I had a really old pipe that was 7/8 inch OD that had burst . It was part of really an old system because it was unlike any other zone pipes I had. The guy at the desk knew exactly what to do and how to fix it. It barely cost a few dollars but you can't get that kind of help at Home Depot or Lowe's. read more

I can't say enough good things about Windmill. The staff is incredibly helpful and their inventory is far superior to any big box store. In addition to helping me with supplies to pipe out the new system, Pepper at the Delray Beach location was so kind and informative in helping me troubleshoot a wiring problem with the irrigation controller. Something that turned out to be really simple that a well compensated electrician could not figure out when wiring the new system. I highly recommend stopping here for any irrigation sprinkler or hardware needs. Don't waste half a day shopping around at other stores for for parts. Windmill's prices are very reasonable and comparable to those at the larger stores. Windmill has it all. read more

I must say that the employees at Windmill Sprinkler are extremely knowledgeable, polite, friendly and helpful. I have been need buying my sprinkler parts as well as other hardware from them for a long time and every time I go there they have to answers to my sprinkler problems. Was reconstructing an old sprinkler system which turned into a lot more work than I had intended. Finally, I am no longer forced to shop at the big box stores. The staff at Windmill is AMAZING. Excellent customer service doesn't even begin to describe it. Their extensive "how to" knowledge coupled with their patience to transfer that knowledge along with the wide array of items in inventory can't be beat! The best part is that is only part of the story. Their service department has repaired my sprinkler system numerous times arriving at the promised time and at prices that were less than their competition. When my sprinkler pump malfunctioned, they rebuilt the motor saving me hundreds of dollars instead of replacing it. I have been using Windmill Sprinkler for my irrigation and landscape supplies for my company for over two years now. They are extremely knowledgeable and helpful at every visit. I often drive the extra 20 minutes when working in Wellington or West Palm Beach, rather than shop at another supplier. I cant begin to tell you how many jobs that the employees of Windmill have helped me trouble shoot, and essentially saved my butt. If the advice and information provided at this store was sold as a subscription, I would pay monthly.Their prices never disappoint, and their inventory never lacks. For landscape, cutting shovels are about 30$ cheaper than from the landscape supply stores that I shop at (the good yellow ones, not the cheap junk), and all of their other supplies are fairly priced. Stay away from home depot, this place is worth the trip! read more

Growing up in Delray this store has been here as long as I can remember. I'm sure they've been in business more than 50 years but since they are a little off the beaten path I've never had a reason to go in. So while literally meandering (something you do over 50 in Florida) we decided to see if their prices were any better on a few things we needed, one of which was a wheel barrow, than what we had already seen. They didn't have a large selection, I think 3 different type and their prices weren't better on anything else but I can say they do have a really good supply of hand tools and sprinkler supplies and an enormous supply of screws, nuts, nails & bolts. This is definitely a store that if you are looking for a hard to find something..... they probably have it. While browsing around looking for what we needed we were amused to see a very well cared for, very well socialized, cat that lives there. It was very sweet and would have been a great photo op for Yelp! But, did I take a picture? No! Why? Because there wasn't food on a plate and that's what I'm conditioned to take pictures of! In any case, if you have a hard to find part for your sprinklers, lawnmower, etc. this is a good resource. But, know what you are looking for and be willing to seek it out. This is a pretty good sized store and it isn't the type of place that someone will follow you around offering to help. It isn't even really the place to go unless you really know what it is you are looking for or need. We got the distinct impression that browsers, shoppers and 1st timers might be a little too time consuming. So again, if you are looking for something in this category and haven't had luck It's definitely worth the trip. Just be prepared to take the time to find it. read more

They will not give any estimates. I had to send in photos of our system and then she gave me a 2 week time frame. In the meantime we called a few others and got quotes (which is normal for contract work) and called her back to make sure I understood her correctly and that when they come out, they will first tell us what is wrong and about how much it would cost- which is called an estimate. And again she said they won't do that. I canceled and went with a professional company that does estimates. read more

My review is based solely on calling to request sprinkler repair service at my home in Boca Raton. Monday - called for service and was asked to take several pictures of the timer and email it, which I did that evening. Tuesday PM - no response, called and left message to confirm receipt of the pictures. Wednesday AM - rec'd a very brief email that the pics were received & sorry the internet was down -called, again, to see if they had any idea as to when someone could come out for service. The lady was very rude and her response was very unprofessional, basically, I was told that they do not operate like a doctors office and do not give out appointments (or a window of time or a specific date for service) and all she could tell me was that when he had the time and was in the area, then he would call me and come by!!!! Complete disregard for the working class. I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

I called Friday PM and they were out Monday. I had plugged sprinkler heads and one section not functioning. I also had a driveway section that folks had run over and busted some heads. All was handled to my satisfaction in about an hour at a very reasonable cost. read more

My timer that they installed in the house I bought had broke and I went there to see if it was under warranty and the guy in the back was very nice and helped me fix it so I tried to use this company a once again a few years ago when I had some yard work done and needed my sprinklers moved around and after the initial visit the guy never came back out and when I called a got a story about how he was out of town. So I kept calling for a month and he was out of town every time so I gave up and called someone else. Now I had more work done and figured I would give them second chance. I now have two 5 month old puppies though so I told them to please call me and let me know before someone shows up to work on my house so I can make sure the dogs are put away and their landmines are cleaned up. I get a call when I'm at work the the tech can be out I said I can't get home for at least 30 mins so as long as he comes after that it would be fine. I got home in 20 to find my gate left open (5 month old puppies in back yard) and sprinklers on (landmines now mush) so i tell him please make sure you keep the gate shut and go inside to kennel my dogs. He knocks on the door and shows me the things he is going to fix I say ok and go back inside to finish tending my dogs and 10 mins later look out to see no car in the drive. I think to myself ok he went to get the stuff he needs. 3 hours later still no one here so I call and I get a very rude man on the phone saying there is to much dog poop in the back yard and the tech won't work there. To which I respond with that was why he was supposed to wait till after I got home to do anything and I can't pick up mushy dog poop cause he turned on my sprinklers. I ask if I can schedule it for tomorrow so I an clean up before he gets here and he still rude mind you says yes after 1 pm he will call. The next day after 3pm I have not heard anything so I call again and a nice lady answered and told me that he got stuck on a job (why no call to tell me?) This is Thursday so I try again to reschedule for Today Tuesday at 9am she said I will be the first on the list so definitely 9am. At 11 am I call because again no call no show by this company and I gat another guy who now say's back to the dog poop thing he will not come out. You can't have the courtesy to call? I can't believe this company is still in business I will certainly never use them again. I know may dad did business with them for years as well and he will not now and he has many high end clients that he manages properties for and used to use this company for their sprinkler repairs. I hate leaving one star reviews but this is definitely one that deserves it. read more

Another review stated Windmill charges for a review when others don't. I have had to go to Windmill so many times, because the BIG stores don't stock enough of a variety or specialty types of irrigation/plumbing. Their prices across the board are cheaper too. I have never inquired about an estimate, so while they may charge, I would guarantee that you recoup that $$ in the prices of what you buy and the quality of service. Love this store. read more

I went to Windmill for galvanized pipe and various other hardware and supplies for an artistic project. I cannot say enough good things about the help I received, the efforts made to find everything I needed and the patience demonstrated until I did find it all. I'm sure it's not often they get a request to help build a lighting fixture out of galvanized metal but everyone was willing to help. I will continue to buy whatever supplies I can from Windmill. read more

started my introduction with windmill in 2016 for pump repair and few head replacements..$279.00. I again had pump issued in June of 2018, $179, i was told it was an electrical issued by Rex. I had electrician pull new wires, new upgrade to 220 and thought that would be end. 2 months later, the SAME issues to i assumed Windmill would come out to look at it again, but was TOLD by Darla that they do not guarantee and it would be a week before someone could back. I basically pleaded with her as the lawn was dying and the sun was extreme, and was told " you need to wait like everyone else". I had spoken to Darla and Rex many times before to coordinate etc and mistakenly thought I was considered a good customer and would get a bit of consideration before cold calls. NO Finally came again, another $270. At that point i just wanted it working so i paid again, for the LAST time. They do no back their work, Darla, in office is rude and never did i get a, sorry but we cant do it for a week, just " wait like everyone else. Ended up have SAME issue for third time in 6 months, in December. Called another company. You should too!!! read more
