a rare and exclusive bottling brought me out to this location, a couple of times, and its been…read moreworth the trip every time. not exactly the best location for me to drive to from the west end of Toronto, but this location has never let me down in my handful of trips. the location is very bright and open with seemingly endless stock options across all segments of alcohol. the first time I came to this location I did need to ask for help, as something wasn't on the floor and for some reason they had a bottle of whisky ($90) in the back to prevent theft. great staff at this location, and each time i've made the trip every single cashier was open and killing the line up in the store, literally less then 5 minutes of waiting! lots of parking as this location shares a parking lot with all of the businesses in this complex. transit options are 56 leaside bus, the 88 south leaside bus, indirectly the 51 leslie bus, or the 54 eglinton bus. (soon to be replaced with the eglinton/line 5 LRT line) would go out of my way to come to this location.

this location looks small, but packs a serious punch and is also brand new…read more this outstandingly clean store has one of the biggest wine collections that I have seen, given the space of the store front. this location isn't very wide by any means but is super long which allows for a lot of storage of bottles. the staff here are super great, some of the best in the LCBO system, where you are greeted on arrival and attended to, no matter what you are after. this location definitely goes the extra mile. parking options are on the street, and various above ground parking lots in the area. transit options are the 501 queen directly, the 502 downtowner and 503 Kingston road (limited schedule) also the 504 king and the 72 pape are options with a bit of a walk. I really wish this was my home location, as I have come here a couple of times and have not been let down.

On Saturday, I felt like getting a cooler or vodka soda. I decided to drop by after fetching groceries. It was raining, but it wasn't a huge downpour like it was when I was putting my groceries into my car! I parked fairly close to the entrance, which is off to the side of the building. I went in without an umbrella, as it was steps away. It was interesting seeing gifts for mom. I don't know whether this display spilled over from Mother's Day or if this store chooses to celebrate moms all the time. I frankly like the latter initiative. This store has an extensive local craft beer section, which happens to be in the fridge area. Every craft beer that I have had locally was right in front of me. It was impressive. It also made me realize that I have consumed a lot of beer over the years... haha! I have my usual Cottage Springs line of vodka sodas and coolers that I enjoy. I wanted something different. I got a can of Nutrl raspberry vodka. It was going for $3.50. I went to pay at the counter. I got a cheerful man. It looks like all LCBO staff at the checkout wear black gloves. He scanned my Aeroplan barcode off my phone. I then paid with my credit card. I tapped and all was great. I thanked the man and headed to my car. I put my drink away and continued with running errands. Last night, I had the raspberry vodka. It was perfect. It had decent raspberry flavour with a strong vodka presence. It didn't have any added sugar, so I was happy. I'd get it again. It was nice to finally drop by this store. There's lots of parking and it's as crazy as other LCBO stores on major streets. (219)

I guess an employee saw my arms getting full and decided he'd help out. He came by with a bag and helped me unload the goods. I was looking for a survival pack from Muskoka Brewery but noticed they were all sold out. The same dude went into the back room and found me another survival pack with a summer ale instead of the winterweiss. He said they cannot display the summer stuff anymore because of the season change. Instead of letting this beer go to waste in the back, I took the case and grabbed a tally of the winterweiss and checked out. I sauntered out of there like a kid in a candy shop, happy as can be! The store is clean and organized and hosts some great employees.

From a larger perspective, Beer stores in general have become less useful, unless you're into picking up larger cases of beer (which I'm usually not). For my liking, in that I often buy only a dozen or so at a time, and often like to pick up a bunch of mixed singles, there are better stores than this one. As it pertains to this particular store, I've found that they have less selection than most other stores, and I also tend to find them less organized (not only are their shelves of mixed singles often messy, the store itself has things all over the place). They also seem to be terminally low on stock of some of the singles. Last time I couldn't find any of the buck a beer options. Not sure if they carry them at this store, but hard to tell. The people that work here are nice, and tend to be as efficient as in most other stores. This is the closest beer store to my house, but I'll often go a little out of my way to go to a different store, or go to the LCBO, who have a far better selection of singles beers.

However, I have been passing by this LCBO every week that I decided to stop by and check the store out. This LCBO used to be a No Frills years ago. No Frills is now down the street, a few blocks east of here. This LCBO is spacious and easy to walk around. Even though you couldn't tell with my mask on, I had such a huge smile on my face when I saw BEER WORLD in huge capital letters on the right side of this store when you first walk in. Sure, there were red arrows taped on the floor to guide you through the store. I just had the sign to this heavenly world as my beacon for beer delight. It's one huge beer fridge. The selection is decent. All my favourites were there (yay, Stella!), both local and world beer varieties. All were nicely chilled, including me after I was done browsing. I finally picked up an eight-pack of Cottage Springs vodka soda. I like them. They are refreshing on a hot day and don't contain any sugar. Back in April, there was a lineup of customers outside the door. I didn't see anything like that at around 7 pm when I got there. There wasn't a lineup to pay for my booze, either. The woman was friendly, although she didn't wait for my yanking out my Air Miles card for some reason. She apologized. Anyway, I collected my points, paid using my debit card, and walked out happy with pack of vodka soda. I had a nice experience here. The parking lot does get busier by the LCBO because people want their alcohol. It's in a plaza with a Shoppers Drug Mart, so there's plenty of parking. (230)
