This was my fourth time using Barrows for window treatment. Obviously I was pleased if I used…read moreBarrows for each place I lived. Never again. This time they badly mis-measured the windows in a bedroom. Because of that mistake, the window treatments were unusable and had to be re-done. For a few months, Barrows gave me an expected date of arrival, but the date kept being pushed out. Eventually, Barrows stopped up-dating me and I heard nothing. I began calling to try to get information. I thought I had been forgotten and my order lost. Every time I called, I got a different person. In all, I was passed around to five different people as I tried to get information. It took five months to get the window treatments and when I did get them, they were not the original fabric because that was no longer available. (Barrows did not notify me this was going to be the case.) In the past, the installers have been excellent. This time, the men who came to install, did not know what they were doing and I had to argue with them to place the window treatments so that the most light could be blocked. Barrows eventually offered me a small amount of money as compensation. Imagine my feelings when the window treatments I waited so long for finally arrived and were installed, to get a coupon from Barrows for $500 to be used upon initial consultation. That was like adding insult to injury. The delay in my receiving my order was not Barrows' fault. That was a supply chain problem that began to develop just at the time of the order. The original mis-measurement WAS Barrows' fault. Had the original measurement been done accurately, I would not have encountered the supply chain problem. I don't think Barrows is the company it once was and I would not use them again.

The 2" blinds we bought from HD let in more light. Discounted for the delay and then remaining balance I refused to pay since the shutters suck. Haven't heard from David since July 3rd when he was going to fix everything if I would pay the full balance. Agreed but it's been crickets. At least I didn't pay the balance and have proof I don't have to. STAY AWARE. Buyer beware

When closed it is not blackout, but blocks just the right amount of light. The technology is fantastic allowing control with a remote, and wifi/bluetooth connectivity so that you can control with an app on your phone. You can store favorite settings with the blinds a certain height, or a certain degree of tilt on the shade so it moves to that location with one click. You can also set programs daily or weekly as a sort of "alarm" if you want to wake up to the light, or have it drawn shut when you're going to bed. Roger M. was wonderful to deal with. He is professional and highly skilled. On time, and quick with installation. He also goes over in detail every aspect of the system and gets it set up and ready to use before leaving. Unfortunately, my experience with the sales process and pricing was very disappointing. I received a quote that was significantly higher than expected and much higher than what others have paid for comparable installations within a few months from when I received my quote. I provided information about a friend who recently had Sunburst shutters installed for several windows at a much lower total cost, hoping the company would work with me to find a reasonable solution. I made it clear that I liked the product and was ready to purchase, but the pricing made it impossible to justify moving forward. I was also disappointed with the advertised "25% off" promotion. The way it was presented gave the impression that customers would receive 25% off their purchase, but I later learned there were significant requirements and a very high spending threshold needed to actually receive that discount. That felt misleading and was frustrating as a customer trying to understand the true cost. The quality of the shutters may be good, but the overall buying experience, lack of transparency with pricing, and limited willingness to work with a serious customer left me disappointed.

Requested a quote for bay window shutters and it's like pulling teeth. And wants me to perform and provide the measurements myself. I was pretty clear that because these are bay windows I'm not comfortable measuring them myself, but she said, close is good enough. These are not cheap window treatments, and if I wanted to measure and order them myself I wouldn't have reached out to these so-called experts... Maybe they're too busy for new customers?
