I don't frequent Wingstop Evanston that much but by the picture of only the fries and not the wings, one can tell I loved the wings because I dont have a picture of them - lol. Parking is sometimes hard however one can park in small parking area then walk into the place. I usually get the 6 piece combo of Wings, Fries and a drink. I have been ordering from this place for many years, but today I ordered pick up, when I got home the wings were chewy and appeared to be uncooked, feeling uncomfortable eating them I called the store and spoke with a supervisor, I explained the problem and he straight out told me I was wrong, that the wings could be chewy but not uncooked because he uses a timer, I went back to the store and showed the supervisor a pice of chewy and slimy pice of chicken I had on a napkin, and he then continued stating he was correct on his statement I was wrong and he told me he was going to return my money, but the food was fine, the only problem he said was the the wings were chewy. We've been regular and frequent customers but the service has dropped significantly. They've twice left items out of our order and when we called the first time no one answered. The second time they offered to put one missing item, but not the other on our credit. The bags have come sloppy and grease spilling out and customer service is abysmal. The sauce: Their Atomic wing sauce gives new meaning to hot. Its not your typical super concentrated vinegar "hot" taste. Its like they've taken powdered cayenne & chili pepper and mixed them into a tangy, chunky marinade. The result is a stinging hot, which leaves you taste buds swelling with grief and you wet with sweat. The counter ladies were saying most people come back to complain that its too hot and too spicy. Try the sauce first people, they will allow you to sample it. (The taste is like "Indian" hot pickle) Their next two flavors, Cajun and Original are the same except with Cajun they've dusted the wings over with spicy Cajun seasonings. Original is your typical hot vinegar flavor with a bright reddish color. Which stains your fingers! So wash your hands and use plenty of soap and hot water. Seriously, there is a pinkish residue left on your fingers. I dined in. Kinda pricey for wings. Two people, food and a beer $21 and some change. They carry bottled beer (wide selection) and fountain drinks. Fries are good, steak fries, almost tangy(they definitely use new oil). A few things which didn't work for me: The music was so odd. They have TVs playing sports and the music is all 80's elevator style. I asked the manager about it, she simply stated that the 80's were an awesome time for her. Can't complain with that. I grew up going to Buffalo Joe's in downtown Evanston and when Wingstop opened, that was it! Instant switch. They have Bleu cheese dressing, not just ranch like BJ's, carrots and not just celery, also like BJ's, and a great variety of sauce flavors instead of just BJ's traditional buffalo (which I love), in varying degrees. Hubby and I LOVE their Cajun wings, and our daughter loves the garlic parmesan. We also get teriyaki and original hot, and their fries are delicious in all of the sauces! You can also order the classic which is the original with bone, or boneless, and they also have a decent imported beer selection. All in all, more options, with friendly, efficient service. This location is either on it or all over the place. I've had great experiences here where they get my order right and I pick up my wings without any issues. Unfortunately, there has been several times where they've gotten my order wrong, had to wait over 15 minutes past my pick up time and undercooked wings. I can understand a few occasions. But over half the time something is wrong. Had to write this review because I'm standing in the restaurant over 30 minutes past when my pick up time was. Wings are great....BUT...ordered for Super Bowl online, 2 days in advance and had to wait along with about 25 other angry people while the manager and crew finished an order for 700 wings. My order was an hour late and another customer was waiting 90 minutes. The manager refused to turn the football game on the tv's, which was ridiculous. My recommendation would be stop taking so many orders when you cannot fill the ones you have already. The staff of young people were overwhelmed and took a lot of heat from people trying to make the pickup and go watch the game. The manager is ultimately responsible for this fiasco and should've turned the game on and offered people some sort of discount or at least a free beverage while waiting. read more

The first outpost of a large chain on the North Side. Wingstop is a Texas chain-Troy Aikman is their spokesman and they're slowly expanding, there's one in Elmwood Park and looks like they're expanding in the Chicago-area. I stopped in there recently after a friend of mine told me that they opened right nearby. The Atomic is really hot and almost unbearable but that's what makes it good-pure heat and it looks like they use some sort of pepper paste and not just a sauce. If you want heat and flavor the original is still a good choice, it's got a good balance of both. Cajun is okay-it really does taste like original but with a slight twist. I wouldn't waste one of my flavor choices on it. The Garlic parmesan and lemon pepper are good choices too. On top of that Sweet Tea! I know that Mickey D's now constantly offers it but it's always nice to see places north of the Mason-Dixon line that has sweet tea, and it's pretty good as well. They're also open until Midnight everyday so if I have a late night craving for wings-or just greasy food I can come here instead of say...White Castle. Now, the bad news: Unless you order a combo meal everything is a la carte. So the usual accompaniment to wings: ranch/blue cheese, celery/carrot sticks, are extra. The wings are really small. They're just so....small, maybe they use free-range midget chickens or something but looking at them makes you think you're definitely not going to be full. I dined-in and I was looking at the 'dinner for two' combo and I realized it's what I ordered (I ordered the 10 wing combo +5 more wings for an extra 2.99) and the only difference is there's another drink tacked on. Maybe I'm just a big eater but I just kind of laughed at that since I didn't think two people would feel satisfied off of that, unless they filled up on the free refills. I agree with the other reviewer about the constant 80s music playing but when I was there 'Hungry Like the Wolf' came on and my friend and I immediately started quoting from the scene in 'Old School' where Andy Dick is scampering around saying 'Who's hungry? This place is so amazing! All of their food is so delicious and phenomenal. Their chicken wings are so tender, tasty, juicy, and so great. It comes with different flavors, lots of variety, and they literally have a big menu. Their staff is so friendly, nice, and decent. They will greet you and even show a big smile once you enter their place. They will also assist and guide you to the vacant spot or your desire spot in the place. The wings here are just plain dried out. The last three times I came the wings were so dry and shriveled. They are suppose to be making wings to order. I explained upon ordering to please cook the wings from scratch. I threw up everything after eating it. There is plenty of parking in the front. It shares a parking lot with Sarpino's, Da Jerk, etc. $12 is too much money though for old dried out wings. Consistency is a huge problem with businesses like this once. Some Wing Stops are better than others. I just pray that there is no dead rat meat in any restaurant being served up as boneless chicken wings. I saw this place on Yelp and figure I will check this place out since it was about 10-15minute drive from where I work. Not to mention, I didn't eat any meat for about 6 days which make me crave for meat. It's the last time I'm going to eat veggie/yogurt/fruits for such a long period of time w/o meat. The Garlic Parmesan was my favorite since it was just so favorful, crispy, and unhealthy. Their fries was good and unique for me since I never tasted fries with salt and sugar in it. Normally, there would be too much salt in the fries that you can not taste the sugar e.g. McDonald. The place was very clean and look very nice to me. The staffs was very friendly even in person. The place has 2 TV for sports and they offer beer also. Overall, I liked the food and definitely will order from here once in awhile. I ordered the combo and it came with fresh cut potato french fries that were outstanding, although on the salty side. One downside about this kind of food is that it WILL put you into a food coma. I nearly fell asleep on the way home! Next service. The food is made to order so if you want to eat immidietely then I suggest calling ahead. I waited about 10 minutes but again it was worth it. I chose Wingstop due to reviews indicating that they beat BWW in flavor comparison. I ordered three flavors; Spicy Korean, Original Hot, and Louisiana Rub. The Original Hot and the Louisiana Rub were way too salty and overpowered any flavor. The Spicy Korean were by far the best out of the three. Tip to Wingstop and anybody else selling food: Ease up on the salt. Use herbs and other spices to add flavor. Salt is a mask. I could have cooked some frozen Tyson wings at home and got the same ovetsalted results. I'm so tired of giving away my money to companies who just don't care about anything but their bottom line.
