PLAYING CHICKEN Still plenty of good noms at this chain, albeit a couple notches down from what it once was. I tend to frequent this Wingstop for lunch on weekdays, specifically on Mondays & Tuesdays when they run a promotion for 60¢ boneless. The lemon pepper is an ever-present flavor staple, and cajun is a personal favorite of mine. Mango habanero is decent, though not as good as B-dubs' version. Note that their pop dispenser now faces inwards, so you have to request a refill. I'm sure they did this as people would waltz in off the street and fill up buckets with soda when staff wasn't looking, which is hilarious. This Wingstop is located next to a shady dollar store, after all...... The men's room was out of soap, thankfully my hands were already fairly clean. Although the woman running things at the front was polite, they forgot part of my 20-wing order so I had to remind them. We love wingstop, for the most part! The service here is horrible, our order was done in 2 minutes, which at most places, it's either a good thing or a bad thing! The wings tasted crusty, and it was until we noticed the cook pre making all the wings and then just decrying them as they were ordering, that's not fresh at all. Pretty disgusting to say the least. I paid for stale wings and cold fries. I wouldn't ever dare to complain, because who knows what they would've done to my food. The Wing Stop is an absolute must visit for any wing lover! Everything about this place any self-righteous wing aficionado will totally love. The wings, they're simply amazing. Order them boneless or regular and with whatever sauce you could want and you'll fall in love. Extremely well cooked, crispy yet succulent which is so hard to get right for a lot of wing places. I also really like the fact you can watch them cook your order, none of that hiding the cooks thing. The fries, that's really what will have me coming back. I have no idea how they did it, but the fries have an amazing flavor that's tangy, salty, and sweet all wrapped together around a hand cut Idaho spud. The decor is extremely unique. It's all 1940s WWII era aviation themed decoration everywhere. I'm not sure I really understand why, or what it has to do with anything... but it's awesome! The tables, the walls, even the chairs all have this great cohesiveness that adds a cool vintage yet modern look to the place. -1 STAR There are a few negatives though. It's not exactly a restaurant, so you don't have a server. It's more of a fast food style place, yet the food isn't that fast, and the food is a bit better than fast food. And since you don't have a server you'd expect a trash can or some place to put the tray and plates of food once you're done... Nope. There weren't any. So we were thoroughly confused if we should leave the trays on the tables, but had no other choice but to do so. This is a new spot, so I understand they're still working out the kinks. I've been to Buffalo Wild Wings and Hooters countless numbers of times (before ever discovering a Wing Stop) and thought I was having good chicken wings. Never again will I make that mistake. Sure BWW has 100 TV's and sure Hooters has, well, hooters, but their food is treacherous compared to Wing Stop. The wings are all made to order. There's not an overwhelming amount of sauces (coughBWW!cough) but enough options to keep you satisfied: mild, original hot, atomic, lemon pepper, hawaiian, BBQ, garlic parmesan, and teriyaki. My personal favorites are BBQ and garlic parmesan. The BBQ is self-explantory, but the garlic parmesan is something I've never had elsewhere. It's a light garlic batter topped with actual parmesan cheese sprinkles. You can mix and match the sauces, or get half-and-half of two flavors. The fries are great too. Made fresh, lightly seasoned. The blue cheese is good too. I'm not a big blue cheese fan to begin with, so the fact that I order blue cheese with my wings & fries everytime I come here is saying something. Prices are very fair, they have some really good combo deals. This location is also much larger than the Harlem location. Three large TV's that are great for game days, plenty of tables. If you don't care for wings, the try the chicken strips or another restaurant. :-) The wings are of good size and quality, both the boneless and traditional. Food is not bad but they consistently screw up pick up order (and I consistently forget to check bag upon pick up). Every other time, they forget to include one side, be it cole slaw, fries, cheese dip..and so on. When you call them, they would just try to "write it down" so that when you go back next, they will give you what they forgot. I must have enough "fries credit" to give Idaho a season off. They say they can not reimburse on credit card what they forgot due to their "policy"- which is absolute BS (tip: when you get angry, they will reimburse your card). What? You mean you want your money back for what you did not get?! What kind of business you think we're running here?! They need to double check all outgoing orders. They have signs all throughout the restaurant saying "skip the line order ahead online" yet yesterday I waited in line for over 10 minutes to pick up my order. And the website said approximately 18 minutes before my order was ready. I showed up 22 minutes later, waited in line 12 minutes and my order still wasn't ready. Alrighty then, new place in Northlake, Cook County, Il. I recommend. The Wing Stop, It is an establishment specializing in Chicken Wings. I perfer the regular over the boneless, just better on taste. They have a 20 piece special for $11.89, the best deal. The restaurant appears clean, and has three large screen TVs, great for game days. Domestic beer is $3.00 per bottle, other $3.50 per bottle, not that bad. The help is great, went in there for a take-out order, they provided me with great conversation and a cup of joe. All the wings are cooked per order in the deep fryers, so wings are hot and fresh. They have nine different wing flavors. My favorite being Teriyaki, go Japanese or go home, I say. Now, for my "beef" I went to the restaurant for a late night munchie on 11/06/2011 and had a e-mail coupon from the Wingstop website (corporate) for 3 wings with the new Louisana Cajun Rub flavor for 99 cents with any order. So I joyfully ordered 10 boneless wings in Garlic Parmesian and Lemon Pepper and then presented the coupon to try the new flavor for an extra 99 cents. Sadly, the gentleman at the front counter said they don't accept the automated coupons that come from corporate with their location address on it. He then invited me to fill out the little slip to sign up for e-messages & coupons directly from their location. So I did and went home to enjoy and savor my delicious wings.
