The staff is consistently friendly, the office is clean, and I've always felt comfortable coming here. After the office went under new ownership, I did have a couple of visits where the dentist at the time was very persistent about recommending additional treatments, including Invisalign (it was not Dr. Heap!) Some of the conversations felt more like pressure than helpful recommendations. During my most recent visit, I learned that dentist is no longer with the practice and met the new dentist, who I believe is Dr. Salinas. What a difference! She was fantastic -- kind, personable, and straight to the point. She gave me some genuinely helpful recommendations, but there was absolutely no aggressive upselling or pressure. That made such a positive impression on me. I've been happy with my experience and love this office. I'll definitely continue being a patient here for many years to come!

We were thankful to have OFD recommended to us after our first shoddy dentist went out of business (malpractices and lawsuits I'm assuming). The dentist office is easy to find via GPS, and has plenty of parking. The office is clean and the staff is very friendly and professional. Barb is my regular hygienist and she is gentle and professional. I've had to have one cavity filled here, and Dr. Castaño is the most gentle dentist I've ever had ! You can't even feel the numbing shots and getting a cavity filled was virtually a pain free experience and as pleasant as getting a cavity filled could be. I had a lot of anxiety leading up to the filling, but afterwards, it wasn't a big deal at all. I've had concerns about my TMJ problem, and Dr. Castaño had me fitted for a night guard, which has significantly reduced my jaw pain. He explained to me about TMJ and what treatment options were, and what I could do to ease my pain. I highly recommend this dental office !

My visit to Coast Dental Metro West was alarmingly disappointing. I initially scheduled a 2:00 PM appointment at Coast Dental Metro West. I received a text stating there was an issue with the online booking and requesting to move it to 3:30 PM. I called the office to confirm and spoke with Alejandro, who told me there was no record of my original 2:00 PM appointment but then scheduled me for 3:30 PM. I took time off work to attend the 3:30 PM appointment. When I arrived, the waiting room was completely full and a letter taped to the reception window explained they were short staffed. I checked in and asked how long the wait would be. The receptionist, who was very friendly and professional, said it could be about 30 minutes. I pointed out that there were at least six people already waiting and that I had overheard others asking how much longer it would be. She still estimated around 30 minutes. I waited patiently and by 4:30 PM the receptionist told me they would need to reschedule because they were still running behind and the dentist was leaving at a set time (5 PM). After waiting an hour in the office, I was turned away with no service. I called Coast Dental's Patient Quality Assurance line at (877) 880-1212 to report the experience. The patient advocate apologized but also admitted I was not the first person to complain about this issue, which is deeply concerning. He advised this was documented but offered nothing else. This office charges cancellation and no show fees to patients, yet offers no compensation or accountability when they cancel on a patient who has already arrived, waited, and rearranged their workday. If a patient is expected to respect the office's time, the office should respect the patient's time just as much. This was a complete waste of time and a poor reflection of how they manage scheduling and patient care. This level of disorganization and disregard for patients' time is completely unacceptable.
