A HUGE pour of wine (no measurement yay!!) was only a little more than a fiver- I'm used to the same price for half that glass in London! The bartender was helpful and cheerful and the music was not too loud to block out convo. After pregaming we went to Soho Rooms next door to dance for a few hours and then came back for another round at The Vineyard as it was playing Latin music (yes!!) and there was some dancing. No cover either time. We left after a while but had such a good time.

Srsly, it's like walking into the set of some fucking Hollywood epic or some shit. When you walk in - you half expect to see Peter O' Toole as Lawrence of Arabia leaning over the grandiose urinals holding his errrr - bottle of Duvel. It's definitely some experience. Hennyway. Apart from the toilets, and not exactly having a massive variety of beers to choose from, aswell as the place being small, and being prone to fill up EXTREMELY quickly. This place has a wonderful charm, which it would be fantastic if half of the overly pretentious Newcastle bars could replicate. Highly recommended. Four stars.

Dacantus - His and Hers Gin & Slim Tonics - his with grapefruit and hers with juniper berries, very tasty.

Out of curiosity... I made a note to look up the meaning of Dacantus (this is a Spanish place, only one person working here (the bartender when we arrived) isn't Spanish) - the closest I could get was "wine aerator" but I think that's because there's a wine aerator branded Decantus. We'd never seen Beefeater 24, so hubs ordered one with grapefruit and cardamon garnish and Fever Tree Light Tonic £6.50. When hubs tasted this, he said "wow" very softly and his eyes lit up. I had Bombay Sapphire with juniper berries and lemon peel and Slim Schweppes Tonic £5.95. They really twisted those peels to get as much aromatic oil out of them as possible (and they did it with two sets of tongs, not their bare fingers). The cardamon was a ground spice. The ice was very large - less dilution of the cocktails. I liked the juniper berries quite a bit. We were offered an aperitif to accompany our gin & tonics, chicken in a mustard sauce, quite tasty. Then we ordered the pork cubes. Not at all what we expected! It was a larger portion and the food was universally delicious! We'll be back in summer of 2016!

Similar to Mr Lynch in that it has a great atmosphere and the decor is a mish mash of colours where vintage meets modern! Although it does attract the students....if you're not don't let this put you off as it can be nice and quiet during the week. The food is fantastic and excellent value for money. They also have daily happy hours on drinks as well as 2 cocktails for £5 on a Monday night!! The staff aren't always the quickest or the friendliest but can't fault the drinks. I've been to the quiz a couple of times which is on a Tuesday and Thursday night. Really good fun.....the most random questions I've ever come across mind!! we had a whole round related to cats and dogs so an example question was 'which breed of dogs have black tongues?' The only frustrating thing is that the quiz master doesn't read out the answers which is normally the fun part of the quiz when you laugh at your own inaccuracies!! Perhaps the only reason why Nancy's gets a 4 instead of a 5! If you're ever towards Manors direction this bar is worth a visit!!

My friends and I bought a bottle of vodka and it was very reasonably priced. The decor is lovely. Inside the bar looks like the outside with trees and cool furniture. Staff are good conversations!
