First, I agree with all the other reviews. Kevin was very friendly and responded promptly to my…read morerequest for service and honored my request for weekend service. Payment was easy and he also provided photos of the work. (I hadn't seen my panels since they were installed in 2021.) What's even more amazing though is the dramatic improvement of power generation. I had never had my panels cleaned before because I didn't really think it was that important, but now I'm kicking myself because I was basically giving money to PGE. My panels were definitely pretty dirty, but after Kevin cleaned them, I immediately saw an increase of 5kWh per day! Wow. As a matter of fact (and I'm not sure how this is possible exactly), my panels are producing more than when they were first installed! I went all the way back and looked at the data for my system during it's first summer (2022) and compared it to the first 9 days of this summer. I'm hitting 60kWh per day, and I never did that in the entire history of my system. I have included data from my system as proof. I'm now making a yearly cleaning of my panels a priority and Kevin will be getting my business.

You can totally see the change in panel generation. He started to clean them shortly after 12:30pm. Payment was also a breeze, I got a nice link to an invoice. Love the flexibility and would definitely consider using Premier Solar again in the future + will recommend to others

He claims on Yelp to be "fully licensed," yet, looking up the name of his company, as well as the…read morename Brandon Retlik on the State Contractors Licensing Board website, I can't seem to find a license for him or his company. I don't see any actual license number on his advertising either, which appears to be required, if one is actually "licensed." The possible lack of contractors license makes sense now though, as he took over $1200 from us up front to perform a $2400 job, charging us 50% of the cost of the entire job up front, but we now know after talking to our friend, who is also an attorney, that this is illegal in California (violation of B&P 7159.5-a Misdemeanor). Regardless, even if he is actually licensed, and is taking more than 10% of the cost of the job up-front, knowing he can't legally do such, makes his conduct really shady. After taking our $1200 up front and scheduling to install our permanent lights, he no-showed several times to our confirmed appts, always full of excuses when we reached out to him to find out why he no-showed (many other reviewers here talk about no-shows with him as well). Excuses consisted of, "I got asked to help at the Clovis parade" and "I'm in Riverdale on job," when he was scheduled to be on our job instead. Yet, he never reached out to tell us he couldn't make the appt or to reschedule, he'd just no-show and we'd have to follow-up with him to find out what happened. After several rounds of that, we had to eventually hire someone else to complete the actual work we paid Brandon to do. Brandon initially agreed to refund us the money, due to his repetitive and complete failure to perform any of the work as agreed. He initially stated he would reverse the $1200 debit card charge. Of course, like all his other lies, he never reversed the charges. After confronting him on such, he then agreed to drop a check off to us for $1200 instead, which he again never followed through with after making several commitments to do so (we have all the texts proving such). Now, he's just flat-out non-responsive to any calls or texts we make to him, so, we figured it was time for a review so others know exactly how this guy treated us and can make an informed decision when considering hiring him for any work. Apparently he thinks we're just going to allow him to literally steal $1200 from us, which if other reviews are true, he's done similar things to other Yelp reviewers as well. Unfortunately, due to his now complete non-responsiveness and total failure to return our $1200, it looks like our only recourse left per the attorney we know, is to go the route of filing an official complaint with the CA Contractor Licensing Board next week, as well as filing a civil legal claim (Letter of Demand already sent). Based upon prior reviews, given the fact, he has apparently taken other people's money as well and then not performed the work for up front payments, would seem to potentially establish a pattern of deception by: 1. Charging more up front than the law allows (50% vs a max of 10%); and 2. taking money from consumers and then not performing the work. So, we're going to meet with law enforcement as well to see if anything else can be done about him taking our money and running with it. Luckily, we have EVERYTHING well documented very clearly in writing with him, so, proving all of the above legally in court and with the CSLB, will not be difficult whatsoever. The takeaway: based upon our experience with this guy taking our money up front and then vanishing, we clearly don't recommend his services, but, hopefully the wheels of justice will catch up with him, as it appears he's taken advantage of other people as well based upon other online reviews, as well as an unanswered BBB complaint from 2023 (easy to view online). We clearly aren't the first victim he's taken money from and then disappeared. Wish we would have read all the Yelp reviews first, as well as the BBB complaint, prior to hiring him. Lesson learned the hard way on this one!

I had other things going on, but made sure I was back home and available for when they arrived. At 9:30 I called to double check that they were still coming. The person I spoke with was perplexed, asked for my address, and then said they'd call me right back. I'm willing to forgive a forgotten appointment, I'm a forgetful person myself. But I never heard back. Sadly, we will be looking for a new solar cleaning service.

Even when they do show up, several panels are often missed, and I have to bring them to their attention. In addition, they have broken several roof tiles in the past and had to replace them. The people performing the actual cleaning are usually young adults (kids, in my book) who seem to lack basic customer service skills when I communicate what needs to be done. Today, when I called to ask whether they were still coming for my scheduled cleaning, the customer service representative asked, "Did you receive an email confirming that we were actually coming? All appointments are scheduled as tentative." That's not how appointments are supposed to work. If you schedule an appointment, you show up. If you can't make it, you notify the customer. According to their system, customers are apparently expected to assume the company will not come unless they receive additional confirmation. That approach is completely backward and unacceptable. Needless to say, I will be looking for another company to maintain my solar panels.
