As a dental professional, I was mortified by my recent visit to Windcrest Cosmetic Dentistry. I was scheduled for a routine cleaning and exam at 3:00 p.m. The hygienist I was schduled to see, Dominique, was running behind, so the dental assistant brought me back, and Dr. Patel -- whom my husband and I have always had great experiences with -- performed my exam first. The hygienist finally came into the room around 3:20 p.m., and by 3:36 p.m., I was already checked out at the front desk. I have never had a cleaning that lasted only about 15 minutes (which included the time Dominique had to santize the dental chair, saliva ejector and water hoses), especially being overdue for my regular visit. What concerned me even more was the lack of infection control. The dental instruments were opened from the sterilization bag before I entered the room. I had to ask the hygienist to sanitize the dental chair, saliva ejector and water hoses because it didn't appear to have been cleaned prior to my visit (white particles visible on surfaces mentioned), and I was handed visibly dirty patient glasses. As someone who works in the dental field, I found this completely unacceptable and concerning for patient safety. It also saddens me that when I brought this issue to the attention of the front office staff upon checking out, nothing was done to address or rectify the situation. No apology was offered, which was very disappointing and left a poor final impression. Whether this was due to running behind schedule or simply a lack of care, the experience was extremely disappointing. Despite my positive experiences with Dr. Patel, my family and I will not be returning after this visit. read more

Update 4/7/26 - My most recent experience with your office was below expectations and has led me to consider seeking care elsewhere. I visited for a routine cleaning in late 2025, during which I felt the dental hygienist appeared inexperienced and uncertain in her technique. After the cleaning, while measuring periodontal pocket depths, the probe was left in my mouth while she turned away to chart. Additionally, the pressure applied during the exam was excessive and inconsistent with my previous visits, where my dental health has been stable. When Dr. De La Garza came in for the exam, I mentioned my concerns and expressed that I did not feel the measurements were accurate. Despite this, I was advised to schedule a deep cleaning, which I believe may have been recommended based on those questionable measurements. More recently, I received a call to schedule my next cleaning. During that conversation, I calmly and professionally explained my prior experience and shared that I was open to continuing care with the practice, provided I could be scheduled with a different hygienist. I also emphasized that my intention was simply to share feedback and resolve the issue. I was surprised when the response I received was an offer to remove me from the call list rather than address my concern. When I expressed my surprise and reiterated my desire to remain a patient while having my concerns acknowledged, the conversation was abruptly ended. After more than 10 years as a patient, I find this experience disappointing. I value the care I have received in the past, but I am concerned by how this situation was handled. I hope this feedback is taken constructively, as my preference would be to continue care with your office under improved circumstances. (4/7/26) Update #2 - I contacted the office and spoke with the Office Manager to ensure my concerns were clearly communicated. While she did offer the option of scheduling with a different hygienist, I was interrupted during my explanation of the situation. She referenced notes in the chart and appeared to focus on defending the hygienist rather than simply listening. As a registered nurse who also works in service recovery, I place a high value on active listening and empathy. I was disappointed by what felt like a lack of both during this interaction. Had my concerns been fully acknowledged with a simple apology and then followed by the proposed solution, I would have been willing to schedule an appointment immediately. The call itself lasted less than five minutes. This reinforces my impression that my concerns were not given adequate attention, or the office manager was just too busy to listen. Unfortunately, this experience leaves me feeling as though patient relationships and long-term retention may not be a priority. read more

If anyone suffered dental anxiety to the maximum, it was me. Just the thought of metal instruments in my mouth seemed barbaric, much less the drilling. Lately, my experiences have been very pleasant. Then again, my oral habits are pretty robust. I brush several times a day, I floss, I make sure I go to the dentist regularly...etc. I've found very good offices to take care of different things I've been wanting to do. The staff in this office was wonderful even though they missed the fact that I signed in and they called me to ask if I was coming to my appointment as I sat in the waiting room staring at them make the call, lol. The Provider was great! Communication between us was outstanding. He let me know what he was doing before he did it and it kept me at ease. I visited Windcrest Cosmetic Dentistry in March 2025 for a routine filling, but unfortunately, my experience has been very distressing. Before the treatment, I had no pain or issues with my upper or lower left teeth. During the procedure on March 20, I received three anesthesia injections (one upper, two lower), even though this wasn't clearly documented in my records. I experienced severe pain during drilling, and the dentist had to stop and administer another anesthesia shot. These details were never explained nor recorded properly in the clinical notes. At my follow-up visit on May 22, I was again given three anesthesia injections. However, the dentist only re-treated one lower tooth (#18) and did not explain why anesthesia was needed for an upper tooth that wasn't treated. This raised serious concerns for me about the use of anesthesia and the lack of documentation. At my final follow-up on June 9, I received another anesthesia shot without a proper medical plan. When I asked how many more visits might be needed, I was not given a clear answer. My question email has been ignored multiple times. My biggest concern has been the possibility of overuse of anesthesia, which can carry risks like nerve damage or facial changes. Without a clear treatment plan, I no longer felt safe continuing care here. On top of that, I was charged $212.63 after my March 20 visit, and then unexpectedly charged an additional $60.30 on April 11 via email without a billing statement or explanation, despite multiple requests. I was also promised a refund back to my credit card, but later told I would receive a mailed check without confirmation of my mailing address or a tracking number feom 6 weeks processingtime later change to 3 to 7 business day. The front desk staff asked me to sign a release form to receive the refund, which I felt was highly inappropriate and unprofessional. I am currently working with my credit card company and have filed a formal complaint with the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners. My intention is not to attack anyone personally, but to raise awareness and help other patients avoid going through a similar experience. I sincerely hope the clinic takes steps to improve communication, documentation, and transparency in the future. read more

I have been using them for 25 years. I started with Dr. Wright. He has left the practice for retirement a while ago. He was extremely through, all most a perfectionist with work. Dr. Del la Graza has been my dentist there for 20 years now. He also does very excellent work. I have had on going issues with my teeth since my early teens. Before I started coming here, I had not found the right provider for me. They have always been extremely kind and patient with me with regards to my fears of dentists. The dental techs and office staff always made time to get to know me. I always thought that is a big plus when dealing with medical practices of any kind. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PRACTICE TO ANYONE WHO NEEDS DENTAL WORK. RATHER IT BE THE FIRST TIME SEEING A DENTIST OR IF YOU HAVEN'T FOUND ONE YET THAT YOU ARE COMFORTABLE WITH. They will do whatever they can to fix what may be going on in your mouth with the upmost care and help you with the costs the best way possible. read more

I called to make an appointment and no one answered the phone. So I made an appointment online. I tried calling the office 4 times at different times of the day and no answer. I filled out the forms online, but the receptionist didn't even bother to check to see that I had already filled out all the forms. Dr. Delagarza was not in the office at my appointment time and so I was very disappointed. If they had answered the phone and told me the dentist wouldn't be in the office I would have cancelled my appt. I then waited 45 mins past my appointment time and was seen by some dentist that was not good. No concern or treatment for my pain! I paid $99 for an X-ray and quick 5 min. consultation. Do not recommend if you have to see another dentist! The ladies at the front desk weren't that friendly. I had to go to an emergency dentist and was only charged $49 for an exam and multiple x-rays. Also, the emergency dentist took care of my gum infection right away and immediately did a thorough procedure. If that gum infection had gone into my bloodstream I could have gotten sepsis and died. I went to this dentistry for many years and used to see Dr. Wright until he retired. Will no longer go here! read more

Windcrest Cosmetic Dentistry - Called with no answer - Cosmetic Dentists Near Me - Windcrest, Texas

Note the date: this is August 2022. I've been going to WCD for about 15 years and thought the world of Dr. Craig Wright. Sadly, he retired over a year ago. But I still had faith in the practice and his high standards and went back last week when a crown came off. Dr. Wright had predicted about four years ago that eventually I'd need an implant in that spot, and that day had come. I had a horrible experience. The practice is not the same, and I will never go back to Windcrest. The young dentist I saw, Dr. Lima, took an x-ray and as we both looked at it, he said I'd need some bone grafting due to bone loss, and that after he pulled the tooth, it would take four months to heal before he could put in the implant device. Then THAT would take another four months to heal before he could put the artificial tooth on top of that. It's now August 2022... so I'd be done by Fiesta Week of 2023??? WHAAA? Still, I was ready to go ahead. Dr. Wright had done an implant about six years ago, and I knew it took several months, although I didn't remember it being THAT long. Dr. Lima gave me a couple of shots to numb my mouth. After a while he checked, but we decided I could use one more. That was when the visit went south! That third shot went right into a nerve. I yelped and as soon as he pulled the needle out, I broke into uncontrollable sobs. It hurt! The pain was so intense, sudden, and shocking that I couldn't stop myself from sobbing. It was like slamming your hand in a car door. I made a point of crying as quietly as I could so I wouldn't scare the other patients-- but holy cow! I was stunned and shaken. That has never happened to me at the dentist before and I'm an old lady with a mouth full of dental work. I cried for about 10 solid minutes. When he came back in FORTY MINUTES later, needless to say, my mouth was totally numb. I said, let's get this done. Then he started waffling and backtracking, telling me that he might have to give me another shot, and then I'd have this long four-month healing period, and then there would be more shots when I came back for the rest of the procedure, blahblahblah-- basically he was undermining my confidence and talking me out of having the implant done. I think my crying scared the pants off him! I'm pretty sure in his short career he'd probably never seen a reaction like mine from an adult. Certainly not an adult older than his mom (or possibly his grandmom). I was beside myself-- annoyed, angry, shaky, anxious-- and had lost any confidence I might have had in him and, frankly, in the Windcrest practice. Sorry to say, but there you have it. There are probably some good, competent dentists at Windcrest, but I didn't get one of those. I walked out. Full disclosure: I left in a huff but did not indulge in any name-calling or cursing. I did call the office the next day to pay for the x-ray-- I'm not a deadbeat. At no time had we discussed price. My previous implant had been $3,900, so I knew it would be a lot, but they should have quoted me a price before any x-rays or shots. I don't have insurance and would be paying out of pocket. Today I saw an implant specialist who has 40+ years of experience, and he filled me with confidence. He took a panoramic x-ray and said my bone looks good and I wouldn't need any grafting. He said the whole process from tooth extraction, placing of the implant, healing, and final attachment of the fake tooth would be TWO MONTHS. His office quoted me the entire price of $3,700 up front, and I will go back to begin the procedure next week. THAT'S how you run a dental office. Moral of the story: There's no substitute for competence and experience. BTW, don't bother following the web link on this page; WCD does not currently have a website. They did in the past, but right now it's "in process" -- I called the office when I couldn't find them on a google search and that's what they told me. read more

I've always been very terrified and scared to go to the dentist but this office is great. Dr. De la garza is great! I never feel any pain during my procedures. He's very good at explaining what is going to be done and also gets to know his patients. The hygienist are just as awesome as well they take great care of your teeth. Dr DeLaGarza is an incredible dentist! He's humble and genuine...We have been blessed to be patients of his for 4+ yrs now. I've recruited several relatives & friends who had previous dentists but were tired of the unnecessary treatments,procedures and overpriced dental trips. The whole group happens to be amazing...so no matter if its Dr DelaGarza or Dr Wright...you'll be in great hands. It's not a huge conglomerate...and that's a good thing! They are great here. Dr. Wright is very practical and does not do unnecessary procedures, which I so much appreciate! He does do those things he feels is necessary. The staff is great. Brenda cleans my teeth is friendly and thorough. I have had a couple of near-emergencies (read pain in my tooth) and they fit me right in. Even on regular appointments, I never have to wait more than 5 or 10 minutes tops. I am moving soon and they have set a high bar to follow! read more

Dr. Wright was my dentist for 15 years while I lived in San Antonio. He was great. Fast forward I move to Houston a year ago so of course I stopped going here because I moved. I get a notification from Credit Karma that I'm in collections. I had mail forwarding and my cell phone number never changed. How can you put me in collections for billing from 2015 when I never knew it was owed? Top it off the patient's are for my husband and my daughter. My husband is the primary guarantor for both. Why am I in collections because I'm the secondary guarantor? The girl who is handling their billing in untruthful. She will tell you that attempts were made to contact you which are not true. I do not answer to generic robotic voice-mail-messages if no details were provided like my name and who is attempting to collect from me. Too many scammers out there for me to answer to those kind of voice-mail-messages. Unfair. To date the bill is now paid and I'm waiting for them to pull me off of collections. Note ... check if you owe any money before you stop services with this office because you may get an unpleasant surprise of being in collections. It bothers me because I'm never in collections and my credit has always been good. read more

My Husband hadn't been to the dentist in over a year (even w his friends' practice) We moved closer to his work Rackspace (30 miles from regular dentist) and would use distance as an excuse to cancel his appointments. So I did some research online and finally today he went to Windcrest Cosmetic Dentistry Center! Don't be fooled by name,They do annual cleanings for all ages. I dropped him off and he was so skeptical. When I picked him up, he walked out with this Huge smile:)..I thought they had whitened his teeth ..He said Nope...they just know what they are doing..I was super thrilled!! They even impressed me!!He even told me yeah I scheduled my next cleaning in 6months..NEVER would he ever schedule a follow up...They did such an excellent job..He said Dr De la Garza was direct, friendly, and kind.My husband said he could tell he was a good man that cared about his patients and the staff was very welcoming and assistant to the Dr did an excellent job cleaning his teeth..I wish I had a before and after pic..It would look like someone photoshopped his teeth to be white..I Give them 10STARS!!!**********:) read more
