My husband and I went here twice in a Saturday night we liked it so much! First we went earlier in…read morethe night, around 10:30pm, where it was crowded but not overwhelming so. A HUGE pour of wine (no measurement yay!!) was only a little more than a fiver- I'm used to the same price for half that glass in London! The bartender was helpful and cheerful and the music was not too loud to block out convo. After pregaming we went to Soho Rooms next door to dance for a few hours and then came back for another round at The Vineyard as it was playing Latin music (yes!!) and there was some dancing. No cover either time. We left after a while but had such a good time.

My friend Butcher introduced me to The Vineyard four or five years ago - and rather than being…read moremesmorised by the selection of beers (Duvel). I was mesmorised by the fucking toilets. Srsly, it's like walking into the set of some fucking Hollywood epic or some shit. When you walk in - you half expect to see Peter O' Toole as Lawrence of Arabia leaning over the grandiose urinals holding his errrr - bottle of Duvel. It's definitely some experience. Hennyway. Apart from the toilets, and not exactly having a massive variety of beers to choose from, aswell as the place being small, and being prone to fill up EXTREMELY quickly. This place has a wonderful charm, which it would be fantastic if half of the overly pretentious Newcastle bars could replicate. Highly recommended. Four stars.

Similar to Mr Lynch in that it has a great atmosphere and the decor is a mish mash of colours where vintage meets modern! Although it does attract the students....if you're not don't let this put you off as it can be nice and quiet during the week. The food is fantastic and excellent value for money. They also have daily happy hours on drinks as well as 2 cocktails for £5 on a Monday night!! The staff aren't always the quickest or the friendliest but can't fault the drinks. I've been to the quiz a couple of times which is on a Tuesday and Thursday night. Really good fun.....the most random questions I've ever come across mind!! we had a whole round related to cats and dogs so an example question was 'which breed of dogs have black tongues?' The only frustrating thing is that the quiz master doesn't read out the answers which is normally the fun part of the quiz when you laugh at your own inaccuracies!! Perhaps the only reason why Nancy's gets a 4 instead of a 5! If you're ever towards Manors direction this bar is worth a visit!!

My friends and I bought a bottle of vodka and it was very reasonably priced. The decor is lovely. Inside the bar looks like the outside with trees and cool furniture. Staff are good conversations!

The Botanist was an excellent find when we stayed the night in downtown Newcastle. Located on Monument Mall, you have to up three flights of stairs or take the lift (elevator) to reach the main bar and lounge that has a strong botanical garden theme that is quite beautiful, especially with the location being under a dome. The dome is gorgeous and really enhances the botanical garden and atrium effect. The cocktails are very good as well. I ordered a buttered coconut old fashioned that was quite rich and creamy, but very satisfying with the toasted coconut and butter-washed Makers Mark bourbon with homemade salted honey syrup. My wife enjoyed her Botanist Ultimate Gin & Tonic as we took a table with these plushy lounge chairs. The bartender was fantastic and friendly in making us the cocktails. Really nice guy who made us feel at home. Additionally, they have a rooftop balcony to enjoy the drinks; however, on this evening, it was windy and cold (at least for us Floridians) to where we decided to stay warmer inside. But we would return in a heartbeat.
