5 stars for quality of paint & painting. 1 star for how some items in my HOME were treated; blinds and drapes. 2 stars for how my grievances were answered by the owner. 1 star for how I was talked to by Mike. It was an expensive project $$$$$. Kaye :( At present. I can't recommend. read more

After seeing the excellent paint job done on my neighbor's house, I contacted Mike this past spring. He spent about an hour with my wife and I while we toured the outside of our house, offered suggestions on paint schemes, and ultimately gave us an idea of the quantity of supplies, primer, and paint would be needed, along with a "low to high" cost estimate. He doesn't produce a nice glossy report with a warranty like other companies. However he obviously "knows his stuff", and we decided to proceed with him even though the low end of his estimate was more than a couple of other competitors including a Denver business that regularly canvasses Loveland. His crew was excellent. They prepped the house for 4 or 5 days to wash, sand, and spot prime bare spots (PLUS the undersides of all siding boards...not just the bottom 4 feet or so). Then the crew completely primed the exterior (the primer was tinted, not white), applied a thick coat of paint, followed by trim and exterior doors. Mike regularly visited the job site for suggestions for the crew for touch ups. They were steady, polite, hard workers, and cleaned up every night. Ultimately after 6 straight days of work with one weather interruption, the job was done, billed out at the low estimate he had previously given us. I highly recommend him and his crews for anyone looking to have a quality paint job done. read more

Mike and his crew are very professional and detail- oriented. Mike educated us on what a quality paint job should entail and he made helpful suggestions. We'll never trust anyone else with our home. This company is honest, hard-working and takes pride in their work. Highly recommend! read more

The absolute worst painter I have ever used. Repainting the whole house because they barely put any paint on the walls. The owner is an arrogant jerk too. Screaming and acting immature when he is confronted with his crappy work. * Absolutely had work done by them. He's trying to bully us just like he did when he had people painting and we weren't happy. So yeah Mike, I'm not responding to you anymore. What a relief! read more

Summary: Mike from Windsor painting does high quality work at a very competitive price, and has a professional team working with him. The details: - How did we find Mike? A friend who apparently is very picky had Mike pain their house and they felt comfortable recommending Mike since he met their high standards for quality. - How did we first contact Mike. As some reviews have mentioned, Mike does primarily communicate by text. I find that useful because everything is in "writing" and Mike honors what he writes. As some have also said, Mike is busy and while you may not get a response immediately after you press send, you will get a response in a timely manner where nothing is rushed or there are no miscommunications. - What did we have done? We have a new condo and the builder actually painted the walls AND the ceiling the same color! The builder paint job was horrible, we surmised that they probably didn't even prime the drywall and sprayed the absolute thinnest coat they could get away with. So we had Mike come in to paint all the ceilings and three bedroom walls of a 1500 sq ft condo. - Mike's expertise. Another reviewer mentioned that Mike know more than the average person needs to know about paint. Ok, true, but he was the one that told me I needed a different finish (eggshell and not flat) on the bathroom ceilings. There was also spot in our bedroom where I applied a rather large area of test paint of a different color and then I painted over it with the builder paint. This matters because if Mike didn't know how to cover it properly my very large square would "show" after being painted because there were two extra layers of paint that I applied. Mike showed his team how to paint over that area where the test spot I did is almost invisible. - Mike and his team's process. Since we had all ceilings and three bedrooms to do the first day Mike showed up he had an army of people with him. It was Mike and three others. Like an orchestra conductor Mike directed everyone so no one had slack time. One guy is taking everything (lights, vents, switch plates etc.) off the walls and ceiling, another set of guys are moving furniture, another set are taping off the walls and dropping plastic to prep. I was impressed that within an hour or less, Mike was already starting to spray the living room, kitchen, and dining room ceiling. They repeated that process for the rest of the house and by the end of the first day all ceilings and two bathroom ceilings were painted. On the second day they started to tackle the bedrooms and would have finished three bedrooms on the second day but due to some emergencies that caused one of his team members to run a little late they finished up the next morning. I mention this because things come up in a business and Mike made sure that finishing my house was a priority and finished my house. He actually said in the beginning that this whole job was 2-3 days and it was done in 2 and a half days with the unforeseen events. - Mike and his team's work. After working with Mike, I would use one word to describe him and his crew - METICULOUS. Mike and his team see everything and nothing gets left unaddressed. In the end, all lines are straight, and there is no paint bleeding from wall to ceiling or vice versa. Sure some bleeding happens in the process but Mike and his crew go through at the end and touch up everything. All the walls were rolled perfectly and the ceiling paint was perfect. - Mike's Team. Mike and his team are all very professional, personable, and respectful. As I pointed things out throughout the job, they all listened and either explained things or just did what I requested without any attitude or making me feel like I was asking for something unreasonable. - Mike's Integrity. During the process of taping off the walls, there was a very small accident and something got damaged. When I mentioned it to Mike he took accountability and made good on the damage. - Mike's pricing. We had three people come and quote and Mike was very price competitive and certainly gave a more detailed quote breakdown than any of the other two. He basically quotes based on man hours. So it doesn't matter to you whether there is one person or ten doing the work. Do we recommend Mike from Windsor Painting? ABSOLUTELY. In fact, before they left we decided to have the walls of two of our bathrooms painted since we had a little extra paint and we are trying to schedule Mike to come out. Disclaimer: Up until 3 days ago, I have never met Mike before. I am not related to him nor associated with him or anyone on his team in any way. This is a true and honest review and I am receiving nothing from Mike to write this review. My motivation is to help you get information and to also support small independently owned local businesses. read more

Mike and Andrew did a great job. We contracted Windsor painting to repaint and accent wall and it looks amazing. The paint job looks so nice the other walls look bad in comparison. Good price and excellent quality. read more

We just had Mike and his crew paint the exterior of our home. As a professional engineer for 40 years, I am well used to dealing with contractors and I have to say that Windsor Painting FAR exceeded my expectations. These guys are the real deal. Mike has been in the painting business for over 35 years and takes inordinate pride in the quality of his work. Unlike most of the other painting contractors that you'll undoubtedly evaluate, Mike's crew are not day laborers or a crew he picked up at the paint store that morning. His crew chief for our job has worked for him for 13 years and similarly takes extraordinary pride in his work. The crew spent an entire first day preparing our home. This included caulking EVERY seam, vertical and horizontal, setting and then caulking EVERY popped siding nail, re-securing any warped siding boards, meticulously sanding the bottom edges of our siding. The second day began with completely priming the entire exterior of our home. Let me say right here that the key to a long lasting paint job is in the preparation. Do you want a job that will last 7 or 8 or more years or do you want to do this every 3 or 4 years - PREPARATION! Later that afternoon and the third day, the finish coat was applied. Every edge and seam was just razor sharp. The last hour and a half, the crew chief meticulously examined every inch of the finished job touching up where needed until he was satisfied. While he was doing this, his crew removed every scrap of masking and debris and left our home spotless! Needless to say, we are ABSOLUTELY DELIGHTED with the results and many of our neighbors have stopped by to compliment the looks of our "new home". We could not be happier. read more

Fantastic job. I highly recommend them. They were respectful and their attention to detail is great.

We just had Windsor Painting do 5 days worth of painting in our house and they did amazing!!!! Every single employee was super nice and they all did a great job. They showed up when they said they were going to and worked a full day, finishing the job when expected. We had ceilings, railings, dining, master, master bath and cabinets painted. I was super impressed with every step of the process!!!! read more

Mike and his crew did a great job painting the interior of our home. Although, there were a few areas where the painters tape ruined existing paint and this has left us with repairs. Mike promised that he would take care of the work, but after more than two month of texts, I've given up and we will do the repairs ourselves. In hindsight, I should have held back on the final payment until the repairs were made. Mike is always extremely busy and will tell you more about paint than you need to know. Would I recommend them again? Yes, but with the understanding that you need some patience working with Mike and don't pay until all repairs are completed. read more

Mike and his crew did an amazing job on our interior painting. They not only painted our interior walls but painted the cabinets and all doors as well. We had them frame out the windows and added new baseboards. Their quality of work shows immediately as you enter our house. We would definitely recommend them to family and friends. read more

After a confusing round of texts (no phone call), we set a day and said they would come in the morning. Waited until 2:00 and no one texted or called. I then texted them to let them know I am going with someone else. He apologized with an excuse. It seems like they only work via text. read more

Had a appointment for painting my bedroom. Mike cancelled on me at the last minute (as I was walking out the door!) and then never tried to reschedule. But I am very glad he did that -- proved that I could actually paint my own bedroom. And later in the year when I want to get my whole house painted, I will hire a professional instead of an irresponsible jackass. Thank you very much. read more

I delayed getting a quote for 2 additional weeks due to Mike's busy schedule. While I was trying to wrap things up to make a decision. I opted to wait until meeting Mike. I had blocked off a 2-hour span of time at his request. He never showed up, and he never demonstrated the courtesy of a phone call. I waited all afternoon. The next day, I left 2 messages, and he never returned my call. read more

This is the second time Windsor Painting has painted at our house--certainly not the last. They are efficient, super neat and do a really nice job. Mike saved the day for us. I sent a request for an estimate via this site, three days later, still no response. Don't think this is the way to request...

I can't speak highly enough about Mike, his crew, and the meticulous, beautiful job they did on our exterior paint job. I started my search toward the end of April asking for recommendations on my Next Door app. I looked up several of the companies that were mentioned, but paid special attention to several things Mike said in the "About Us" section of his webpage. Those things were important to me. Especially that he doesn't use day workers. Nothing against that for other jobs. But not with something as costly as painting my house! He has painters who have been with him for many years and know his demanding standards. I watched a house down the street get partially painted a few days ago and was shocked at their poor prep, throwing trash all over the yard as they were working, some ended up at their neighbors, and what appeared to be horsing around a bit while working. Mike's team was respectful toward my property, easy to communicate with, explained the process, very professional at their job and I couldn't be happier. It did take me a few times of calling in the beginning because he is SO busy. I know I could have had a cheaper cost with another company, however his attention to detail and passion for and pride in his work gave me confidence he would do the job right the first time and because he doesn't sub out the work and only uses painters he knows and trains, and he won't take on more than he can get done. I am so glad I was persistent and he was the one to do the job. Once he committed to the job, there was never a question I had that he did not answer in a timely way. I recommend Windsor Painting to anyone who needs their house painted! read more

I called Windsor Painting for some work, we set up an appointment for a estimate. The estimate was rescheduled 3 times at the last minute, or 30 minutes to a hour after the appointment. I am a repeat customer. Mike and his fantastic crew painted our house inside and out when we lived in Loveland and did the same to our house when we moved to Fort Collins. Mike is responsive, professional, and is very knowledgeable about color choices. Not sure why anybody would choose anybody else. Best painter on Colorado. read more

Windsor Painting came highly recommended to us as we looked for a company to paint our 10 year old home. Mike, Windsor Painting owner, spent a considerable amount of time listening to our needs (some needs exceeded what painting crews typically do), making much-appreciated suggestions, and following up with a detailed, competitive price quote. His contract proposal included carefully-addressed issues throughout out the entire process that when followed would lead to a five-star job at completion. Not only were we impressed with his professional, expert suggestions but amazed to learn early on that the job would be completed in advance of the promised completion date. From the dismantling of gutters, light fixtures, and other hardware to the caulking and power-washing pre-painting preparations, we were awed by what little we had to do ourselves prior to seeing the primer coat carefully applied. I assumed that I would be left with many little chores necessary for a completed job only to find in less than a week every single screw, brick, window well cover, and exterior home fixture was returned to its rightful place with the utmost precision. In 40 years of having work done on a number of homes that I have owned, I have never seen a job more expertly and efficiently completed to my satisfaction! Mike has by far put together an exceptional team of polite, hard-working, and conscientious painters. We were continually kept apprised of all phases of the job and so appreciated the crew's above-and-beyond-the-call-of-duty work ethic. Without hesitation, they volunteered to dismantle a rotting window ledge on the second story and perform additional scraping and sanding of our large deck, two challenging tasks I would have had to spend weeks completing myself. In addition, they continually checked with us for what we wanted done related to smaller areas where color and style options were applicable. As one can guess, this home now pops on our street! We have a paint job far superior to the one ten years ago when our home was built and have no doubt that we received all and more than we had expected for our money! Both my wife and I could not recommend Windsor Painting with greater confidence. If you want the best materials used, the most expert strategies for a long-lasting paint finish, and a prompt and perfect job, Windsor Painting should be your paint company of choice. Mike and his crew surpassed our highest expectations and have earned without doubt our five-star rating! Stan and Elizabeth Johnston read more

Mike and his team were nothing short of incredible. We relocated to Colorado from south Florida and began talking to mike almost a month before the move. He was so incredibly helpful and just above and beyond in every way. He and his team went to our house and got started before we even moved in. He helped us select colors and use different shades in different rooms- we truly could not be happier with the results and can't wait to do the exterior, basement and kitchen cabinets with them! I contacted Windsor Painting for a quote on the family room in my basement, however we decided to paint the entire basement. The room was very dark and uninviting; Mike recommended some colors that work well in rooms that have no natural lighting. Mike and his associate are very thorough and knowledgeable. They recaulked around all the molding creating seamless edges. After the job was complete, the clean up was minimal. The paint looks great! read more
