I lived around the corner from this place for about a year so I would frequent it often for "safe"…read moreitems such as pop, chips, non-perishable food items and cigarettes -- items dodgy convenient stores move frequently and don't sit on the shelves for years collecting dust. I should have stuck to this rule but one day I guess I decided it would be alright to pick up a box of cereal. I figured that sort of thing takes a long time to expire so I grabbed Multigrain Cheerios and was on my way. When I had my first bowl I knew something was wrong -- it was very stale and tasted like sawdust. To my surprise the front of the box was advertising the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney... I bought the cereal in 2002. So even though this place is fine for your usual convenient store items I would highly suggest staying away from any food. And if you do find yourself browsing those items then make sure you check the expiration date because they likely have tins of beans from 1997.

Their products are a bit pricey, but it's sort of expected from any Ontario Distiller given the unfavorable laws we have towards distilleries. The only true downside to the experience of going there is there limited hours, however I'd rather go to a good distillery that was rarely open rather than a mediocre one that was open all the time.

The same dude went into the back room and found me another survival pack with a summer ale instead of the winterweiss. He said they cannot display the summer stuff anymore because of the season change. Okay, so I know it's just a Beer Store, kind of like the many other ones that are all over Ontario…read more And while most of them wouldn't get a lot of stars from me, this particular one I've found to be even less useful than most. From a larger perspective, Beer stores in general have become less useful, unless you're into picking up larger cases of beer (which I'm usually not). For my liking, in that I often buy only a dozen or so at a time, and often like to pick up a bunch of mixed singles, there are better stores than this one. As it pertains to this particular store, I've found that they have less selection than most other stores, and I also tend to find them less organized (not only are their shelves of mixed singles often messy, the store itself has things all over the place). They also seem to be terminally low on stock of some of the singles. Last time I couldn't find any of the buck a beer options. Not sure if they carry them at this store, but hard to tell. The people that work here are nice, and tend to be as efficient as in most other stores. This is the closest beer store to my house, but I'll often go a little out of my way to go to a different store, or go to the LCBO, who have a far better selection of singles beers.
