Celebrating my bf's bday, I decided to surprise him with a more upscale experience and Wedgewood was a very nice treat. I booked the one night deluxe executive king room, which has a soaking tub and a balcony, from their website and used their PNW resident rate offer. It included valet, turndown service, full access to their fitness and steam room. And right around the corner from Vogue Theatre where we had tickets that night for a show. Location was so convenient. All in all, good price compared to what third parties were offering. In the special notes I had wrote we'll be celebrating a birthday and we were surprised in our with chocolate covered strawberries and a birthday card from the staff. Lovely surprise. Check in was a breeze. I received an email that morning to basically pre check in- enter ID info & credit card so once I get there they will just hand me the keys. Couple mins after entering our room, staff member knocked on our door and offered to fill our ice bucket. That was a first for me and a nice touch of luxury. Front desk & staff was so welcoming and attentive. They would always greet you "Welcome Home". Check in 3pm & check out 12p. I usually don't review an establishment while I am still here but I am pretty confident that my feelings will stay the same by the time I check out. Everyone on the staff is so pleasant, professional and friendly and they make you feel really welcomed. The decor is old world cozy replete with fireplaces and dark wood furniture in their lounge. The bar is gorgeous at Bacchus and the sommelier and serve, Charlotte, are amazing. They really made our nights here (multiple because that's how good they were). The food was delicious (try the duck) and the wine, splendid (bottle from Rhône). The rooms are comfortable and have everything you need. The turn down service is lovely so you don't need to have housekeeping and can save on resources. When I return to Vancouver, I'll definitely come back. I'd also tell all my friends, too! read more

Really lovely for comfortable lobby, friendly staff and nice food. Was there for an event. The staff put out takeout boxes at the end for us to take leftovers home. My ONLY thing is that the bathrooms have weird toilet designs that catch far too much debris. But I loved that a gentleman at the front desk greeted us as if we were hotel guests. And A+ for washcloths in the bathrooms to minimize waste. read more

We stayed here for 7 nights and were really disappointed. We have stayed at several other 5 star hotels in Vancouver, including the Rosewood Hotel Georgia and the JW Marriott Parq Vancouver. We love both of those hotels. The rooms are incredibly dated. To say they are in need of a refresh is a major understatement. Their website only has blurred photos of the rooms (I understand why now) and they are largely misrepresented. Service was well below standard for a 5 star hotel. On many occasions I would have to call 2 or 3 times before something was done. This included simple tasks like refilling the bath gel in the shower or emptying our trash bins. The best thing about this hotel is Bacchus, the restaurant downstairs. We ate here for breakfast, lunch, dinner and their fabulous winter afternoon tea. Service was exceptional and the food was fantastic. Overall, not a great stay, and lots of areas of improvement. I cannot recommend this hotel. I think there are much better 5 star options in Vancouver. read more

What a lovely hotel and stay experience. Classy, traditional, and sophisticated ambience. We received excellent service from bellman and front desk staff. The bar/lounge, and award-winning restaurant onsite (Bacchus) is wonderful for drinks, small bites, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They have nightly live piano which you can hear upon entering the hotel lobby in the evenings. We stayed in the executive suite with two double beds. The room was immaculate and cozy. Our room had a balcony, which was nice. The room includes a fridge with enough space for your own items in addition to some items for purchase. It also include a coffee maker and tea. LOVED the location!! Honestly, it was only 5 to 13 minute walk to all of the restaurants I wanted to visit. It is also only 22 minute walk to the Harbor Sea Planes as well. read more

Requested quiet room and received one looking back from the street, so no view from the balcony, but quiet. Too short of a stay to check the spa or gym. Nightly music in the lounge, not too loud. Unfortunately we had a very bad service experience at the Wedgewood Hotel. We had a mountain hike booked for 830 am. We ordered breakfast the night before to be delivered at 8 am. After callas at 810 815. 820 and 825 and being told each time our food would arrive "in two minutes" no food ever arrived. There were other people booked on the hike so we could not delay leaving. No one at the hotel was able to solve our problem of no food or coffee before a long hike. We had no way to solve the problem ourselves - we would have gotten breakfast somewhere else if we had known. Very disappointed and no amount of "we're sorry" fixes this. The restaurant manager also went MIA when we left the lobby at 830 If you choose to stay make sure you have backup plans for anything you depend on the hotel for read more

We really loved our stay at the Wedgewood! Our room was very comfortable and kept beautifully clean by the attentive staff. The front desk personnel always greeted us with a smile and great ideas for transportation, restaurants, walking areas, and answered any other questions we asked. A special thanks to front desk staff members Melvin, David and Ryan. They really made it feel like we were part of the hotel family. In the restaurant, we received the most lovely, friendly, warm attention from our servers, Raymond and Yuki. They are fantastic ambassadors for the hotel; very professional, while also being warm, kind, with good senses of humor. They really contribute to the feeling of family. My friend and I stayed here last weekend for a girls trip. I'm about to have my 2nd baby and figured this would be one of my last chances to go do everything girly that I like for a while longer! The service is just as wonderful now as it was before. The host who checked us in was the same wonderful host who checked us in on our last stay and he recognized us! The beds are comfy and the tub is SO WONDERFUL to soak in after a day of shopping! My friend and I were only slightly disappointed that we were met with dead silence in the halls instead of the sounds of passionate lovemaking. OOH!!!! Totally weird thing to compliment, but I loved the washroom in the lobby! It is totally European styled with the doors that go all the way up to the ceiling and shelf toilets. It reminded me of being in Austria! The same host was there for checkout and was kind enough to thank us for staying again, and even wished me luck with the end of my pregnancy! I felt very special. Do not stay in penthouse 1401 or Wedgewood Suite 501 people regardless of policies will smoke in these rooms. The product and system used by housekeeping does not work. The manager on duty pretended not to smell anything, It was overwhelming. I have travelled the world. I love the employees and respect them they can't help it is the owner does not want to change out the fabrics, carpets that hold the smoke. I guess there are a lot of older guests who have been coming for 40 years and never notice or they are the one's smoking. I had to pay the price no matter what. I moved twice and no one was very happy. Plus, I must say the level of clientele is changing the people look dumply, not dressed and over the top strange and rude. Not in the restaurant but staying over. I only have issues with certain rooms not the staff they are over the top fabulous. read more

There is a reason why this hotel gets rated so high! Location: Right in DT, walkable to many coffee shops, stores, tourist attractions. Ambience: Elegant and upscale. Lobby is cozy and classy. Room: Spacious. We had a room with a sitting area since there were 3 people but our friends had a regular room for 2 and it was very good sized. Cleanliness: Perfect. Staff: Absolutely lovely! I can not stress enough how wonderful each staff member was. The gentleman that greeted me the first day to the gentleman that checked me out on the last day (Ryan) were all friendly and helpful. The cleaning crew was amazing, rooms were immaculately cleaned during the day and they would also come back for a turndown service in the evening (with water and cookies!). They even left us a handwritten note to contact them when we wanted the sofa bed pulled out, and when we did call, they came literally 2minutes later. So responsive. Everyone greets you with a smile and a hello. Overall, I am so glad we stayed at Wedgewood, and I will def come back for another stay. Lovely hotel and so happy with everything. The elevator/room card system can be a little tricky though, you have to leave the card in a few secs for it to work. Other than that, no complaints!! The service from the doorman to front desk to Bachus lounge servers - all exceptional. The lobby is warm and inviting with classic dark wood decor and a fireplace to warm yourself. We were on the 14th floor with a lovely deck that had two chairs for enjoying morning coffee and fresh air. The room is beautifully appointed and feels like a nicely decorated home with coffee service and a comfortable bed, good quality bedding and soft bath towels. The bathtub is wonderfully deep and comfortable for a good soak. The shower is just ok due to water pressure being a little less than ideal with a challenge to get warm rather than hot or cool water. Unreserved thumbs up recommendation. We enjoyed late evening tea and snack foods in Bachus and enjoyed the hotel location with great shopping including designer boutiques within a block or two in many directions. I'm not staying anywhere else in Vancouver now after staying here. That's how much I enjoyed my stay. The lobby is my my idea of pure elegance. Ditto for the lounge and restaurant. Had a phenomenal meal there. Staff couldn't be any nicer and our suite was one of the nicest and most comfortable I've come across. Wedgewood hotel is not all that it says it is. Not customer service friendly whatsoever unless you are a local. We have the penthouse in room 1402 and it smells horrific and house cleaning has come to try to fix the smell, nothing has helped and this place needs to be refurbished, carpet wise. Would not recommend and we travel worldwide. It is now 12:45 am in the morning and the room next to our penthouse is arguing and it wakes us up, it took Dee at the front desk 20 phone calls before she would pick up the phone to help take care of this situation. This place needs some customer service help. Also, when I asked for a continental breakfast to be included with our penthouse, since I saw it advertised on their website, I was told no by two managers. They knew we left to go back to our room upset, and I was also told that we would also have someone come up with housekeeping to help with the smell or light a candle, and no one ever came up. From the moment we arrived to the day we departed four days later, we enjoyed impeccable service everywhere, a comfortable room with great amenities, a restaurant and bar with unmatched service along with delicious food and drinks plus every person there greeted us with a smiling face and delightful conversation. Got a night stay in the Wedgewood suite as a birthday present. The most ridiculous incident happened, violated our privacy, staff handled extremely poorly. Night manager had no real solution but traumatized us twice more. The experience can be sumed up as traumatizing, embarrassing, dismissive. The lack of the most basic hospitality training was clear. Clearly they lack the basic protocol for such situations which could have been easily handled by simple apologies and any gesture for making it up to us. Room was underwhelming but OK. definitely not worthy of a 5 star. read more

We stayed at the Wedgewood for two nights. The room was impeccable. The housekeepers obviously work hard and deserve recognition for their work. Every night, we would come back to our room being tidied up and two warm cookies on the bedside table... Even chocolates welcomed us first into the room. You can't beat that. The bed was comfy and pillows were perfect making for a good night's rest. The location of the hotel is great. Right downtown and near Robson Square. With it being Christmas time, this makes it even more delightful. Parking was a bit annoying as I didn't wanna pay $35 a day for valet parking. We ended up parking at Paramount Place and going back every 12 hours to pay $10. Worth it if you ask me as it's only a block away and well-lit. Lol. I stayed one night at the Wedgewood for a small Vancouver trip from Seattle. The hotel is basically located in the heart of downtown next to Robson street, which has all the cool shops and restaurants to browse. Being in downtown the parking is Valet only and is somewhat pricey ($45 CAD). The valet parking was good though and check in was quick. The whole hotel was beautiful and my room was unexpectedly large with a stocked bar (granted these were additions if you were to consume anything and really overpriced). All the staff were great and I remember at one point a staff member skipping the elevator as to give me more space (the elevator is kind of small), which I thought was unnecessary, but definitely great service. I ordered room service for dinner, which was ok. I'd probably skip next time since there are so many options nearby. The fitness center is quaint (IE small and limited), but par for a hotel gym and you can get a small workout done. It could probably accommodate maybe 3 people max though. It did provide temporary use headphones which I thought was a nice touch. Not quite as luxurious as the fairmont w/ chilled towels, fruit and lemon water, but whatever. I would definitely recommend coming here for a stay if you have a larger budget and want to be directly in downtown. read more

We love the Wedgewood Hotel! Everyone here is friendly and courteous from the bell hop to the maids. We drove up from Seattle for Christmas and this hotel did not disappoint. The maids left complimentary bottles of water and cookies for us every day. The toiletries were from L'Occitane and were pleasant smelling. Valet is CAD $35 a day (not including tax), so we opted to park in Paramount Place overnight. Paramount Place is a block away from the hotel and had a well-lit parking lot. We paid about CAD $20-25 a day to keep our car there. read more

We were made to feel like the only guests of the hotel from the moment we arrived to celebrate our first anniversary staycation. Check-in was quick, kind and efficient and our room was immaculate topped off by the in-room jacuzzi tub and large balcony overlooking downtown Vancouver. Despite the smoke haze from the wildfires we enjoyed an afternoon playing board games on the balcony. The staff even delivered a complimentary box of chocolates while we played. The perfect accompaniment to my recent pregnancy diagnosis. My husband also tried to surprise me with a couples massage upon arrival. We appreciated the apologetic staff as they informed us about the risks of first trimester massage so I rescheduled a luxury pedicure the next morning instead. It was literally the BEST pedicure of my life. The esthetician took over an hour meticulously crafting my skin and nails while I rested on my back with a lavender eye pillow. She also had a background as a midwife and helped to calm my anxiety by sharing stories from her experience. It was the perfect way to start a day and ruined me from ever being able to enjoy a pedicure anywhere else. For our anniversary dinner we dined at the attached restaurant, Bacchus, and our expectations were blown away. The staff was catering to many anniversaries that evening yet made us feel like celebrities. We also enjoyed breakfast in our room the next morning which was easily ordered the night before and brought to us by a kind and thorough employee. I was grateful she reiterated that the coffee pot was decaf (since we requested it by writing it on the menu because there wasn't a box to check). If we ever have friends or family staying in Vancouver we will recommend they stay here - even if it's just a staycation. read more

It was such a treat that my friend brought me to Wedgewood hotel for an afternoon tea. We came here during the winter holiday and the lounge/restaurant was decorated beautifully with Christmas trees and nutcracker. Even their hightea set was decorated and they had a Christmas theme for the tea as well. There was a great variety of sandwiches and pasteries in the high tea set including some unique ones you don't see often like the toasted crumpets, baby shrimp sandwich, eclairs, and fruit cake. Tucked a half block off the soul of the city, Robson Street, this stately European traditional boutique hotel "Wows" on many levels, most notably the bar/lounge, elegant and inviting with big couches and thickly stuffed upholstered chairs, a fireplace and live piano. The rooms are large and comfortable and despite the traditional Queen Anne style furniture, it is looking a bit dated. The Spa is small as are the common areas, limitations of the tight architecture. I had a suite with a nice large patio and view. The service is also outstanding. If you enjoy a traditional experience , you'll love this hotel. If you to tend to enjoy trendy posh, you're in for a let down. For what its worth, this is my favourite hotel in the city. read more

Came here today for some relaxation and a facial. I arrived about an hour before my appointment to enjoy the spa. Having been to a few spas before (spa utopia, four seasons, and scandinave) I was a bit disappointed. The facilities are small, a 3-4 person "eucalyptus" steam room, a shower, and a sitting area. The steam room and spa area is co-ed which was slightly uncomfortable considering I was just in a towel. Some positives were that it was absolutely dead so I had a private spa for about 45 minutes. Also the facial was one of the best experiences of my life. Mask after mask as well as a head, arm, hand, leg, and foot massage....just heavenly. read more
