Average price but a really nice shop cat! I'm going in today just to see if she's still there and bring her catnip treats. The humans are great too! read more

Great shop on Haight for alcohol. THIS is the place to go if you like tequila or fancy liqueurs. They are extremely knowledgeable and have a fantastic selection of those things, as well as the standards. Really nice people! read more

The Haight has plenty of places that sell alcohol, but not too many that are a true liquor store. Liquid Experience fits that bill and does a good job slinging its wares. LX is small but has a very generous ceiling to floor selection of wine and several refrigerated areas in the back. Beer selection is fairly diverse, meaning you'll be able to find some craft varieties here that most stores in the area will not have. Closer to the front you'll have some liquors for cocktail purposes and behind the counter most of their hard liquor selection. Types are generously represented as a whole, though I think I recall the tequila and whiskey being more so. Given a lot of places in Haight Ashbury close pretty early its also nice that LX has later hours. So not only can you have a pretty good pick of booze but you can do it later in the evening (when it's simultaneously a good and bad idea to keep drinking.) Cheers! read more

I am all the way in Las vegas and have been hunting some age statement japanese whisky. Saw a post on twitter that they just got some in stock. There customer service is great and even put 2 bottles on hold while my sister who lives in san francisco drove there to purchase it. They were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Now I know where to go for some fine spirits. If you have questions, they answer over the phone or by email very quickly. read more

Rude service! I have been coming here for years, but since Farris sold it, the the staff is rude!

Liquid Experience is a clean and well organized store. everything i saw was priced. didn''t look at everything. some high end micros present, 10+ wines, eats, sodas, teas plentiful too. brew: red hook, "audible ale: (1.99) , 12 oz. tax included. -smooth 4.7%, slightly bland, no hoppiness (bitterness). drips: -only metered parking around. read more

Do not go there go to Frank's two blocks up legit I got a 23:58 dollar for a bar of chocolate charge when I tried to correct this I got fobbed off and asked to leave so this business because I caught them I suggest going elsewhere as they have given no compensation for charge. I'd recently tried Don Fulano tequila at Tres Agaves. I asked where I could buy it and the bartender pointed me to Liquid Experience. A couple of days later I walked in to buy a bottle. I chatted with the guy behind the counter and he got down the bottle and sold it to me. I assumed I was getting a reasonably competitive price. He rang it up for an even $90. When I got home and went on the web to check prices. Sure enough, K&L had it for $59. Ouch! A full 50% higher. Shame on me for not checking but shame on them for those prices. So, if you want to find an obscure tequila, this is your place. If you want to pay through the nose, this is your place. read more

A surprisingly great liquor store in the heart of the Haight. They have a surprisingly varied selection of chilled large format craft beers. I was surprised at some of the ciders they offered. The selection of liquors is more than your typical corner store's offerings, as well It does get pricy, but considering that it may be your only option in the area and they're open late, it might be worth it. Not much else to say, other than that it's my top choice in the neighborhood. read more

Great store with friendly employees. They're open even late at night too. Definitely my go to liquor store from now on.

While they do seem to have a good selection of various liquors, my cheap ass can't help but notice that I can get things for less elsewhere. My Moskovskaya vodka, which one of the guys here told me is "the original Stoli", costs $20 at Liquid Experience. Wanna know how much I usually pay for it? $7.99 at Trader Joes. Boo ya! They do earn some points for carrying the new "legal" Absinthes (and they're actually in stock, as of yesterday, not sold out like all the other stores), but again, the price seems a bit higher than at BevMo. When I say "a bit", I mean about $25. Three stars for convenience, selection, and nice employees. read more

Can of Arizona Tea. Can says 99 cents. They actually charged me 99 cents. Awesome! Plus the lady was super friendly. Never has any employee at a "liquor store" ever been friendly. Never. read more

The best neighborhood corner store in the Haight. Ferris, Ramsey, and Dreezy are some of the coolest folks on the block, and they've been holding it down for years. If you go in, tell 'em E.B. said wassup! (Don't expect them to hook you up because of me though. They're just my homies. Lol) read more

They were very mean. No customer service. Absolute a hoo les. Decent selection. Don't know what their problem is. Very mean and threatening and vulgar to paying customers even after apologizing for nothing. read more

The guy who works here at night I'm not sure where he is from but I must say he really brightens my day. He is so nice and gives me recommendations on things to try. I just move to the area and he already knows what I like! read more

I have not found a better liquor store in San Francicso, and I have definitely looked. If you can catch Firras, he will make some solid recommendations, and might be able to bring something out "from storage" just for you. Five stars well earned because: + holy crap Weller 12 was in stock! (bought 2, should have bought all 3) + some selection in the Calvados department; (yes they know what that is) + Firras walked me through an array of Cognacs, and followed up via email + customer relationship building that keeps you coming back I have already told my friends about it, so now you get to know too! read more

Amazing store with different varieties of drinks and snacks. The people working at the store were really friendly as well. Absolutely recommend this store. read more

The hubby likes buying beers here occasionally but it's fairly pricey. Although if you're willing to spend the money, you can find a lot of stuff here when you're in a pinch. Kudos for having a ton, no seriously, A TON, of tequilas. read more

This is a great neighborhood liquor store. The prices are a little more than you might pay at a grocery store, but that is the nature of a liquor store. The staff is ALWAYS friendly, even when big events are happening in the Haight and they may be annoyed or burnt out. They have a great selection of beers and ciders, and carry many different kinds of alcohol. If you are looking for a liquor store in the Haight, this is the one. Right next to Haight and Clayton, it is located fairly central to everything, has reasonable prices for a liquor store, and has the best staff of any I have been in in the area... read more

Honestly, the name sounds a little like a cheesy adult film title, but it's a great store. First, the owner is incredibly nice and knowledgeable. Second, the scope and quality of their selection is fantastic. This is not your average corner liquor store. I know, I know. It's right on Haight...in the middle of tourist town. Trust me: it's one of my favorite liquor stores. This is how I knew it was a great place: Spanish marinated cherries; grapefruit bitters; elderflower liqueur. They've got the details down because they've got the big picture items down. Since I'm a gin girl, I've taken particular note of their gin selection and I'm extremely happy. In all honesty, I haven't done a ton of price comparison between them and other places, but since I live in the neighborhood, it's my go to spot for quality liquor or accoutrement. read more

Carries an increasingly good variety of ciders, both domestic and English, including Tieton, Westons Vintage, Hogans Perry and Ross on Wye traditional farmhouse still cider. Will hopefully carry Sutton Cellars' Sonoma Cider soon. Also has a full range of Fentiman's natural brewed sodas and many hard to find European ales and lagers. read more

Great selection. Expensive. Convenient. Knowledgeable staff. Open on holidays. These guys have been providing for my spiritual needs for the past 6 years. read more

It may not appear that different that any other liquor store in the Upper Haight from the exterior but this gem has a great select of tequila, scotch and bourbon/whiskey. Mileage may very on your visit but if you get the store's main manager/owner you'll be in for a treat. His knowledge and recommendations are top notch. Prices are fair give the current bourbon boom. I tend to browse a lot and I've never been pressured to buy or hurried along. My only regret is not finding this place sooner. read more

Super good beer selection! Can't speak on behalf of the liquor/wine selection because I'm always just in here picking up 6 packs, but it looks extensive. Once they gave me a free lighter because they couldn't find the matches, so that was cool.. thanks! Friendly peeps working in here, and open late. Bonus. read more

Believe it or not, an outstanding wine selection. You can get excellent california wines for a very decent price, just look on the lower shelves. The stock is continually rotating though, so I often find a bottle I love, go back, and it is gone. And they're open late past 10! read more

This is the best liquor store in San Francisco. The reason is because they have more fine tequilas in house than anyone else in town. These guys REALLY know what's up when it comes to tequila. I've been coming here for 5+ years getting suggestions for gifts and myself and I always walk away with dynamite in a bottle. MAD respect to these gentlemen. They do it up right. When you need REAL tequila, this is your place. read more

Great selection, but for a price. Came here for New Belgium's Tart Lychee release awhile back, but sadly everyone else beat me to it. Apparently, following them on twitter is key to snagging such highly coveted releases. Picked up some unique wine called "Sexual Chocolate"

They always have whatever I'm looking for and whenever I buy munchies, the food is never expired. Prices can be a little expensive though. Also I hate being harassed out front by homeless kids fresh out of high school, but that's what you get in the Upper Haight. read more

All I gotta say is WOW! They have over 600 different tequilas alone. You are not reading that incorrectly. I saw about half that on the shelves and was absolutely blown away by the sheer variety of one of my favorite spirits. I went in for a bottle of something decent for a friend's birthday. When asking for the Jose Cuervo Reserva de Familia, the response I got was something I never considered "What year?" What year? You mean I can choose? I'll take the oldest one you have then. Pricey but special. I can't wait to go back so I can stock the bar at home. read more

Amazing. We live in Los Angeles and have friends staying at Koret Family House while their 10 year-old son undergoes chemotherapy at UCSF. Tonight we found out that our friends are celebrating their anniversary. We decided to have a bottle (or two) of liquor delivered and googled. We called 16 liquor stores in the area, all who were too busy to help out, including Golden Bears market, who asked that we call back in ten minutes, promising to help out. What a waste of time with Golden Bears- Sam the owner said "we don't do favors"... Finally, about to give up, we called number 17 on the list, Liquid Experience. Randy answered, appreciated the unique situation, and kindly asked us to call back, so he could get the OK from his boss. The Boss approved! The order was delivered 20 minutes later. Please go out of your way to only do business with this store. They are good people that have a heart. read more

I went to 9 different liquor stores in the Haight, lower Haight and Castro area, even the currently # 1 rated one a block up, looking for a very specific Amaro, the gloriously dank Fernet Angelico, to no avail. In a last ditch effort I stopped by the liquid experience on my way home, feeling very dejected. Not only did they have it, they had a hhuuuuuuuge Amaro selection and a kickass mescaline selection. This place definitely deserves to be #1 in the area. It not easy to source that kind of stuff and they clearly go out of there way to do it. They have a new patron in me read more

This place used to be my local liquor store. I now live in the Mission, but I still drive over there to buy spirits....they have a great selection. My current favorite is: Obsello Absinthe from Spain. This is the real deal. The best Absinthe I have had! It has an eu de vie base and it's just delicious and very well made. Highly recommend! read more

don't be fooled by the 40s-and-blunts interior -- this is a store that can satisfy even the most discriminating alcohol connoisseur. i dare say it's worth stopping in even during daylight hours and even if you normally stomp in some other district. Liquid is "just like any other corner store" if your corner store has over 250 tequilas and an excellent selection of single malt scotch, imported rum and snappy gin. also replete with fine liqueurs, brandies, cognacs and some solid wine selections. as rums go, personally i prefer Barbancourt 5 star, but this review isn't about me. whatever your tastes, Liquid Experience will be happy to provide for them. read more
