My family got it for the first time, accidentally ordered a lot of food at a busy time (6:30 pm on a Monday) so the wait was like 30 minutes in the drive thru. (If you're unfamiliar, where they give the food is at the black screen door like 10 feet away from the speaker) But the service from the lady who took our order was great still. She is sweet. The carne asada fries were absolutely worth the wait, i believe it normally comes with guac, but we ordered it on the side. The fries were CRISP. I'm telling you. And they were loaded. Horchata was bomb, hard to go wrong with that. The cups are a sturdy plastic so plus. OH let me tell you about the salsa!!!! I could drink their green salsa. I did. You can tell they make it themselves, as well as the horchata. Fish burrito is solid, though the chorizo torta we had wasn't the best. BEAN AND CHEESE IS GREAT. It almost has a sweeter taste than the other bean and cheese burritos I've had. Really enjoyable. Twust me. Bean and cheese is usually my go-to so I've had a good amount of em in my life. But this time I ordered 2 pollo soft tacos but i got hard shells that had mashed potatoes i think, idk the name. They may have heard us wrong, the speaker in the drive thru is a little old. First off, the salsas are incredible. They have four different kinds, and each one is damn tasty. I always judge a Mexican restaurant by its salsas and refried beans, and Wings and Mix excels in both areas. Speaking of beans, their beans are made with white beans (the wonderful woman told me the name of the beans but I can't remember), which was a unique and delicious twist. They were creamy, flavorful, and definitely some of the best I've had. The service was outstanding. The cashier was super friendly and helped us pick the best items to try. She even brought us fresh chips straight from the fryer, which was a nice touch. We stuck to the Mexican cuisine despite the eclectic menu that offers everything from tortas to Greek salads, hamburgers, and BBQ pork ribs. This time I got the carne asada fries with cheese, sour cream and guacamole. First off, the order is HUGE. The fries, which are crinkle cut (the best) are deep fried and crispy. That step definitely enhances the plate, because your not eating soggy fries. They hold up against the weight of everything else. It's A LOT of food. Super delicious and I highly recommend. As a first time customer, I have to say the service was great and the food was phenomenal! I love that the location is only 5 minutes away from my house. When you think of hole in the wall taco shop, this is the place. You can tell that before this place was taken over it was not a drive thru restaurant previously. Its a small size red building. When you drive through the "drive thru" you're met with a small black box speaker and there is no window to collect your food. After you finish ordering you pull up forward and someone comes outside the back white screen door to take your money and bring out your food in the process. This place isn't the best taco shop around but I come here because of the convenience of being so close to home and how hot and amazing the salsa is. I came here to get a California burrito. Inside their California burrito includes carne asada, salsa (pico de gallo) french fries and that's it. I asked if they could add guacamole to mine (which is adding extra to my bill) The entire time I was ordering the woman had snapped and me and was not friendly. Which came to a surprise to me since the last time I came to get a bean and cheese burrito the customer service was amazing. When I finally arrived home I was FURIOUS! I always unroll my burrito to check if they made my order right. Right as I opened the wrapper to my burrito there was sour cream ozzing out. My jaw dropped because 1: their Cali does not come with Sour Cream and 2: I did not request sour cream. I than unrolled the entire burrito to find that they only put the sour cream in the corner of the burrito and not mixed inside. Probably realizing they messed up. I also found LOADS of carne asada, a large layer of guac and a laughable portion of 5 single french fries in total!!! Not to mention, NO PICO! (Will be adding photos) I called them to see if they would be willing to fix their mistake. When the woman answered and I explained the situation she responded with, "Uh...I don't understand.. Sorry." I than decided to speak in Spanish and than told her the same problem, just in Spanish. I am fluent in that language since it's the language my mother taught me.. After explaining again in Spanish came silence. She did not respond and stayed quiet over the receiver. I than realized that they DID understand the problem but they were not willing to fix it, so I hung up. Iv'e only ever had a bean and cheese burrito here before. It was fine, nothing special, but like I said before I was drawn by how close it was to me and how hot their salsa was. But I will not be returning for their bad customer service and bad way of "making a meal" Their name is confusing but they do service chicken and wing options although being primarily a taco shop. update: I was messaged about the California burrito not having Pico and that it says so on their menu. So who ever I asked what was in their burrito probably misheard what burrito I asked information for. But it still did not excuse how the sour cream was only on the lip on the tortilla, the 5 single fries on the burrito and the bad customer service over the phone. read more

Found this place by accident. Had to park my jeep blocks away since it was overheating and on google maps this place showed up within walking distance. Was confused at first because I've never ran into a mexican restaurant offering wings. Had the 6 piece chicken tender combo and it came with fries and a drink. Good value for about $13. Had a long upsetting day and finally dug into the meal after settling at home. I did not get to try it fresh but after an hour and a half the meal was still warm. Tastes comparable to Wings & Things and I'll definitely try them again when I pass by Vista. read more

My wife and I discovered this place a few days ago, and the first time we came here, we ordered the chipotle buffalo chicken fries and the carne asada fries, not realizing how large the portions were. We were impressed by the flavors and overall quality of the fries. Craving the chipotle buffalo chicken fries, we returned only a couple days later. We also ordered a pollo asado burrito. The second visit was just as good as the first. Firstly, the fries they use as the base for their fry dishes are well-seasoned and crispy; they're not the bland, soggy fries you get at most places. Even without the toppings, these fries are tasty. That brings me to the toppings. On both the carne asada fries and the chipotle chicken fries, there is a generous amount of toppings, well-distributed throughout the plate. Every bite will have sauce, cheese, and meat. It was a pleasant surprise, because many places will throw some toppings on a pile of fries, so 2/3rds of the plate will just be a soggy bunch of plain fries. Plus, the chicken was crispy, and there was plenty of buffalo sauce, chipotle sauce, and cheese. The carne asada fries were also loaded, and the meat itself seemed to be well-marinated and actually taste like carne asada, rather than just plain beef. Their pollo asado burrito was also tasty; the chicken was moist and seasoned, and the ratio of pico, guac, and chicken was excellent, in my opinion. Just enough to get some in each bite, but no single ingredient overwhelmed the burrito. Lastly, they offer four salsas (tomatillo, chunky, very hot, and avocado). I recommend trying all four. I really enjoy their very hot salsa and their avocado salsa, but honestly, I could practically drink any one of their salsas. Give this place a shot if you're around the way. read more
