A continuous deck accommodating a couple of gas bbqs, tables and chairs for each room, a small kitchen area (fridge, microwave, coffee maker sink), gas fireplace, etc! On turning the cover of the bed we found a mint on each pillow. Such a lovely treat in addition to the clean well kept establishment. A pro or con is the no children in parts of the Inn, not sure if in all parts. Strict no smoking in no smoking rooms (not sure if smoking rooms exist as we are not smokers). Beyond the deck are terraced gardens down to the water's edge. In the morning a generous continental breakfast is included.

The water pressure is great and can get super hot or super cold. The alarm clock also has USB outlets. The lighting is great and has a full length mirror so is easy to get ready in. They have chairs outside on the little porch that wraps around the motel so you can sit outside and enjoy the weather. There is a 7-11 and gas across the street so anything you may need last second is walking distance away. Katie who is one of the owners with her husband live on site and readily available. I did all my booking with Katie through text and she was very responsive and informative. She is super friendly and makes sure you have everything you may need. They have free ice too. Lastly it is very affordable. We loved it here so much we already booked our next stay in a couple weeks and plan on this being our go to motel when we come up north.

Ogdensburg has a motel, perhaps a walmart, some fast food restaurants, but at first I didn't think it had a hotel. I was driving slow in the dark not wanting to hit deer and, then, I even saw some deer. And just then, on the southern outskirts of Ogdensburg I saw the Stonefence resort and motel. It was about 10PM and no one was at the front desk, but there was a phone on the side of the wall and after picking up the receiver, it didn't take long for the owner came driving in. The motel was great - drive up right outside your door. With windows open on two sides of the room, a breeze comes through. It is a very comfortable bed, good wifi, good shower, good climate control. The back door and window looked down to the river. I mostly skip hotel breakfasts but I had the free one her:, made to order - fresh scrambled eggs, sausage, and potatoes, hot and cooked just right by a friendly member of the staff. The staff people are very helpful. I was moved on, but there is a nice boardwalk-type place on the water, with chairs under a gazebo. There are many, many kinds of rooms. I felt blessed and lucky to have not had to push on 45 miles in the dark toward watertown.
