These new ones are sleek, modern, and super easy to adjust to whatever configuration I want. They are the top-down, bottom-up style, which I had never heard of, but I was all in when Tim and Jake explained them to me. Tim, the owner, came and did the install and in 30 minutes I was good to go. The two I installed were tests to see how I would like them, and since they're a winner, I'll do the rest of the house sometime later. We love our Hunter Douglas top-down, bottom-up (kind of sounds like a crazy night in Key West with too much to drink!) shades. Emily is a straight shooter in the office and Jake couldn't have been nicer, but Wilson might be my favorite staff member of all. The windows look perfect now. They did an incredibly good job redoing our, what appears to me, complicated fabric covered chairs. They even refinished the walnut base and legs, we were not expecting this and at no additional charge. Speaking of charge, it was more than reasonable, the interior design company we had engaged had quoted us more than double what Homan Interiors charged us, using the same material. It was a pleasure talking to the owner, it was obvious he really enjoys bringing these old chairs back to their former glory. She was very pleasant and seem knowledgeable. I contacted her through email for a consultation a few days later. I heard nothing for 6 days and sent another email to her and to the main email for Hoffman and Albers. Heidi responded that she never received my email, but we could schedule something for the current week. I responded with a day and told her I could get more specific about the time. I sent another email the following day with a specific time, asking if that would work out. Again, I heard nothing back. I finally sent an email that this wasn't going to work and received a response to that. Without going into detail, it was not the most professional response. I am surprised that in an industry where communication and customer relations are vital, Hoffman and Albers failed miserably. That should be a red flag for anyone seeking design services. I came willingly with checkbook open, and couldn't even get a consultation scheduled.
