The food is amazing. I dont even like fish and I will eat the fish here. its fresh and well prepared. And the BANANA PUDDING is AMAZING. I drive out of state for it.. and the staff is so friendly. You feel like family. If I drive 380 miles for it its worth it to drive across town. and the collard greens are amazing as well.. plus its locally owned. support local "real" people. and the koolaide is great espically when you mix it together. but im big on service and this resturant has great service and great friend. The fish was soggy and soft no crispy to it at all , the greens was mushy the mac n cheese was bland tasted like some regular Kraft mac n cheese . Catfish was good. They really need to work on their side dishes. Collard greens were mostly cabbage and didn't have much of a tasted. Cabbage seemed boiled instead of steamed. Mac n cheese wasn't really cheesy. Peach cobbler crusted wasn't crust. read more

Now the reason I will NOT be going back I got FOOD POISON from the fish it wasn't cook properly my Husband fish was fine I started throwing up it was coming out of both ends the sign on the wall says we cook our food fresh maybe but this wasn't cooked at all the sign all so says please be patience well it should have been a red FLAG when the fish came out very quickly. We found this spot on yelp when looking for a quick good meal on a Saturday night! We didn't realize how close the place was to our home but we decided to give it a try! We attempted to order over the phone but decided to wait until we got to the restaurant so we can review an updated menu! When we got there we were greeted and helped through the menu to determine what we wanted. We decided on the seafood sampler (catfish, jumbo shrimp, fish bites, oysters and fries) my husband and I shared and it was still a great portion! The food was really good and seasoned! We also go dessert my husband got peach cobbler and I got lemon pound cake both were pretty good! We will definitely be back! This was not our our first time however it has been a long time since we have been back we have tried to support businesses in our community however, after today's trip, I will not be back. The fish was deeply over fried. The shrimp was over fried the okra, which I love it was even hard today for the prices that they charge I don't think it's fair for you to expect your customers to eat what was served today or any other day. Had a great shrimp poor boy with fries and exceptionally great pickles. Catfish was marginal. Good chicken tenders. Great slaw. It takes awhile for your food but a big sign warns you of that! Place can use a deep cleaning and only a few chairs and one table next to a large trash can, makes it really a busy takeout joint. Recommend not dining inside. They fried fillet fish is seasoned to perfection and fried perfect nice and crunchy but they sides are not worth it at all I think I tried most of them and they are just not it kool-aide is bomb liquid syrup lol but it is over priced and the lady told me it was expensive to make as if we don't know kool-aide packets are like 30 cents or less lol but hey. Always check your food before you leave my food is always wrong and you would hate to get all the way home and have to come back if it's a big mess up read more

Me and my husband tried for the first time yesterday. Love the ambiance very friendly staff. Love that the food is cooked to order. The yams were the red beans were good. The greens were good except they should've told me they were mixed with cabbage. But still good. The catfish was good, fried to perfection. Could've used a tiny bit more seasoning. Didn't like cutting 1 fillet into 4 strips. I felt cheated a bit. The Mac was a miss on all levels. I like my Mac n cheese baked this was soupy like. Although the cornbread was homemade it seemed to lack a little sugar. Kool aid was good. In all we will back probably today!! read more

The food at the Fish Cage is always good. They are very consistent with the flavor/freshness of their food. My go to on every visit is the crab balls, they are deep fried crab cake heaven. First time trying the fish cage and the sampler plate was nothing short of amazing. Fresh, seasoned and the red snapper delicious, Not over salted, I enjoyed my order and will be back. One suggestions when we have the face of our companies representing us out in the forefront, a genuine smile with a more cordial presence goes such a long way. I ordered here for the first time since mamas kitchen was closed today. I ordered to go over the phone and had to repeat my card number because the music was too loud in her background. She then charges my card with out telling me how much the total was. I had to ask her how much my total was which took her a minute to tell me. I get to the place, as I am walking in a lady is walking out on the phone conversing with whoever so, I walk to the desk. Look around. No body is around or seems to be aware I'm here so I say hello. A lady from the backs comes to the front and ask if I just called for a Togo order. I said yes. She gives me a receipt to sign, hands me my items and before I can even ask for more packs of tartar sauce and the ranch I had asked for over the phone. She disappears to the back. I'm Always in the market for a new fish market to add to my list. Unfortunately after visiting Fish Cage the search continues. The list of things that I really liked about fish cage where the hush puppies...............period. Between the shrimp, fries and catfish that we ordered. Everything was either over seasoned or over cooked in my opinion. I don't know about you but I don't enjoy eating hard food.
