It was clean, service was friendly, the amenities were present, and everything you'd expect from a decent room. However, if we were to be super picky; our room was front facing and it was loud. It didn't bother me because I had earplugs and I kind of like the sound of the city and the train. But if you're not used to that, it might be disruptive. The elevator smelled like cigarettes. The shower pressure was very weak, the worst I've experienced. The room temperature did not exceed 20ish Celsius. There was only one lamp for us. The fixture for the AC installment was just a piece of painted plywood. I would definitely come back. The location and neighborhood is great. It has everything one could need such as grocery store, movies, skytrain, restaurants, and other places to go. We got lucky with parking during the weekend. It's free from after 8pm to 12pm. I booked the one night deluxe executive king room, which has a soaking tub and a balcony, from their website and used their PNW resident rate offer. It included valet, turndown service, full access to their fitness and steam room. And right around the corner from Vogue Theatre where we had tickets that night for a show. Location was so convenient. All in all, good price compared to what third parties were offering. In the special notes I had wrote we'll be celebrating a birthday and we were surprised in our with chocolate covered strawberries and a birthday card from the staff. Lovely surprise. Check in was a breeze. I received an email that morning to basically pre check in- enter ID info & credit card so once I get there they will just hand me the keys. Couple mins after entering our room, staff member knocked on our door and offered to fill our ice bucket. That was a first for me and a nice touch of luxury. Front desk & staff was so welcoming and attentive. They would always greet you "Welcome Home". Check in 3pm & check out 12p. Had time explore around the city for coffee & breakfast with time to relax in the room before the drive home.

We had lots of luggage since we had just finished an Alaska cruise. It was too early to check in but we had hoped we could store our luggage here so we wouldn't have to drag around with us. But, surprisingly, we were allowed to check in several hours early which truly made our day. Although the hotel is somewhat dated it was very clean. And the friendly service made our stay very pleasant. Great location with many restaurants, an H-Mart, and other shopping within easy walking distance.

Pre-Cruise Stay at Hotel Moda…read more We flew into Vancouver for an Alaskan cruise and decided to arrive a day early so we wouldn't be rushed getting to the ship. Most hotels near the cruise port were outrageously priced, but I found a great deal on Hotels.com for Hotel Moda--around $350 for the night. We took an Uber from the airport and checked in at the main building, which had a stylish little lobby with a sports bar on one side and an Italian restaurant on the other. The front desk staff told us our room was actually across the street, which felt a little sketchy at first--but once we got to room 402 on the fourth floor, we were very pleasantly surprised. The room felt more like a brand-new apartment than a hotel room! It had a full kitchen, a separate bedroom with a door, a modern bathroom, two TVs, and a spacious living area. Super clean, comfortable, and updated--we loved it. Location-wise, it was about a 15-minute walk to Gastown and downtown, and the next morning we took a short $10 taxi ride to the cruise port. We were dropped off right at the front of the luggage drop-off line. Overall, I would absolutely stay at Hotel Moda again and highly recommend it for anyone looking for a reasonably priced, modern place to stay before a cruise out of Vancouver.

It's in the back, although you can also enter through Karma on W. Georgia. Just go to the elevators and down to UL to check-in. The valet attendants were consistently friendly, especially one of the taller gentlemen whose name I wish I'd remembered. At check-in, Shashim (I hope I'm spelling that right) found out it was my birthday, upgraded my room, and even sent up some treats. Nice touch. The hotel is beautiful, and my room had a great view. The only hiccup was that my room wasn't serviced during my three-night stay. It turned out I had accidentally activated the DND setting on the in-room iPad controls. The first night they put a letter under my door but it referenced a "sign" when the actual physical sign was on the inside of my door. I was confused but just moved it the next morning. Once I called to ask why my room wasn't cleaned again and for fresh towels, the staff explained what happened. The manager called me personally while the housekeeping associate waited outside my door until I gave permission to enter and he even showed me the setting so I wouldn't run into the issue again. But by then, I only had one night left. Once I realized the misunderstanding, everything made sense. I appreciated how professionally the staff handled it and I'd definitely consider staying here again if I venture to Vancouver again.

We stayed here for three nights in a row!…read more The room is gargantuan! I love the layout of the room. We stayed in room 780 on the west side and it had a separate king sized bed that had doors that could be closed for privacy and noise. Inside that room, there was a closet and television along with outlets on each side of the bed. I unplugged the phone because we had an infant and didn't want to be suddenly disturbed. Outside of the above-mentioned room, there is a hallway with its own closet, a restroom with a huge bathtub, a living room with a couch, television, Nespresso coffee machine, hot water machine, a desk, refeigerator, and another smaller loveseat. You can imagine how large the space is from this description, right? I didn't love that the restroom had an odd smell to it all the time, but hey, it's a restroom! Also, for a place with two of everything, it may have made sense to have the master bedroom have a smaller restroom with a standalone shower. I paid the extra $99 CAD for a 4 p.m. checkout but was practically rushed out by three staff members trying to eject me outside of my room by 3:50 p.m. ugh, I've got an infant, give us a moment! A one-bedroom signature suite at L'Hermitage was significantly less than a regular room at the Pan Pacific and the Rosewood so I booked 3 nights ($625CAD/night). I got off the Silver Moon at 9:45am, handed my luggage off to a representative from Luggage Forward, and walked from the cruise terminal up to the hotel. My room wasn't ready, so I dropped off my carry-on and backpack and went shopping and to have lunch. I was still on my way to CF Pacific Centre when the front desk called, informing me my room was ready. I told them I'd return after lunch. Wow, I loved my room (707)! As you entered through a short hallway, you found yourself looking at a full kitchen to your right, bathroom to your left and then the bedroom, past a closet housing a stack washer/dryer. The living room was bright and airy because there were walls of glass. Past the kitchen was a den with a desk and sofa. Off the living room was a small lanai overlooking the pool. The kitchen featured a gas range, full-sized refrigerator, dishwasher and microwave. It was like a timeshare unit, not a hotel room, as there was tableware, glassware, etc. The only nitpick was the bathroom; it didn't quite measure up to the rest of the unit. It was small, with a full-sized glass-enclosed tub, a Toto (but without the washlet) toilet, and a small vanity and shelf unit opposite the vanity. It was totally functional, but I wished the tub had a shower wand, not just the rain head. If I could, I'd want this room moved to Hawaii to become my residence. The front desk staff were personable and friendly. The exercise facilities were fine. The L'Orangerie restaurant is located on the 5th floor ... more on that in a separate review. I wasn't a big fan of the eggs as they were extremely runny but its kind of interesting they put steak sauce over it, maybe its a Canada thing? Oh and the breakfast is complimentary might I add.
