Visited Wing Nuts for lunch and as a celiac, was glad to see that they do gluten-free as they don't have a fryer, their fries and chicken are baked. Place is a sports bar and it seems like they have lots of events going on here, which look fun. The place was empty when we went with one table finishing up as we were coming in. It was a weekday at 1 PM. There was a server and a cook and somehow service was still pretty slow. Our order got put in wrong so I had to wait for my chicken to be made. After much consideration, my partner and I decided to give Wingnuts another try. We're currently on a keto diet, which really limits our options, so when we saw a Groupon, we figured, "what the heck?" We're so glad we did! Wingnuts is back, baby! Have used them at the Decatur Location with no problem. On September 26, 2025 we drove 45 minutes to go to the one on Decatur. We get there and the door is locked shut. They closed that location BUT the sign on the door directed us to the "other" location, 360 E Tropicana Ave. So we hopped back in our car and drove ANOTHER 30-40 minutes to that location. We pull up, go to the door and they inform us that the restaurant has no power and therefore it's closed. HOW FRUSTRATING! We gave up and went home. Today, Sept 28, 2025, we take my nephew to the open location. They refused our groupon! Said they are called Wing Nutz Tavern and don't do groupons! The 'on duty' manager refused to honor it. Went to WingNutz for Wednesday Trivia. The cozy dining space already has several full tables and the rest filled up before trivia started. I ordered a beer and my girlfriend had a whiskey and diet. We also ordered the wings and a half order of chicken nachos. The baked wings were delicious and the chicken on the nachos was perfectly juicy. The portion for the half nachos was very generous. Service time was longer than it should have been, but understand with how packed the place was. It would have been helpful to have more than 1 server to assist. I've driven past this place quite a few times wondering what it is. We decided to give it a try when everything else near it was closed. It's basically a sports bar. Quite a few TV scattered around the place. We got our order to go. I got the pulled pork sandwhich. It was good but really lacking meat it was mostly bread. The macaroni and cheese was very basic nothing special. It didn't have a lot of flavor. Barely even cheese flavor. My husband got a burger he said it was good. We also tried the street tacos. They were loaded with Pico de Gallo (I'm not complaining here! I wish Mexican restaurants would pile it on like that!) The chips were ok again not much to write home about. The food was nothing to write home about. But it was reasonably priced and it didn't take long to get our order. I was trying to figure out the reason the to go boxes had holes all up in the tops of them. I'm hoping they did it so the chips wouldn't get soggy but it looked like a mouse chewed them up. We have been here multiple times during the football season for the games. It's a cute little place with really good wings- We go here because of the jersey give aways- However, the fact that you guys rig the jersey giveaways 6 out of the 7 times we have been here Is completely unacceptable and quite honestly it feels like it's fraud. This time was a little different because we actually ended up with other peoples tickets as they gave them to us when they left- This is false advertisement at the very least. The fact you allow this to continue is ridiculous. Your staff is giving them to him. Either your staff is stealing from you, the business owner, or the owner is aware and allows this. This is a very dishonest way to run a business. Not trying to make anyone lose their jobs- but seriously, management/owners - this is not a way to run your business! The food here is amazing. The service on the other hand is terrible. They lock the doors with a chain at 8:30 even though they are open until 10. The sign above the door reads 'doors to remain u locked during business hours). The waiter said that it's because they are short staffed. However in the 2 hours we were there there were only 2 other tables and one of them was a to go order. There are 2 servers and 1 manager plus the cook. The one lady told the server that it was a fire hazard to lock the doors. The server said he had to do it. From the time they put the chains on the door at 8:30 THREE different groups of people tried to come in. One of the groups was at least 7 people. This business will end up closing if they don't change the staff. The cook takes shots, one of the servers is eating while he's 'cleaning', and the other server is on his phone. It used to be busy when we would come in. Less and less people are showing up. The waiter is on his phone instead of checking on us to see if we need another drink. I am sad that their service is so bad because the food is really good. The 3 stars is for the food. They lose 2 of the stars I had given them in the past. Unfortunately you have lost a loyal customer. I have been eating here at least once a week for the past 2 years. But tonight was the last night until the staff is changed. read more

I've been wanting to try this place for a while to get my wing fix. I came in knowing nothing except this place is here. I walked in and was expecting something more to go like wing stop but it's primarily a sit down. I was greeted right away, walked through the menu, allowed to try some sauces since this was all new to me. Ordered the 18 bone in wings and the fries chips. The chips were soggy but I toasted them when I got home so they worked out. The wings were great. I personally can't tell between fried and baked, but I'm going to trust baked is the way to go. My friend recommended this place for a few reasons - the first being that they don't use any breading nor deep fry their wings, but still make them delicious and offer a ton of sauces to choose from. This place definitely hit the spot! The inside doesn't look too much different from an everyday sports bar, but their quality standards are much higher. The wings are delicious, and there's actually a whole "secret" menu of sauces to choose from that are permutations of the sauces and rubs offered on the regular menu - be sure to ask for this. One of my friends got a mango pepper lime one and I got one called summer curry that was really flavorful. Also, the mac and cheese is too tier! Very few vegetarian options - just a couple salads and a quesadilla really. The staff was very nice and helpful with going through the menu. It's seems crazy when I give someone 4 stars, yet still critic certain things. However, I try to do pros and cons when they're noticeable. Side Salad: they must prep these ahead of time, probably every few hours or so, since it comes out with everything on top of flattened lettuce. STILL a great salad though. Lettuce, tomatoes were crisp. Wings: I got the dry rub, garlic cajun. It was great. When it comes to dry rubs vs sauces, I would prefer the rubs simply because they have less sugar. But the downside is that they can't be as hot. I like hot really enjoyed my wings. Cooked just right and had a really good flavor. Downside of my visit is that apparently the staff really likes to watch the show "Friends". They turn the sound up, sit at the bar and you have to tough out the sever thirst that creeps up on you because you're waiting for a refill to quench your thirst and wash down your food. My server was really nice, she just liked the show better. By the way, I'm the only customer here at the moment (1:12pm) so it's not too much to expect a little extra service. Turns out, I drank the most expensive tea in town today and apparently no refills. Not always the case at this location but today Friends was on TBS and that was more important! Not impressed, especially for the price. The tenders were very average, the sauce was the only thing providing flavor. We got one order of jalapeño honey and one order of garlic parmesan tenders. The jalapeño honey just tasted like regular barbecue sauce. The garlic parm was very runny, like other reviews stated it was a pool of sauce. Dry rub is probably better for the tenders. The baked wings were good. For $55 for 3 people, i definitely feel like the quality of food could be better. How is this place still in business? My daughter's honey BBQ boneless wings she said were spicy, and the sauce was so runny, it barely stuck to the meat. My husband and I each ordered buffalo chicken sandwiches and the only redeeming thing was the bun. The buffalo sauce was so vinegary and runny, again, didn't stick to the chicken. It doesn't help that there's no breading. The description is off. The restaurant only had two other tables occupied, one of which seemed to maybe be family of the new management.
