a box of wine in a store
Sarah T.

Wine Impression is one of the best wine shops in all of San Francisco. The owners are friendly and helpful, they have an outstanding collection of wines and many chilled wines/beers/bubbles "ready to go" in the cooler, plus unique and "hard to find" wines that other wine shops can't get their hands on. As a bonus, they are also funny and just all around good, awesome people. I am always about supporting shops with cool owners and a great selection. Today, in particular, I was searching for Beaujolais Nouveau and after being in another part of the city looking around and visiting other wine shops without any luck of this highly allocated wine that just released yesterday, Wine Impression delivered! I should've known that they'd have received one of the very few coveted allocations in all of SF and gone here first! Lesson learned! :) I was so happy to have found my wine, and buying from them was a pleasant experience as it always is. I left the shop smiling with my special little stash of wine. :) I can't wait to return.

I can't imagine a better wine store. If you need it they will have it...or something to recommend that is just as good or better.

They have things other places don't and great staff/owners to help you choose. Go there and try the dry Lambrusco Cantina della Volta.

“Rusty isn't "staff" per se since he's a part owner, but he did tell me that I was spending too much on an inferior bottle of wine my first visit.”

Where are my pictures?…read more Quality/Quantity - Walked by here almost daily in the last 3 weeks. As a kid, this used to be the local mom and pop convenience store. Yes I am so outdating myself! But it has been an upscale liquor store for a very long time now. Okay, as I was saying, while walking and spoiling my daughter to Kiss of Matcha, then spoiling myself to Richmond Republic Draught House, see other reviews, I saw the sign of a free tasting and you got me. We came back at 5:25pm after "partying" with my daughter and watching FIFA. I did not expect much, but when I got here, a few locals (also from the Republic) hung out, drank/tasted more and bought a few Fraction 4 packs. Fraction Brewery is from our Alameda Island across the bay, my old hang out. Boy do I miss Spirit Alley... And Rockwall. If you know, you know. We/I had such a good time here. I love hanging with the locals. And it brings back so many memories from the old neighborhood. Ambiance - A small local high end liquor store. Clean, organized, and professional. Plenty of street parking, both metered and free residential. But we walked. Service - The person serving us from Fraction was amazing! What a great ambassador for both Fraction and this business. Price - Free + the cost of what you buy. Prices are slightly higher here as expected. Owner Comment - Congrats on all your success here since 2013 and with your 4 locations.

Everyone is friendly and never had a bad experience here. I also recommend the Palestinian olive oil; great product which is difficult to find elsewhere.

Expecting to be sent over to 9th Ave., I was surprised to be told to go to Judah and 6th. It turned out to be a very pleasant surprise! The shop is quite a mix of things. Think of part cafe, part ice cream shop, and part corner liquor store. It is extremely clean, from the dining tables to the rest room. I was very comfortable sitting down here for a snack and a coffee. The baklava was excellent. Your coffee drinks can be made with espresso or Turkish style. We tried both. We have tried coffee at several other places within a mile of this place. I'm surprised that I haven't heard of this before. I will agree that this is the best coffee in the neighborhood. The guy behind the counter was professional, but he could have at least cracked a smile to welcome some new customers coming into his shop.

Why did I pay $9.23 for a frozen microwaved breakfast burrito?…read more When I came in, the guy didn't greet me but was busy watching a game on tv.. I looked back at him and ordered. While paying, I heard a microwave door open and he tossed a packaged burrito in the microwave. Sticker and everything. I was shocked, I wouldn't have ordered it if I knew it what it was. I love supporting local businesses, but I hate feeling ripped off..
