The winery is changing the vibe of this neighborhood for the better. Majority of the neighbors love it here and the winery is creating jobs for people in the immediate area, which is needed and wonderful. They source their hybrid vines which are grafted, from Cornell University grapes. Their wines have great names such as Swoon, Sassy, or Crimson! All the wine is cold pressed and made on site. They quark all their wine and make about 5,000 bottles per year. Mansfield Frazier is the owner with his lovely wife Brenda. They personally run the joint and take great care of their costumers and wine. I was here for a 20+ person event with the Cornell Alumni Club and they did a fabulous job accommodating everyone! There is plenty of parking and space to walk around outside. There is a bit of seating inside and very knowledgeable staff around to talk about their products. Their hours of operation vary so you should call the number on the door and the owner could possibly be there in minutes. 216-438-0964 They do not have snacks for sale at the moment, but you are welcome to bring your own to eat inside. FYI - In the future they would love to take down the old abandon building, which was once a church next door and grow the wine making facility with a gift shop, market and better space to host more costumers. If interested in supporting this new Cleveland biz - come visit!

Pour Wine + Gifts is a touch of sophistication in the picturesque Cedar Fairmount neighborhood in…read moreCleveland Heights. It's a recent addition to the local business landscape. I finally experienced this wine boutique during the Music Hop Festival. ASSORTMENT: The shop impresses with its extensive global collection of wines and spirits (over 500 wines). You'll find anything from the mundane Aperol to the trending Veuve Clicquot to the classic Dom Perignon. Beyond the wine, you'll discover interesting foods - wine spreads, locally acclaimed POP mustard, local Heights Mitchell's Chocolate, pasta, oils, and more. There is a rich gift assortment suitable for any occasion - erode soaps, bookish trays, adorable wine beanies, soap tubs, greeting cards, and beyond. You'll find really expensive and extremely reasonably priced wines co-existing in a single space. Wine connoisseurs might be impressed by "The Impossible Collection of Wine" for $1,400 that features the most exquisite vintages (with original labels) from around the world. Interestingly, some of the wine labels circa 1920s are as old as the neighborhood where this shop resides. BOUTIQUE: The boutique is in a historical Heights Rockefeller Building surrounded by local dining destinations. The boutique is charming - wooden detail, chandeliers, and strategic spotlights. The store display is always beautifully designed. The store contains a retail area, and a small bar with bar stools. During my visit there was wine tasting for $15 with options to try 3 pours. I tried Aperol (with prosecco). Seemed like a great value. There were also complimentary appetizers. A Glass of Vino (string trio) were playing right outside the shop. SERVICE: The owner and sommelier have extensive experience in the wine industry and provide wine consultation. They were reasonably friendly. I genuinely felt subtle imperious reactions. It's somewhat atypical for the city's culture but maybe that's just wine culture. Perhaps that would be different if I was a regular. Parking: Small parking lot is available behind the building. Street parking is available during busy times. Pour is an interesting concept in the city. It's the most sophistication and extensive collection of wine. It's a perfect destination if you visit the restaurants in the area or are shopping for a gift.

They have lights and signage to let you know you're at the right house. They even have a small vineyard growing in the backyard.. Upon entering the door to the winery, you will find yourself in a stairwell with stairs going down to the basement. Once you're in the basement you will immediately forget you are in a basement. It is quite a spacious and comfortable area with lots of tables and couches, a fireplace, a bar, and a bathroom. There's even a section where they make the wine in steel barrels. It's very cozy, charming, friendly and clean. The host/owners are extremely friendly. It seems that the owner's family is from Northern Italy and we enjoyed talking to them. The Wine itself far exceeded my expectations. We tasted three reds plus the Chardonnay, and we enjoyed all of it. The blueprint red blend was my favorite followed by the Chardonnay. I'm a bit of a Wine snob and I typically don't like Ohio wine. However, I was pleasantly surprised...okay...if we're being honest...actually shocked...that all the wine we tasted was excellent. I will definitely be telling all my friends and family about La Famiglia winery!

The larger the group, the cheaper your own total will be! Your Wine Cellar is hidden inside of Brew Kettle and Top Golf in Strongsville, nearby Walmart. Don't be fooled by the outdated Google Images of a place with its own sign - it no longer is labeled clearly. Meg was our host and director of our wine making adventure. She was great! We went through a dozen or so rounds of wine tastings to decide, as a group, what we will make. Each sample is $1 and I only tried a few, sticking mostly to the fruity ones. I liked the California Moscato the best of the whites. I only tried one red, the Diablo. The Diablo was the one we ended up making. The making process took about 10 minutes. We also were able to order food from the Brew Kettle. The food I ordered for lunch will be part of the review I wrote for Brew Kettle, which will be published soon after this one. Overall, I had a fun time with my friends, learning about what kinds of wines we like and don't like. In 8 weeks, we are coming back to bottle and label our wines! The entire process ended up being $20-25 a person.

Bingo was fun and appropriately priced (this was their third bingo event ever), the decor was decked out in a retro 1980s Miami theme, and I LOVED the special menu they developed for us! Now let's talk about the food and drinks! Like I said, there was a special menu (see included picture) but we could order from the regular menu as well. I ordered a caramel iced cold brew ($4 and so sweet and refreshing!) and their fig jam and goat cheese flatbread ($14). I will be dreaming of that flatbread for a while, it was that good! You can tell Meraki Market really knows their cheese and meats!
