't think they have enough drivers working with this service, and I don't think it's very popular either. Every trip my driver has asked me if I'm making a return and if I already booked it. It's off-putting to be honest. And finally, their service can only be booked two hours in advance (thus making it likely you'll be stranded if your driver cancels or doesn't show), and their prices are 3 to 4 times higher than the competitors for what I would say is not a luxury or premium experience. read more

Terrible customer service! Wingz Applied a $17 luggage fee for a snowboard even though we were in communication with the driver 2 days before the ride and fully disclosed all our luggage. No mention of extra fees until we paid the tip. A few hours after the trip, We received an email from Jasmine (customer service) saying we were being charged $17 for the snowboard. We explained to jasmine via email that we had been in communication with the driver and included screenshots of the text exchanges. Note in the text messages driver insisted he could fit our stuff and never mentioned any extra charges. Jasmines response was poor and horrendous customer experience! She said we didn't declare the snowboard so will be hit with the fee. She ignored all communication with the driver! It was an epic FAIL. First time using the app. I use Uber Black for airport pickup. But I was attracted to three of their marketing pitches: 1. Drivers wait for you, not the other way around: Epic fail, I waited 10 minutes for the driver. The flight was delayed 27 minutes, but I had built in a 22-minute cushion for my pickup time, so I thought it should be fine. But the company sent the driver to another job as soon as they saw the flight tracker showed my flight was delayed. Not considering the pickup time I entered, which would only be 5 min late. I requested 5:15pm pickup and the gate arrival was 5:20pm. 2. The driver will wait for you 30 minutes: Nope, as soon as they see the flight is delayed, the driver dashed and picked up another job. Yet, they did not cancel or reschedule another driver. They kept the original driver, so I had to wait for the driver to finish another job! 3. To ensure a smooth pickup, communication is key: Failed; I texted the driver for the delay, but I had a 20 min cushion for pickup time, so I know it should be fine. The driver even replied, "okay." Yet, she still dashed. I even text the driver as soon as I touch down. Still, useless to communicate with the driver. If they had canceled my booking, I would have been on an Uber black in under 5 min. If I cancel, I will get charged and need to argue my way out. I didn't want to cancel the driver either. So, I stood there watching all the Uber Black pickups and looked pretty stupid. The Wingz fair was the same as Uber Black (I checked) but with a Dodge SUV and a soccer mom driver (no offense)! Stupid me! First time and last time! This company does not have the knowledge or driver pool to compete with Uber or Lyft at the airport. Point-to-point, maybe, but not the airport pickup. read more

My flight from Newark to Dallas was delayed due to weather in Dallas and my scheduled driver, James decided that he didn't want to wait for the flight and said he would get us another driver. When we arrived in Dallas, no driver, no ride, just an email excuse that no drivers wanted to accept the pickup. They offered a $5.00 credit if I ever wanted to use them again. Incredibly flaky and unreliable service. Our first ride was cancelled the evening before we were supposed to be picked up. The second one, the driver stranded us at the airport because he said he couldn't wait 20 minutes (our flight was a tad late, as flights often are!) The website says flights get a 30-minute leeway but he was unwilling to wait. (I was texting him from the flight letting him know the situation). Customer service has been incredibly flaky - no responses from them since after I've texted and called. Their advice that we "get a lyft" wasn't helpful - obviously I could do that, but the ENTIRE REASON I booked Wingz was for the car seat for my 2yo. When I first used Wingz four years ago they were great. I always got a driver confirmed within an hour. However, the last few years Wingz has been unreliable. Twice in a row my ride request sat in their system for days before I was told no driver was available. Then just over this holiday period I booked twice with Wingz, but the same thing happened: my request sat in their system for days without a response, so I just ended up canceling them and going with another airport shuttle service. I don't know why their service has deteriorated. If they can't find a driver, I'd appreciate being informed of that within hours of placing my ride request, not after several days. If you don't mind waiting a few days on the chance you might get a ride, Wingz may work out. For me, I need a more reliable service. Wingz used to be that, but not anymore. read more

Do I hear any bids on a ride from the San Jose airport to Sunnyvale? Vehicle must be recent model, mechanically reliable, clean (not dirty and of course not stolen!) with a spacious back seat, and trunk to hold up to 4 pieces of luggage. I had my ex-wife's husband, Ed, pick up the wife and I from the terminal B arrivals at San Jose Airport. The wife, like all the ladies, packed too much for carry on and had to pick up luggage at the carousel. By the time we got the luggage, the crowd was at its peak The place was packed as two large planes arrived at the same time, with 400 passengers requiring 200 vehicles to pick them up, in an arrivals area that could only hold 8-10 cars at a time. Who was the knucklehead who redesigned this airport mess!? Ed could not see us, among the hundreds, and with no stopping, had to make another loop pass, and 10 minutes, to find us. Next time, we called on my ex, she said that she and Ed were busy, and could drive us to the airport, but not pick us up 6pm on a weekday at the airport. We used a cab, and paid $40 for the 13 mile drive to central Sunnyvale, plus another $6 for tip. Cabs cost $15 minimum, and average $3 a mile. Highway robbery. Next trip, the ex and husband are conveniently out of town for our drive to and pick up from the San Jose Airport. I check Yelp looking for airport shuttles, and come across Wingz. I go to www.airportshuttles.com, enter our home address and airport destination, along with a time and date for pickup. We get bids from a number of forms of transport, including bus, shuttle and private car. Wingz is the private car company, and bids $27.50, each way, which includes all gratiuity. We accept that bid, bill with the credit card, give them our cell phone number, and shortly thereafter receive by e-mail a picture of the car, and the driver. Oliver in a late model metallic red Mazda CX-7 mini van. One day before the trip, we receive another e-mail with a change of driver/vehicle for the ride to the airport. We get a text message 30 minutes before pickup time, and confirm by text. 20 minutes past pickup time, driver Harjinder arrives, in a late model BMW 535i. Harjinder is apologetic, tosses the 4 luggage into the trunk, and the wife and I into the back seat of the black BMW. Riding in style to the airport., with Harjinder driving like he's on the BMW test track in Munich! Next trip, the ride back from the airport to the home. We miss the connecting flight home. I call Oliver, our wingz driver, tell him that instead of 8pm, we won't arrive until 9:47pm. No problemo says our driver. We arrive at gate 12, give Oliver a call, and walk the 2/3 mile to the arrivals past gate 28. Whoever designed this airport forgot to put in the surface escalators! No luggage to pick up this time! We get to arrivals, along with 100 other people, and wait for our driver. 5 minutes later I see the Mazda emblem on the wagon in the dark, and wave my cap. Oliver sees me for the first time, and dodges a few vehicles to get to the curb. 20 minutes and 13 miles later we are home, with Oliver hauling our two heavy carryons up the 16 stairs of our front entrance. I've used Wingz a couple of times now, and I love it! Eric has picked me up twice, and one of them was at 4am. I was afraid that I wouldn't get a driver because it was so early in the morning, but that wasn't the case. Eric, and another driver that I had, checked the traffic reports so I can get from point A to B on time. I really appreciate that. And booking a driver is easy with their app. You can now specify your flights so the driver knows if there is a delay. But it's a courtesy to text them of any problems anyway. And if you're getting picked up at SFO, you can get picked up at Arrivals. You can ignore the sign regarding app-based pick-ups that tell you to go to Departures. It costs more than a shuttle, but you're paying for reliability. And you know what the cost is upon booking. I recommend this service when you need a ride to the airport. read more

I had booked a ride with Wingz weeks ago to pick up my family and me at the airport today. While we were in the air, Wingz texted me to say the driver canceled and they were unable to find anyone else. We arrived in the airport and felt stranded. I scheduled a pick up at SFO with John on June 25, at 3:45 pm. Per the instructions sent to me prior to my arrival, I called John when I debarked. I had received a text telling me that he was en route and I was to meet him. Here is the conversation as I recall it: Me: Hi John. This is XXXXX. I've landed and want to double check where I should meet you. I think it might be on an upper level. John: To answer your question you should meet me on level 5. Me: Great. I'll see you there. John: No. Wait. You have two choices and neither is good for me. Me: Well, I'm the customer, so which is best for me? John: I am in San Francisco dropping off a passenger. You could wait for 30 minutes or call Uber. Me: What? Really? I can't wait for 30 minutes. Can you cancel this reservation? John: I don't know what to do on your end. Me: I don't either. John: I'll cancel it on my end. Me: Ok. (I hang up the phone and call Uber) If you think the above exchange is ok, then read no more. I don't understand how John could have texted me to meet him at SFO at 3:45 and at the time of my arrival when he was in downtown San Francisco. In addition, I don't understand why in the whole of the conversation he never apologized. He told me that both options were bad for him, meaning he really didn't want to pick me up the airport. II travel at least twice a month and I have used this company since they first started servicing the Oakland and San Francisco airports. They were GREAT! The drivers were courteous, prompt and helpful and the vehicles were clean and smelled fresh. Unfortunately, over the last several months, the service has deteriorated. I had a driver tell me "i'd appreciate a good tip." When I included this information in how I rated his service, I started receiving phone calls and texts from the driver!!! He called and texted me repeatedly leaving and sending messages asking me to retract my rating, saying I was hurting his livlihood... , Scary right, this guy knows where I live and has my cell number. I called the company, they called him and he stopped trying to contact me. But the attitude about it was pretty nonchalant. I asked to have a supervisor call me. They said someone call, but never did. With my last 3 trips I have had: drivers with poor attitudes, no help with luggage (just sat in the car while I dragged by bags into the back seat)., and a driver that was late picking me up. I've used Wingz several times for airport transport, and had always been pleased with the service, until last week. My ride was professional and pleasant. The driver had phoned as he was picking me up to help him locate my door, but was on time. So when he rang back after I had been long settled at the airport, I answered, assuming I had perhaps left something in his car. However, he did not speak words into the phone, but was clearly in the midst of... we're adults here. The heavy breathing was unmistakable, what he was doing perfectly clear. I quickly hung up - and he immediately called right back. I didn't answer, and screen shotted the call log. I emailed the company before I boarded the plane, explaining the situation, and awaited response. What I heard back floored me. I will copy it here verbatim: Hi Angela, Thanks for writing in. We apologize for the inconvenience caused by one of our drivers. We followed up with the driver to understand the reason why he called you again and according to him, he was in the rain and dialed your number by mistake. He conveys his apologies as well. I have added a $5 credit to your account which you can use for your next ride. Let me know if you have any questions. Regards, Kanav Wingz | Support Team http://help.wingz.me ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I responded, stating that the word is not "inconvenience," the word is "harassment." While I find it hard to believe that the dial was unintentional, given the clarity of the call and that he called right back when I hung up, it was a disturbing experience regardless. The flippant and patronizing response is nearly as insulting as the original offense. "He says sorry, here's $5." I have received zero response to my second email. I've used Wingz now at least a dozen times. For the most part it seems to work pretty well. But then I settled on one driver that I liked to use. After all that's the purpose of using Wingz, right? Tonight I scheduled a trip with my favorite driver. I purposely deleted all the other "favorite" drivers so that I could use this one particular person. He knows where I live, when I like to be picked up and also transports my pet as well. I tried 3x to get my favorite driver. He never received my request. So I ended up with a "stranger." I'm sure the "stranger" will be fine, but why did my favorite driver not get my request? This has happened 3x so far. So now I have to explain to the "stranger" that we're making a stop before the airport to transport my pet to a sitter first. This is ridiculous. Both my favorite driver and I are pissed. I had such a great experience booking with Wingz. Fof my first ride I used the app to go from SJC to my home. Afrikahn in his spotless Towncar pivked me up and gave me clear instructions on whete to meet him I have three more rides booked with Wingz. The first one ftom my house to SJC with Afrikahn,the second from SFO with Afrikahn and the last one for my Mother with another driver from SJC. Wingz has great customer service and the price is less than Uber Black or Lyft. Having a favorote driver builds rappaport and this is what I like in a car service. I will continue to use Wingz. I enjoy the ease of booking,payment tipping and enjoying the ride. It helps to make contacf with your driver the day before to confirm the details. Thanks for creating a reliable service. Most unreliable service with multiple last minute cancellations, foolish of me to give them another chance after the first Cancellation

1. My driver (Franklin https://wingz.me/p/franklin.er) never showed up for a pick up to go to the airport. He texted me to confirm a day before, but at the time of my ride he stopped responding to texts and did not answer his phone. I get it, stuff happens sometimes. Whatever happened with his situation, it's unacceptable that he basically ignored me. If I had not added some buffer, I would have missed my flight. 2. There's no way to track the ETA of the driver. Lyft and Uber tell you their ETA down to the minute. This is terrible UX since you don't even know if your driver will show up. 3. Wingz does nothing to help you with a new ride. You're basically SOL. 4. The current iOS app is super buggy now, the main view keeps refreshing and going back to the previous view after I tap of various parts of the app. 5. There's no direct feedback in the app if your driver never shows up. Also, I can't rate the driver for not showing up. I should be allowed to give the driver 1 star. Also, there should be a explicit button the app, "Driver never showed up". I've used Wingz multiple times in the past, but I will never be using Wingz again, and I will tell my friends to do the same. On so many levels, a poor and inferior user experience vs Lyft. read more

As I was planning my trip to Palm Springs and searching for car service, this company came up as one of the top 10, and I can see why. As soon as I booked, I received a text informing me who my driver was, the time he would be there, and the duration of my trip. Reginald then contacted me himself. He let me know when he was en route and his arrival at the airport (I think he was there before me lol). He was nice, a very smooth driver, had great conversation, and the mood was very pleasant. I actually fell asleep during the ride! I highly recommend this company and if you get Reginald, you will be beyond pleased! Oh, and there's no other passengers besides yourself or your party! I love the convenience of knowing I have my airport ride set up in advance and it has never let me down, even at 4am! All of my drivers have been courteous and punctual. The cars have been clean. Used wingz on recent east bay to airport run, driver was on time, courteous and drove safely. Had to change return flight details - no problem- just cancelled the ride on the app and made a new pick up time. Flight ended up being delayed but contacted driver and all was fine- picked me up where he said he would be and drove me home to the east bay - again courteous and safe - now if only wingz could solve traffic on 101! First time using Wingz, great experience and I will tell you why. Booking in advance, knowing exactly what it will cost (less than taxi for sure), avoiding the time consuming shuttles, all great! But the best was the service of my driver. Worst travel day I've had in a long time. Won't even go into the issues getting to airport to get here to San Fran, but suffice to say, I was upset and tired and sick by the time we took off almost an hour late. Then we circled the airport for a lot longer in terrible turbulence while the air controllers decided whether to let us land. So many air sick on this flight. This whole time I can't let my Wingz driver know how late we would be. He tracked the flight from the info I had given him and patiently waited the additional nearly 2 hours so I could also collect my checked bag which was last off the plane. When I found him up in departures he was smiling, funny and gracious about the long delay. Got me right to my hotel no messing around. Best experience ever for a way to get around. Highly recommend. I will happily book with Wingz and Van Dyke my driver again. read more

I used them 3 times before with no problem. On May 7, I booked a ride for June 2, 2023....they put a hold on my debit card. Two days before hand, they had not assigned my ride to a driver yet. I called them. They told me that if they could not get anyone to accept the ride, they would cancel at least 60 minutes before hand so I could find other transportation. In other words, if we don't pick you up at the airport, you are screwed. So we got to the airport and had an email that said, "Sorry, we had no one available to pick you up. Because of the pandemic we are really short handed." That is a lame A*** excuse...the pandemic has been over for 2 years, in fact, they gave me a ride last year in April, 2022. We had to call an Uber and despite the so called pandemic, they were there within 10 minutes. If you want reliable transportation and need to get where you're going, DON'T USE WINGZ. I need to add my 2 cents to the already existing complaints about Wingz! I've been a user of Wingz for the last 3 1/2 years. When I first started using Wingz 3 1/2 years ago I loved it. I love the personalized service and the idea of selecting my favorite driver every time I was off to the airport was a great benefit. I'm not sure what happened; new management, restructuring or new business model? Whatever happened, it is not for the better. I am sure Wingz management understand that there are plenty of car ride share services, that their customers can use but the reason we ALL choose Wingz is for the personal service. If want just anyone picking me up, I will call Uber or Lyft. At least with these services I don't have to worry about IF someone will show up or not. I just recently learn that the so-called favorite driver selection must be setup a certain way or you won't always get the driver you want. Wingz, why give use the option to have more than one driver if we can't really select the driver we want. I work in the IT field and I must tell you that your APP is horrible. You truly need to hire a developer to improve your Wingz App. Your customers should have the option to select their favorite driver. If the driver you select is not available, then a push-notification should let us know immediately, so WE can then select our second choice. It may come as a surprise to you Wingz Management but the only reason I use Wingz is because I can choose to have the same driver every time I travel. I have developed a real friendship with my driver, and with everything going on in the world; safety is truly important to me. It is nice to know you can trust the person driving you around. My last words of caution to Wingz Management, (decision makers). Car, ride-share companies are popping up every day, if you want us to continue using your services, you should truly promote your Key Offering (Personalize Driving Service). If you take away your customers ability to choose their favorite driver, we might as well use Uber or Lyft. OH... and pay your drivers far so they don't have to cancel rides because they're not making any money. Good drivers are the Key to your success ~ Just my 2 cents. read more
