Plenty of families were enjoying the park when we visited which goes to show it's a great place to be!

They have mild spots for beginners, and extremely difficult long hikes for those who love a challenge! There are many paths to take and different destinations, so you never get bored of hiking the same trail over and over. There's always a surprise. The view is absolutely stunning, and somehow, it's always so clean! I absolutely adore this trail, it's the only trail I go to now. Here's a photo of me after the hike! Right now a part of it is being worked on, with a new walk bridge. People and dogs like to play in the stream. There are sculptures around the walking area and concerts on Friday nights during the summer. You can also walk across the train tracks by the Pavillion and go to White Duck Taco and Yee Haa Brewery. I take my dog at least once a week if possible to socialize and go to the Farmer's Market and lunch at White Duck - fun!

There are a few food spots along the route, like Jersey Mike's, if you want to stop for a bite. They also had porta potties available along the trail and a parking lot at the starting point, which was convenient. Me and my wife recently came here during thanksgiving week to see what this place is like. This place was absolutely awesome for what it was! We didn't have a dog but they were welcoming of that. The people that come here are absolutely friendly and they seem like regulars that come here. This is such a great social event where everyone gets to me everyone and it's way better than going to a sit-down establishment. Even though is an outdoor place there's at least a shelter where you're indoors by the bar and you got heat keeping you warm. Restrooms were very clean , the food is absolutely astounding. This place has non alcoholic beverages as well if you do not want to drink. Staff here was very friendly and everyone here is down to earth. Highly recommend visiting this place if you have a chance. Before driving through the area I had looked prior to starting the drive if there were any…read moreinteresting places to see that I may never have the opportunity to see again - this covered bridge is one I had booked marked so why not. I consider these types of structures interesting and definitely qualifies as a roadside attraction and oddity in my opinion. We arrived mid-day to find a few visitors mulling around snapping a few photos and taking advantage of the free access. The Doe River below was filled with ducks and geese swimming and looking for a free handout, apparently they have become accustomed to the generosity of the visitors here. This is a well built bridge that reminds you of how things used to be built there aren't many projects now days that are built to last 143 years, although this covered bridge hasn't been in service since the Federal Highway Administration and the Tennessee Department of Transportation funded a $400,000 bridge rehabilitation in 2003-2004 at that time, it was closed to vehicular traffic and converted into a pedestrian-only bridge. It's definitely a survivor having withstood major flood events in 1901, 1940, 1998 and the horrific flooding in September 2024 and she still stands as beautiful as ever...
