The facilities inside the store are good, and it even features a Pharmacy, Cafe as well as products or concessions from multiple brands including Accessorize, Decathlon, Timpson, Greggs and even a Post Office! The selection in terms of groceries was also pretty good, I did find the store a little hard to follow, struggling to find certain products at first. They seemed to stock most of the items you'd expect to find in an ASDA, I still prefer the product ranges available at Tesco and Sainsbury's, who I feel have a better selection of brands, but this store was pretty good for an ASDA. There is a large car park, however, do be careful if approaching as a pedestrian, one of the main crossings is on a sharp corner, which is poorly lit, meaning it is difficult to see if any cars are coming, as it is a blind spot, this would be dangerous in the middle of the day, which almost caused me to get run over, let alone in the dark nights - with winter coming, they need to sort it out as it's a safety hazard. 4*

I love their organic range 'SO' and their 'free from' range. You will find sections for electricals, toys, clothing, dry cleaning, photo processing, stationary and they also have a petrol station. Not the cheapest supermarket out there but I have been happy with the quality. Its also worth keeping an eye out for the special offer leaflets they have. Located in the Caldy Valley area in Chester, it has ample parking and is open late.

Morrisons does seem to have a better meat section. I can get cuts of meat I can't get elsewhere.

While I wasn't able to get the item I came in for, I was pleased with the selection overall, I found them to be one of the better supermarkets in the area for overall choice/selection in both grocery and home, the store had a nice, modern feel to it too which I liked. There is also an upstairs area with a Cafe and Clothing Section, so the store is HUGE. I do think the staff could have had better knowledge of where to find items, after asking someone where to find something, I later found out we were in the wrong area of the store and they didn't stock it anyway, he did seem super friendly though. The worst part about this store for me was they seemed to have blockages down every aisle from warehouse cages to even a warehouse truck, it seemed to be in the worst possible positions, luckily the store was large so this didn't have a huge effect, but it felt like I was in the middle of a construction site in parts of the store. My checkout experience was quick and easy using Sainsbury's Smartshop, it would have been good to see them have more bags at the front of the store in order to support this. 4* - Very good supermarket in Leigh, it is spacious and modern with a fairly good selection of most items.

The store is fairly easy to navigate and has a reasonable selection for a store of its' size, it also supports the Sainsbury's Smartshop app, meaning you are able to use your phone to scan items and bag them as you're going around the store, just head to the checkout to pay, and you're good to go. More recently, the Cafe area at the front of the store has been converted into a Starbucks, which is a nice Starbucks location, I like visiting this Starbucks when shopping at Cheshire Oaks, as it is much nicer and quieter than the one actually inside the centre. The staff in the store seem friendly, and the checkout experience was quick and easy, combined with Smartshop. I was able to find the items I came in for. The store in general does have a slightly older look/feel to it than other Sainsbury's stores, so has more of an older/classic feel, it could do a refurb in the slight future but remains OK for now. 4*

The store inside isn't as modern as other Sainsbury's Local stores in city centres or even railway stations (compare to Manchester Piccadilly), but it gets the job done... well sort of. Selection of most items was small, especially the Free From section which was pretty much non-existent. Staff around the store didn't seem too helpful, I was told they didn't have a particular item, they didn't make as much effort as other stores have in the past to help me find it, taking one glance and just saying no, which was disappointing on both levels of service and stock. Location wise it is convenient if you are getting the train to get something for your journey or to take home, while not being the nicest convenience store in terms of overall feel and stock apart from that, considering service factors too which let the store down, I feel only a two-star rating saves it, which is mainly for providing a basic level of services to serve Liverpool Central station.

If you are like me living in the moment, or as some would say the last minute, then the opportunity to fuel up right now or buy your evening meal on the way home can be fundamental to your function. What is really good in Central Station Sainsburys is the surprising range of fresh food which amongst the fast food options give you a real choice to be healthy and cook up your evening repast from scratch. When I am feeling a bit inspired I will do just that with my favourite feasts. I confess there are times when the comfort of convenience food is just too tempting and a microwave cannelloni and a prepared salad is about as adventurous as I can manage. There are many manifestations of convenience and we all recognize that if we were perfect people with a thought and a plan perhaps stops like a Sainsburys at a station would have short and inglorious lives. Good news for Sainsburys though that, for me at least, no such carefully thought out planning has yet emerged.
