They are squeezed into every square inch of the shop. They hang on close racks, rods along the wall, and even at the very top of the ceiling. After mustering up all of my patience and snapping myself out of shock, I began my diligent hunt. There are a few passive aggressive notes printed and taped on the rods. I note that one says, "only try on a dress if it is absolutely necessary." While I realize that this seems strange at the time, I continue to look. The dresses were so jam packed together that it took true physical and mental strength to take a look at each dress. I finally settle on two to try on. I was going to escort myself to a dressing room, but there is yet another sign stating that you must first ask permission to try on a dress. I oblige with that, and the shop owner comes over and takes my dresses. While she is franctically removing the plastic I notice a small sign peering out from behind a dress on the wall. It reads, "Try on fees" and listed that dresses under $99 dollars had $5 fee, dress $99-$200 dollars had a higher fee, and so on. Didn't try on any dresses if you're wondering. Overall, not a great experience.

I was told their calendar had not gone live yet, so another bride was there at the same time and I waited over an hour. I still moved forward because Samantha assured me I would have the perfect dress and that if anything went wrong she would personally make it right. I bought my dress 9 months in advance, paid in full and attended every fitting. The first dress I received was incorrect and not what I asked for. I was not told about the factory mistake. I was then pushed to order a second gown, which arrived late and was still too large. I was promised a sketch of the original design that never came. I was told alterations and the veil were included, yet the veil I received did not match the gown. And I never received a veil for the first gown. The alterations I did receive were visibly substandard. There were holes in the fabric and pink stitching on white lace. Another seamstress who did my emergency alterations described the prior work as something a child could have done better. By July 4, just days before my wedding, the gown was still unfinished. Samantha cited a broken AC, and I had to send my mother to pick up the dress while I scrambled to arrange last minute alterations. Through all of this, Samantha continued taking on new clients and told me she had to "move on." I spent my 30th birthday trying to fix problems created by this shop instead of enjoying the days before my wedding. Thankfully, "Veronika's Secrets" fixed my dress before our special day. Veronika was wonderful. This was supposed to be a joyful time. It became a crisis. I cannot recommend this boutique to any bride.
