I cannot say enough good things about this place. Prices and location are good. Now, about the…read moreclass: Leon is a world-class instructor--patient, knowledgeable, and passionate about pottery. I came in as a complete beginner, and thanks to his expert teaching, I learned to center, throw, trim, glaze, and finish my pieces with confidence and joy. The class environment is incredibly supportive and inspiring. Whether you're a first-timer or looking to refine your skills, you'll feel right at home here. One of the best parts? The pricing is amazing, and it even includes all the glazes--such a great value! The open studio hours are a huge bonus. They gave me the freedom to practice outside of class time and really hone my craft at my own pace. I'm already signed up for more sessions and genuinely look forward to each visit. Hands down one of the best learning experiences I've ever had!

I'm remembered like a friend, treated like family and never once made to feel like I didn't know what I was doing (I really didn't and still probably don't)... instead they help, teach, suggest and guide in the best way possible. Every time feels like a kid in a candy store and I'm always given direction towards whatever flavor I want. They even indulged my desires to make custom glaze and mixed my recipe for me to take home as dry in all the right proportions. Prices are the best I've found anywhere. I quickly found out I was paying 2-3x too much buying on Amazon. No shock there. Love local! If you're looking for the best place for all things pottery in driving distance to south Charlotte, The Clay Connection is it! From the moment you walk in, you're welcomed like family. The service here is beyond exceptional--everyone is knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely passionate about what they do. Hollywood Heroes & Villains - Lots of t-shirts and even more pop toys

This is a perfect store if you're a fanboy/girl. A practically endless supply of t-shirts, hats,…read moresocks, wallets, jewelry, keychains, banners, posters, figurines, fidget spinners, phone holders, board games, stickers, etc. I couldn't even name everything in one review. All of this is plastered with characters, emblems and themes from your favorite sci-fi, fantasy or comic book. Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, Star Trek, Transformers, Marvel, DC, Pokemon, Zelda, Mario, Nintendo in general, Spiderman, Batman, Superman, any man or woman really, Attack on Titan and other anime too. I didn't end up buying anything - this stuff just isn't my jam anymore. But throw me in this store 10-15 years ago and I'd be in heaven. I can't speak to pricing but there was only one shop keeper there at the time I was in and she wasn't engaging or interested in talking. They should really do more to get their name out there! I'm sure it could be a popular shop.

They have no phone number on their Yelp listing and their web page has no phone number. The URL link points me to a shop in New Jersey. I fear that Hollywood Heroes & Villains at Carolina Place is gone. If someone spots it, let me know where it is in the mall and I'll update. [Review 9974 overall, 1554 of 2018.]

Ritu Selects

I am writing this review on behalf of 2 friends and on behalf of my very limited interaction with…read moreRitu. First of all, she has no sense of professionalism and is very rude and doesn't seem like a great person. Ritu left chalk marks on outfits for a bride, for their family members, and the quality of her fabric is very cheap for the prices she charges. Trust me, you can get much better quality, designs, fitting, and style from someone else. It is simple to find someone in India who can make custom outfits versus deal with Ritu. Ritu did not deliver clothing in a timely manner, which causes IMMENSE stress for my friend and her family members because her wedding was the next day. Imagine, not having a certain piece of your wedding outfit the day before your wedding, how stressful!!! If I could give her 0 stars, I would. Sizing. Ritu claimed she measured correctly however all outfits were too tight or too loose for these 2 friends. She blamed it on the client saying they lost weight or gained weight. How insensitive. Overall, I don't want this review to get too long but I would NOT use her, you are better off buying clothing online from places such as Kalki fashion or finding a tailor in India. DO NOT make the mistake of using Ritu Selects. She is overpriced and an awful person. The "excellent" reviews are probably friends and family writing reviews for her. DO NOT use Ritu Selects

I have never in my life worked with a business owner who has been more problematic than Ritu. After…read moretaking payment for my family's blouses up front, before she had produced any work, she proceeded to completely mess up my order. She charged us a crazy amount for the saree blouses. A Ready-made blouse in her store is about $50 I believe. She charged us minimum $90 per blouse. We commissioned two blouses from her. Now we bought the sarees online, and brought her the blouse material to be made. She was very angry that we did not buy the sarees from her and proceeded to insult the sarees that we had chosen saying that it was cheap material. This first reaction should have been enough of a clue for us to not do any business with her. The blouses had to be redone three times and finally taken to a completely different seamstress in order to be wearable. For my 17 year old sister she created a see-through back for a blouse which showed off her bra. This was after Ritu was told that this outfit was for a 17 year old girl who comes from a Conservative Christian background. I do not understand why she made see through clothing for a child, after she was specifically told that we did not want any see through clothing. After we told Rita our concerns she brushed It Off and told us that we were actually wrong. She told us that she was a designer and that she knew best. We attempted to work with her several more times without getting the results that we needed. And honestly her designs were ugly and not color matching to the sarees that we had given her. After I couldn't take it anymore I had several words with her in the store. It was a heated exchange. Instead of being a professional business owner she decided to contact my mother telling her that I had acted inappropriately at her store. I am a grown woman and I do not need to have a business owner contact my mommy for my behavior. I do not know of any respectable business owner who has ever done that. On top of that, in a subsequent phone call that was also extremely heated, her husband got on the phone and begin to tell me off. She also claimed that I could not say anything to her because I was younger to her. Well honey I have some news for you, welcome to doing business in America. It does not matter that I am younger to you. What matters is that you charged me an insane amount of money to make ugly, unwearable blouses. Almost $200 for two blouses. And instead of listening to what the customer wanted you insisted that you were right. You did not provide the customer with what you promised for almost $200. I have never in my life worked with a business owner who has been so incredibly unprofessional, condescending, disrespectful, rude, arrogant, prideful, and difficult. There is much much more to the sto hiry but this is all I can type. I would never encourage any person in Charlotte to conduct any sort of business with Ritu. She did refund all of our money. But that doesn't change the stress that she put us through. We also had to find a second seamstress very quickly and pay her a rush fee in order to make the clothes wearable for our function. The function was for my engagement ceremony, the blouse was for my sister and my mother. In response to the owners rebuttal: your workmanship was still shoddy and unacceptable. The blouse was beginning to tear after one use and it simply didn't even match the saree or what we asked for multiple times. A see through back for a minor child is unacceptable. I used bad language yes, and I don't regret it because you are impossible to work with. Anyone who wants to do business with this woman, go ahead, but don't say I didn't warn you first. We also have the entire exchange recorded as well as the phone conversation where her husband yelled at me.
