I was very happy with the service I received a few years ago. But this year , I was told I would have to install two risers for $800 in order for them to drain my tank in addition to the cost of the septic removal. The risers weren't needed a couple of years ago when wind river drained my tank last- sounds like a money grab to me. read more

We had signs that there was a clog somehere. Callled and had a long wait time and spoke to someone who I assume was a remote worker with a bad connection. Very lengthy process making an appt for someone to come. A man did arrive that same day, seemed to take a very slow moving time camera-ing and augering the lines eventually saying there was a blockage somewhere. He said he would make arrangments to have someone dig outside. I should call too. Called and waited for more than a half hour in cue and eventually heard dispatch would be contacting me that day. Nobody called. Realizing this was not a company I wanted to rely on- I contacted another company to do the outside investigation. That company needed the detail from the camera. The report I got with my ( over $800 ) bill was absolutely vague - omitted information. Like- how far away was the blockage ( info which the camera must have gotten) I did get the emailed receipt for the amount charged to my credit card. ( you need to give a credit card when you make an appt) There is nobody to email back to for added needed info. I wrote in twice on the website contact us firm. I called and was told someone would contact me. Basically their info was worthless in detail, their tech too took a long time to give me vague info, and there is nobody that gets back to you. I know there is a labor shortage but this is broken and using them is a waste of money. read more

I thought this was a reliable and honest company. I now have my doubts about honesty. I called yesterday to verify they would be at my home this morning and was assured they would be here. I again called at approximately 1:00 p.m. as they had not shown up and was assured they would be here not later than 3:30. At 3:45 I called and was put on hold for 8 mins. then gave up. I called again a few minutes later and again on hold for 14 mins. My third call hold for 15 mins. Finally I called one last time and when prompted then press for a call back no call back at this time. read more

Horrible place to work for and a very miss leading company to customers and employees. They are under staffed for many reasons, some that include- very low pay rate for the amount of calls coming in, expectations way too high of employees, too cheap to hire enough help in their sketchy call center, too loud in call center to hear the calls, too selective on who they hire for making under $20 per hour, lack off support form management, corrupt management, still plenty of favoritism still which is well known if you google them for a place to work where you see the real deal. I know people who do business with them and who work for them who are ready to jump ship. Its all about them and screw anyone thats not in their click. read more

our septic alarm was going off so we called Wind River. They charged us $318 to pump a couple of feet of water/waste and another $332 to reattach a float . When we complained about the price they said they would refund us for the pumping (after we were told by the technician that we would not be charged) 5 weeks later they refunded $100. I would highly recommend to run the other way. $550 to reattach a float. I will never use them again. If I could I would give negative stars . read more

I contacted Wind River to pump out my septic system. They came, gave me incorrect information about the condition of my septic system, refused to pump out my septic tank and charged me two hundred dollars. Had problem with drains in house; they kept diagnosing tank problems. They don't follow up on appointments. They charge absurdly high fees on weekends or if you call in after 3pm. During last visit, worker left cap off sewage pipe (causing a hidden smell), left sewage gloves on the water heater, and failed to seal off the other sewage cap. An appointment made on Saturday wasn't fulfilled until Monday at 9PM. Receptionist are rude; nobody takes responsibility for their errors. Was supposed to camera the line and "oh, don't have the right camera"... twice. If you want keystone cop version of sewage service, go ahead and call. read more

BEWARE of this company!! I had my septic system pumped by them yesterday. I was informed that the filter was damaged and needed to be replaced which would cost $165.00. The man told me that I needed to get the filter replaced within three weeks because the water would be up to the filter in three weeks time. He said he could not guarantee if any solids would escape into the leaching field if I did not replace the filter. He also mentioned that the gasket needed to be replaced. I asked if I could just replace the gasket and he said no that it doesn't come that way. It comes as one unit. Something didn't sit right with me. I called a small, reputable family owned business and spoke to someone. That person informed me that he had heard things about Wind River Environmental but he didn't want to say what. That person came to my house first thing this morning to inspect the septic filter. He informed me that there was no damage to the filter and that it did NOT need to be replaced. He showed me the filter. It was fine. He did however change the gasket which he said would cost $5.00 but waived that fee. That person also informed me that Wind River Environmental pays a commission to the drivers for each filter sold. I was also informed that IF the filter needed to be replaced that it should cost $75.00 NOT $165.00. I received a voice mail message from a representative at Wind River Environmental this morning to advise me to give them a call so we could arrange payment for having my filter replaced which puzzled me because I never made an appointment or agreed for them to replace my filter. As I was calling Wind River Environmental this morning to let them know that the driver from the day before lied about my filter needing to be replaced and that I didn't want anyone to replace it, a Wind River Environmental truck was backing up into my driveway. I never made an appointment for them to replace the filter. I told the man on the phone that he needed to have the driver leave my driveway immediately. Needless to say I will NEVER use Wind River Environmental again. I feel that they were trying to take advantage of me. I am writing this review in the hope that other people see it and are not taken advantage of. In order to post this review I had to select one star. They are polite and professional on the phone and the job got done right on time. We were called fifteen minutes before they arrived. We recently moved into a home with a septic tank. I don't have any experience with septic systems, but two months after moving in, it was obvious that the tank was full and backing up into the house! And of course this starting happening at 10PM at night. Wind River came out quickly to pump the tank and clear the clogged pipe. They were quick, polite, and educated me about my septic system. After some initial confusion /miscommunication concerning the work to be done and the schedule, the company did an excellent job of repairing our septic system in a timely fashion and at a very reasonable price. They quickly arranged for the permits, and came back again to put the finishing touches on the project. I would absolutely recommend them for septic repair and/or pumping. read more

stay away for title 5 inspections. they failed us and quickly called to start selling us a new system.

Great customer service BUT. Their office staff is nice and attentive.....but unfortunately we bought into their hype about maintaining the system; didn't work. Put their stuff in the toilets, got it pumped every 1.5 years, etc. Then sold our house and called them for a title 5 at the mere price of $1K. Jay Gauthier came out, failed us and was a complete jerk through the whole process. no call backs, dropped or hung up calls and dumped the report on our porch when we were home so he didn't have to knock. Never explained the failure except to fill out the check-boxes on the report. Seems like a conflict of interest to me to fail a system and sell a new septic system but that's just an opinion. We now need to pay $30K for a system we won't use. We're now sorry we ever called them in the first place. Shoulda used the local guy who's been around for decades. If you do fall for their sales-pitch, may sure Jay G is not your technician. read more
